This is one of the most underrated songs I've ever heard
Weyes blood herself is underrated
I think the best song on this album.
Her voice sounds like she's crying, and the story she tells through her song is so sad, and relatable. I love her melancholy.

I always felt Weyes Blood is the female Rufus Wainwright. Virtually unnoticed, yet profoundly present.
Natalie looks like a time traveler here. Aesthetically vintage, but it feels like this was written years in the future, after my life becomes someone's memory. Your sound is timeless :-)

she was a siran in a past life! she has all the look of a young women but you can see the depth of time in her eyes, the soul is deep and full of memories! there is a mischievousness to her not in a bad way, just like I said a soul that has lived long enough to know that dark is balanced by light and light balanced by the darkness.
Weyes Blood is timeless and we love her.
Discovered this lady today, heard just this song, and ordered the album immediately. It's like a beautiful amalgamation of the voices of Karen Carpenter and Niko. I'm in love
I was never a fan of Joni Mitchell's song-writing, but loved her voice. I've heard Natalie often compared to Joni Mitchell, but it seems like more of a blanket comparison for soulful, white, female singer/songwriters. Karen Carpenter and Niko (especially Karen...) were two of the best female vocalists of the 20th century. Her song-writing skills/vocal skills are far beyond her years, very much like Karen and Niko.

@@starryeyedtarot8876 Nico's voice wasn't technical good. She wasn't a good vocalist, often going out of tune and flat. But that was a positive in my opinion. Her songwriting was so unique and polarising, that it needed a flawed voice to carry the songs. She was a pretty poor vocalist, but an exceptional storyteller with her voice, similar to Bob Dylan. Desertshore is just pure 10/10 fantastic.
Karen on the other hand, was an incredible vocalist , practically perfect pitch and control with the most stunning warm tone. I think Natalie's voice is more a successor to Karen's, but her musical innovations are in line with Nico, Tori Amos, Bjork, Kate Bush, Bowie etc.

I'm usually more into jazz/metal/experimental kinda stuff, but I keep coming back to this album since i bought it. She has such a beautiful voice and every song is really enjoyable. Perfect for a long motorway journey.
