save the planet. it's the only one with weyes blood on it
A t-shirt that says...
This comment made me cry --> like titanic rising.
I like your style
Damn... that's one beautiful statement.
Dude yes
"Treat me right / I'm still a good man's daughter / Let me in if I break / And be quiet if I shatter"
That might be one of my favorite verses in all of songwriting. Incredibly beautiful
she's like from the future and past at the same time :>
Damn, so right!
Movies is just on a completely different level. Otherworldly song.
It is. It's her ode to Julia Holter, musically, I would imagine.
meh
The only bad song in Titanic Rising.

People like you change the world
Thanks so much for this!
You are doing important work. OMG just heard Movies, what a song!
My guitar teacher recently joined the band, and I'm very excited for him! Weyes Blood has some masterful songs.
Saw them in concert recently, you guitar teacher is hot af
@@bigmoose0_ um okay
Her interview voice is overwhelmingly ASMR holy shit
what does ASMR mean?
@@alexia5763 in shorts words: anything that sounds or looks pleasing and relaxing
Full explanation:
ASMR is a sensation of tickling in your neck, back or whole body, triggered by positive sounds or images, like whispers, soft spoken voice, or anything that sounds pleasing for you.
Also is a genre of videos and audios where people record themselves making sounds that are pleasing, sometimes it can turn weird, it's a whole world and there is a lot of triggers (whispers, hair brushing, mouth sounds, people straight out eating food)
The community is so positive and supportive, cause ASMR helps people to fall sleep, relax, even people with PTSD or anxiety say that ASMR helps them to calm down
And Natalie's voice is so soothing and calm, it caused me ASMR

Something to believe is such a underrated gem, so uplifting and pure.
My favorite!
I've played it regularly since it came out, one of few newer songs that have stayed with me. It's really good.
this song is indeed a true underrated gem and one of my fav songs of all time easily
@@axelmagnusgaasotbh the entire record is timeless
She will go very far, you will see her growing as a songwriter and she'll be unstoppable: I'm 64 and seen a lot to tell.
Anyone watching in 1976?
george and marty mcfly maybe..
@@domsdomsdomsdoms...hahaha
hahahah yes
I thought I was the only one with that same thinking
🤣🤣🤣😂😂 seriously funny!
omg loooving her little backup singer shes soo cute
i jumped on the weyes blood train pretty late since i only discovered her early this year but i'm absolutely obsessed with her she really is something special
She’s absolutely awesome. Make sure you see her interview with Narduar! it was great to see her there too
I just discovered them yesterday ,lol there really something,
yup never heard of them until yesterday and fell in love with " Movies"....natalie is beautiful all around and her voice could be like that of an Angel, she has a beautiful face totally flawless
Andromeda gives me such a sad energy, and reminds me a lot of the game life is strange 2. Truly outstanding, Weyes blood is amazing and talented.
The presenter deserves so much credit here. She’s so genuine and involved and interested with child like wonderment. Beautiful voice, too.
Can we please appreciate the backing vocals
she really adds to the harmonies so beautifully
i noticed
I'm a little late to the Weyes Blood party, but my goodness, she is something else. Her music is so beautiful. I don't know why it makes me so emotional, but I'm glad it does. Makes me feel alive.
50 something bloke here. She is a magician. So much talent in the US. I really feel that female singers are making the most compelling music right now.
Only discovered her music this year. Titanic Rising is an absolute masterpiece. AOTY so far!
I don't dig it as much as her previous Front Row Seat to Earth
Album of the decade
Me too! Through Pandora! I just love her style so much.
What’s AOTY…. Ha. I just got it. Like GOAT, album of the year.
I just recently discovered her on Colbert doing god, make me a flower..
❤
the slide guitar in Andromeda and Something to Believe gets me every time! one of the top 5 albums of the year for sure
Titanic Rising is such a beautiful album 😍
She unfortunately didn't perform A lot's gonna change 😔, great songs tho
word!!!
Yo dude, honestly my fav song from the new album
Yeah they really gotta get on that song honestly. It’s actually so smart, but I’m hopeful 🤞🤞
That song is on repeat this morning
Or Wild Time
I got chills in Movies. Man, the whole band is in a trance, what an experience!
I love Weyes Blood her soul is beautiful. I also loved her previous incarnation as Karen Carpenter. This Etheric beautiful music touches souls just right.
why do the drums in this set sound so unusually amazing? Like i mean i was shocked from the first beat of Andromeda. Anyone else?
The KEXP engineers are so on point all the time. This particular session does sound extra good tho. I think it's a combination of the room mic'ing being spot on and the drums themselves projecting really well in the space. Would kill to sit down with their sound people and see how they do things.
This is honestly how drums should always sound imo. I’m in love 😍
The snare and hi-hat are so crispy
I felt the same
I completely agree.
Her voice is absolutely stunning
When those strings kick in on "Movies"... no words in the dictionary to describe that feeling.
Titanic Rising is the perfect tittle for this album.
Titanic, a ship that was considered the best, the most beautiful, the most elegant, perfect, full of joy and life. And then, something happened, and tore it apart. Dispair took over. Part by part it sank to the depths of oblivion. In there it rotted.
But it's still there, ignored, but there. All those feelings and thoughts that makes us feel in a certain way, and because of that we avoid them.
What this album does is to bring those feeling to the surface. To rise Titanic.
dude u made me cry tf
There is a bonus final track on the Japan region release of the album called Titanic Risen. Because when the album finishes, that's exactly what happens
she's the coolest human on earth
Ah, my favorite psychedelic/folk/70's pop/indie artist!
Seriously, though, this album is a masterpiece.
Haven't watched it yet but it's already my favorite video this month
agreed, and go Pens
One of my my favourite Weyes Blood interviews - she is clearly tired, the interviewer is nervous and yet Natalie, through empathy and intelligence, turns it into something deep and special
After she sweeps the Grammys this year and wins every single one, I hope it doesn't change her too much as an artist.
what a world that'd be
She will not get any Grammy. Lana is far more popular and mainstream and she also has a very good release this year. Grammies are mostly a popularity competition.
@@ArtificialFertilizer I know it's a long shot because like you said there is something inherently fake about the grammys, not to mention who gives a fuck about the grammys anyway, but it's just such a great and timeless album that she deserves major accolades for it.
@@pan4662 Well, yeah. Weyes deserves an award, definately.
Also, Grammies are an American award, I don't know the popularity of Weyes Blood in the American mainstream culture as I am not American so probably also I can't assess it very well.
This year though there were many awesome releases by pop divas: Weyes Blood, FKA Twigs, Lana Del Rey, Caroline Polachek, Angel Olsen, Charli XCX. I also heard that Carly Rae Jepsen had a really good album. The competitors are solid, the most popular probably will win.
Okay, not even nominated. Even once.
The band is so ardently involved in the emotional content of the songs - they are a real unit - rare / beautiful to see / hear
Confirmed: I am dead and she’s an angel from 90 years in the future. KEXP recorded this in May 2109.
This must be the best band currently making records. Natalie Mering is absolutely brilliant.
I'm in love with this song and Natalie's voice. Hauntingly beautiful.
I love all these songs so much but the highlight of this session is by far Movies. So masterfully crafted and orchestrated.
sometimes i write a song and then i listen to movies and then i take the song i wrote and throw it in the trash.
same
Don't give up. Nobody gets it right on the first try! Listen to Movies and realize that its an human achievement. Be inspired to write more, music is not a competition.
Weyes Blood has been writing songs for half her life - she didn't start out writing songs as good as Movies. But she kept at it and got better and better. Keep trying.
me 2
y'all should definitely have her back to perform songs from And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow! God Turn Me into a Flower is quickly becoming one of my fav songs ever and she ALWAYS kills it live🔥
Knew her because of Father John Misty. After listening to her songs, I immediately fell in love with her. Same goes for Hand Habits too. Luv the new girls of indie. 💗
the electric guitar in andromeda sounds like george harrison :,)
for real!
fucking yeah
Yeah, true! All of those thoughtfully put mellow slide guitar bends. Really makes me melt.
wow and that attack on the note! so perfect!
YES
To Natalie and all the musicians of Weyes Blood. I am thankful that I found you guys. Natalie, you have one of those voices that doesn't come around often. It sends me soaring. Praise the Almighty Lord for all we have been blessed with. I am hoping to see you live. Made my day! Michael J. Gayda
this is pure ART this album means so much :,)
The interviewer is such a fan. lol.
And soooo cute!
Cant believe this performance is from the future
Love her voice and songwriting (the changes and melody in the first tune are bomb), and that guitarist is a monster!!
i'm so in love with her voice
I'm pretty sure that performance of Movies is the best live performance of all time.
Seriously. I thought it was just ok on the album... But wow, after hearing her relationship with movies and then launching into such a beautiful live performance of it... that was an ethereal experience.
Agreed
I'm pretty sure you haven't listened to a lot of music from all time periods then lol. I say this as a massive fan of Weyes Blood. They've been my favorite band for the last five years. It was a wonderful performance though.
The album is superb. Something to believe reminds me of an artistic stroke of genius mixed with ABBA. The influences throughout the album are clear, but aren't overwhelming. Very good live performance here.
Ive never heard lyrics that resonate with me as strong as hers do. And her melodies and voice are excellence only comparable to a different era. she is very unique.
honestly really admire the host for being able to stand there and take it in considering i would be on my knees sobbing from the first second of andromeda. by movies i would be an inconsolable mess
it's impossible to listen to her without feeling like she has changed my life
something to believe straight to my soul
a phenomenal phenomenon
OMG! How can this be better than the studio album? Amazing
The best album of 2019!
0:19 Andromeda
5:05 every time
17:00 movies
23:20 something to believe
20:49 I love it when you see a performance like this and the band is having fun and obviously enjoying themselves
Just saw Weyes and band in Kansas. Top ten all-time concert for me.
"we are like 60% water..." love that.
When she sings movies, literal goosebumps
La voz de la presentadora es hermosa!
How she sounds exacly like the studio version??? Omg
Like when performers actually had to perform and not lipsync or autotune themselves.

This album is a materpiece
I've never heard or seen Weyes Blood before. The way she sings got me interested. Then the music... and how these two beautiful women converse - all that is incredibly beautiful and inspiring. Thank you.
I can't even put into words how much I love this woman and her music
Words cannot describe how incredible I think titanic rising is. Idk if any album has had such an impact on me as that one has im so grateful to her for sharing it with the world honestly
surreal a semelhança com a versão em estúdio... Talento puro!
god what an absolute angel
This band can actually play , and the vocals are good . if there was a like twice button we would use it.
i found weyes blood's titanic rising like 5 days ago because of andromeda and i couldnt stop listening to it. it's been on loop for me since i found it. strangely, it hadnt hit my emotions so strongly until i saw this performance. this is otherworldly, there's no other explanation to this ethereal celestial music. i feel like im actually floating in a secluded lake loooking at the stars. honestly the part when she sings movies and something to believe just made me sob for 15minutes straight (and i didnt even like movies so much when i listened to the studio version - but now i do). i dont know why im putting this out here but i hope that natalie knows how much she is helping people be in touch with their own feelings and their own existence in this mess of a world, and that her music is truly one of the most beautiful things i have ever heard
I had a similar experience with movies. I found it to be just okay on the album, but that live performance floored me.
She’s absolutely incredible and great band too!
First time listening to these girls/guys. I'm onyl two songs into and I'm a fan already.
LOVE this woman! Her voice and music makes me melt.
Everyone in the band absolutely on point. Love it.
I just can't get enough of this video. I play it again and again: so much beauty in all of it.
I`m in tears with Weyes Blood, I love this.
I wish I could hear this album again for the first time
She's incredible
my heart has been melted
The mixing is really awesome!! Thank you, audio engineers. Loved the performance, Movies is such a beautiful song
Andromeda is fucking brilliant
Her voice is simply DIVINE. I could hear she lullaby me all night
Andromeda music video is release! This beautiful lady is insane 😭😭😭😭
I can't believe the host didn't lay down and cry like the rest of us after this performance.
Oh no another indie singer I'm gonna listen all day long.
That Slide guitar sounds sooo much to George Harrison!
My sweet Andromeda
My gosh……I’m speechless
The host was fangirling just as much as I was. Amazing performance.
No lo he comenzado a ver y ya tengo la piel de gallina.
I'm so hyped about this! Thank you KEXP!
I live in the mountains and have no internet. This was all I asked for upon my return to civilization.
Never heard of her before today, but she's great.
saw her last week on San Diego, shes absolutely good live
What a talent. A bright mind too
gorgeous voice
I Love this girl so much
Couldn't click fast enough. Their last KEXP show was amazing. I made an MP3 of it and listened to it over and over.
Just wish that incredible outro on "Everyday" at 8:40 lasted a minute longer.
You inspire me every single day. Your voice is so soothing. You’ll always be loved and appreciated.
I love coming back to listen 💛
i love her so much
