I have a sound engineer friend who listened to this performance and he reckons whoever was responsible for the sound mixing for this messed up big time, plus it sounds like they tried to mute the audience's screams which also messed with the guys' mic volumes. Such a shame because if you watch the fancams of people who were actually there it sounds way, way better. Every time BTS doesn't sound quite right live it's always on a live American TV show; almost like they can't handle 7+ members singing and rapping with different mics. Anyway! I am so, so hoping you guys decided to do MMA 2019 for the last ranking because it's SO SO SO good and will blow you away. It's long but so worth it. Keep in mind it's an AWARDS SHOW (but like a mini BTS concert in production!).
It was just announced today that BTS will be taking their 2nd extended break since their debut. It will be the first time since their debut they are able to spend the holidays with their families. Chris Martin also performed My Universe with BTS on Day 4 of their SoFi concerts. The sound for this performance was terrible because they tried muting the audience screaming. If you watch fancams from this performance it actually sounds better. The sound for their performance of Butter at the AMA was a lot better. The performance was right at the beginning before they won anything. I think BTS were so happy because that was the first in person performance in 2 years, they were happy to see ARMY. I really enjoy the music video for My Universe too if you guys want to check that out on your own time. American award shows are still afraid to give BTS their proper due. Some haters are even saying BTS only won because it's a fan voted award show and it's not based on actual quality. Also BTS just got their 2nd Grammy nomination too for Butter.
Fancams of this performance is so much better on the audio quality. 💜💜💜💜

This performance was toward the beginning of the show before they won. They were just happy to be in front of Army.

You guys should watch the actual MV for this song (on your own; not necessarily for a reaction). It's amazing! Just like a sci-fi movie! This performance was their first LIVE performance in front of ARMY in two years, and first time performing with Cold Play live.

BTS were all wearing Givenchy from head to feet during the My Universe performance. And they were all wearing LV during the red carpet as they are all LV Ambassadors.

I was at show #4 and was blown away when Chris Martin appeared. I called this weeks ago because Chris has a home in Malibu and Cold Play had nothing scheduled until January.

It’s amazing to me how poor the sound quality is at American MUSIC award shows. I’m American so I’m not hating on it just cuz. If you compare this to how they sound in Korean performances, there’s such a huge quality difference. It’s sad really.
