Thanks sir. I made criticism of your last video about profit booking. Thanks for clearing doubts. I got one point from this video that we have to stick to the original goal even the nav value crashed. It is good we are learning a lot.

10:38 "My laziness is the only reason why I'm wealthy today and it was not necessary for my goals" aptly summarises the idea behind this video. IMHO it is essential difference between an investor (goal focused) and analyst/trader (return focused)

So no matters whatever portfolio's equity:debt allocation do rebalance alone systematically (say once or twice) not tactically ...am i right ? And what if my equity allocation is not at all moving up say for 3 years of time or 4 years of time (same like in your case its very close to desired allocation what u want ) in this case also do i need to rebalance as per plan ? (reducing equity exposure and increasing debt exposure every year ) ...if i do like that what about my target corpus ...i may not be able to achieve ?

Thanks Sir for the valuable information. I have one question on asset allocation
    .
Goal : I need lumpsum in 10 years from now (Kids education) for which I am investing.
    Question is :
    a) Should I start investing in both Equity and Debt from now? (Equity 60%, Debt 40%)
    OR
    b) Invest in Equity (100%) for first 5 years and then book profit (ie move profit from equity to Debt)?
Remaining 5 years probably invest Equity (40%) and Debit (60%) and slowly decrease the equity allocation year on year and increase on Debt?
Out of 2 options which you think is recommended?
I am not sure if already some video is present and if any backtest of above scenario will help.
Currently I am doing only Equity investment and not having any Debt class for this goal, so this is a concern.
Having said, I do have other Debt component on overall portfolio itself : However not tied to the above goal (kids education)
SSA - Sukanya Samriddhi Account (Kids wedding)
EPF - Employee Provident Fund (Retirement)
PPF - Public Provident Fund (Retirement)
FD and couple of liquid funds - for emergency expenses

    Hi Mr. Pattu,
I used XIRR calculator which you uploaded on your website probably 3 years back. Let me tell you before using your calculator, I did it myself on excel with xirr. Function and the result was same ie confusing. My query is below :
I know from the value of my current investment that it is in negative percentage but xirr is showing only 0.00 % . Can you explain in simple words the reason for same. I went through articles on the web but couldn't understood.
    Thanks in advance.

Pattu Sir, I'm afraid of banks going bankrupt and restricting money withdrawals. Imagining a worst case scenario, where multiple banks are falling (due to Recession / Covid 19), where should we keep our money? Should we spread it across banks, fixed deposits, mutual funds, Physical/Virtual Gold, PPF, EPF, equity? Request you to answer this question.

    "Tactical Allocation'....hahaha! 🤣
It's far more work, effort and difficult to do it

Hi Pattu Sir, If we have loss both in equity & fixedincome, how we have to rebalance? do we add more investment amount or leave as it is grow and rebalance next time?

    • @sudheerk9347
      @sudheerk9347 Před 4 lety

rebalancing is adjusting the ratio between equity and debt.
If you invest 100Rs:100Rs, after 1 year, if it is 80Rs:70Rs (E:D), take 5Rs out of equity and invest that in debt so that it will be 75Rs:75Rs, that is rebalancing
