I want to let you know that I have 25 cactus and about 20 euphoria that are thriving because of your channel. I killed quite a few cactus in the past and gave up trying to grow them.. After watching your channel I was inspired to try again. Your advice has turned things around, all are happy and healthy! Thank you for being an inspiration. ❤😊

I have hundreds. Get yourself some frailea phaeodisca and some scorelubutia. They're really elegant tiny cacti with the spines flat like a tiny fern frond. I have a few about to flower
Love that you show us what you are doing close up enough so we can see everything you're talking about. For example, like the orange of a pup that most likely won't make it due to root rot. Say hello to Hans for me! You two are the BEST!😊❤
So happy you enjoyed the video and Hans says Hello and sends love to you too, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Hans and me for a fantastic Friday XXXX

Hi there Lyn ! Happy Easter and I intend to do some repotting too over the weekend. I hope it didn't cost you too much to heat your Polytunnel this Winter because it's been so cold. Looking forward to seeing those Avalon bloomers soon!
Happy Easter Marion :-D thats fantastic you will be repotting over the weekend too, its so wonderful to get repotting now that Spring is here, awwww our elec bill was quite high due to the heater working flat out over the icy cold spells and the cost of elec now due to the cost of living is ridiculous, but thankfully its warmed up so much now and fingers crossed we don't need to worry about the heater until next winter, thanks so much Marion for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Easter XXXX

Yay! Mammillaria pups!! I'm so glad you were able to save so many of the pups. The big group looks like a bouquet. I love this video. I like that you talked about terracotta pots vs plastic. I was wondering, in summer does the polytunnel ever get too hot? Sending you and Hans peace, love and Mammillaria Pup Power for an awesome weekend from your friend in Georgia!
haha Jeff :-D I am so happy you loved the video of the Mammillaria pup saving, and I was so glad that there were quite a few pups I was able to save that already had little roots attached to them, in the summer the polytunnel usually doesn't get very hot but last year we had it unusually very hot with heatwaves and the polytunnel reached 125F in there, it was like walking into an oven haha, I could smell the plastic of the polytunnel roof and honestly thought it was going to melt LOL! it did stress the plants out and a few plants mostly my Epiphyllums and leafy succulents got a bit heat damage, thanks so much Jeff for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and Mammillaria Pup POWER hahaha to Georgia for a wonderful Wednesday today XXXX
In my experience, only living in hardiness zone 5-6, plastic will get extremely hot. I only use those when I have a pretty large amount of substrate to surround the roots, normally when healing in a new plant, then will place in clay after their roots have matured for the growing season.
I also like clay more due to needing more of my attention for proper watering. I just love minding them throughout the days.
@@1neAdam12 Thanks so much for sharing your experiences of using both plastic and clay pots :-D XXXX
Those pups look so cute when they are small. I just went out to town out of boredom and found a young echinocactus subdenudata and it was only £2.50. There’s always place for 1 more I said 😊
WOw thats a bargain price indeed :-D and so very true haha 'there is always room for one more or a few more' hahaha :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful afternoon and evening XXXX
I've had some damage to my gracilis plants this winter too Lyn 😲 Doesn't usually happen, I wonder if it was because it got cold so quick this year? Have a lovely evening my friend 😊😊🌵🌵
So sorry to hear you had some damage to your gracils plants too Ziggy, they are usually so cold hardy I was surprised to see mine get damaged, I think the early extra cold start in December after such a mild Oct and Nov definitely had an effect on them compared to the usually very mild Decembers we get, thanks so much Ziggy for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific afternoon and upcoming Easter XXXX

Besides the dreaded Jumping Bear cactus, I'm not a fan of the extra fine Pereskiopsis spines. But! was watching recently a channel from a gal who raises porcupines, and to that, I say no way! Some of their quills are near the width of a #2 pencil, with the addition a razor sharped point. She was casually extracting around 6of these things from her inner calf muscle, simply after getting bumped by one of these things. The hemorrhaging during extraction alone was unimaginable.
So say the occupational risks involved in handling even a Echinocactus Grusonii (golden barrel) is a walk in the park compared to that.
Oh my Golly haha :-D the thought of handling Porcupines with their razor shaped quills makes me shiver haha :-D and repotting an Echinocactus grusonnii really would be a walk in the park compared to handling cute but very spiny Porcupines haha, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday XXXX

I just gathered up all my courage and did my own removal of some puppies, thanks to some of YOUR videos & others & I think it was a great success!! My question to u is,,, u seem to be pretty certain that it was the cold that caused ur baby to rot. Do u have any other specific reasons why you think THAT was the cause and not because of something else??? Thanks for your videos!‼️. 🌵💜
Thats fantastic you have removed some of your cactus pups too Anita :-D its so much fun to propagate them, I think its due to the cold as the heater in the polytunnel struggled to keep the air temperature in there at 5c /41f and was more at the 2-3c temperature, but its also possible that because there was so many pups all growing like a mound on top of each other, that some moisture may have got trapped in between the pups causing the rot on the one side, I have heard a few other growers say that these type of multiple pupped Mammillarias are best if they have their excess pups removed as they can be prone to rot if water gets caught in between them, I had kept this cactus dry without any water from September last year, but its still possible that moisture from the air got in between the pups and caused the rot, thanks so much Anita for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend XXXX
