- Mutual funds profit booking - Should you book profit from your Mutual Fund Investments?
In recent months, BSE has come down from 62000 points to 57000 points and then moved up back to the same level of 62000
If you have invested 1 Crore in the stock market it would be 85 Lakhs at 57000 points
When the Sensex came back to 62000 points your thoughts must be let’s sell off a portion and book the profits then of keeping and losing it when the market goes down - A classic dilemma

Very good sir, supported my view of partial profit booking in mf. Otherwise nobody says to book profit in mf, which i can't tolerate in a sudden downfall of market..
No two of us have the same temperament, so if you do have the profit in the portfolio and you would like to rebalance the portfolio as per your desired asset allocation, you must move from Equity to debt to the extent of the profits atleast.
Hello sir, What if I have a high risk appetite and have 100% of your money in equity mutual funds? I'm 25 and is it better to stay invested for long term now and start balancing or moving towards debt instruments as I age? Or should I book profits by selling everything when market is high, and buy more units when the market moves to a lower position than when I sold them?
@@anirudh199820 as mentioned by you as you have a higher risk appetite and a longer term horizon, you may stay invested without booking profits..am sure it would lead to a long term good gains, however make sure you have some other source of liquidity for your emergencies. There is no one size fits all in these matters. Hope this clarifies.
@@anirudh199820considering your age... Stay in the market and watch closely to learn the situations.
