@@motorsandmeats88 unfortunately we won't be in the Boxster. We'll be in my old Acura MDX transiting between camping at a music festival at Mulberry mountain this weekend and then on to Atlanta to see my brother in law
I only did 600-1 which is about 14 miles. There is a gate at 600-2, but the local residents have convinced the county to force them to keep it open. I learned last week that the party who installed the gate will be taking the decision to the state supreme court. But as of now, you can definitely drive right past the gate at 600-2.
Good stuff! I tried to do it last weekend, didn’t know it was ok to go past the gate at 600-2, found a way around that intersects with 600-2, and broke a front CV axle and got stuck. Lol. Whoops.
Actually I made a 2hr trip out of the way from Georgia today to go hit this trail again! It was so much fun. I may come back when it’s cooler and do a camping trip there. I’m from Mississippi, but I’m all over the southeast all the time for work.
@@motorsandmeats88 I’m originally from Georgia too. They have some great trails in the mountains especially fire access roads you can camp on too. Went up in Helen with a buddy and found a trail with light creek crossings but loads of fun!
I’m really looking forward to this build out. Back-of-the-mind goal is to have the Cayenne built up well enough in 1 year to feel confident enough to go to Moab.
None of the side trails are legal to drive on, btw. I've heard rumors of rangers giving out $300 tickets. Regardless of gates or not, the only places you can legally drive are the ones on this map (and some have seasonal closures): www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd1083849.pdf

Ha! We're going to be travelling through the Talladega national Forest next week! Not offroading though.
Lots of good B roads to be driven there!

Nice!
Was the full 27 mile trial available? I heard a gate was added?
