2K24 is easily the worst they can give us. Haven't played since season 3 but it's all about microtransactions now and gameplay is irrelevant. Unless they take an extra year and rework 2Ks engine from the ground up and remove microtransactions I won't be getting 25.

Losing developers never helps a company. I do not see 2k getting any better with this reorganization structure. I do think this bring more awareness that 2k need to take putting out better products.
I'm pretty sure 2K will add more hairstyles, Player logo basketballs and ramp up player build prices to make up for any loss they take

It’s happened already, My cousin was apart of the team that helped with TOP SPIN that was his last project , Gets his severance and a bonus for the completed task. He said he’s low key happy , He said it was a pretty toxic place to work, although he had fun at the same time was mentally draining.

From my understanding, 2k24 is the first year with the new graphics engine that pulls dribble styles, shot styles inmations from actual games, instead of in studio with censors and green suits. They say the next 2 years will see more additions to all animations. Thanks for the reminder this game is obsolete in 5 months... they still want more money though

I really really hope Rockstar creates a dope in-game basketball mechanics where we can play HORSE and 21 on a court. Would be even more dope if we could start a rec league in GTA. Role Playing on a whole other level!
They say the layoffs wont affect NBA2k devs but it will surely hit the budget!

In return 2K needs to involve the community more to get a win-win situation. The aggressive strategy will drive the player numbers down even further.

There has never been a GTA game that has released outside of the fall window look it up.Its pretty much guaranteed a delay because of the massive leaks so prepare yourselves for a 2026 release you heard it here first
One big problem with 2k is that they've been making basically 2 games every year. If they plan to go back to having just 1 game then the layoffs make sense. But if they still plan to make 2 different 2Ks one for current and one for old gen then the game will suffer massively.
That being said, I'm already sold on skipping 2K unless we see a massive overhaul to the City, create a player, game modes, and they really show Next Gen effort into making it an all timer. I doubt we'll see it, so I'm out on 2K25 before it even gets any kind of news.
Quit playing this in season 3 I think, they ruined Rec ,made scoring to easy, toxic community, and I been legend since 2k20 so I'm done for good I think

I don't have the patience for 2k right now. I saw 2k24 available on the game pass. I played a couple games and just couldn't do it. No more VC finesse for me. I respect the No Money Spent grind but that isn't very fun on My Career which what I would play most of the time. I'll wait and see what GTA 6 has to offer but if it's microtransactions on steroids, I'm done with Take 2 for good.
2k24 had potential, is semi fun, overall, ton of issues and flaws.
Feels like a step backwards when they essentially use similar builder, but make builds more restrictive.
Gameplay seems so flawed, steals seem very RNG unpredictable, ball constantly being yoyo'd and traveling thru defenders bodies. Dribble moves that can't drop the ball, create force fields, like Jamal behind the back, and jumpshots that counter contest like Patty Mills.
IMO if 2k25 doesn't come w heat, it'll be a start to a potential downfall. W GTA 6 and NCAA droppin and all the BRs ppl will jump ship earlier in 2k cycle and in more masses.

There was never a NBA 99. Therefore 2K24 is NOT the 25th anniversary. NBA 2K released Fall 1999 leading into 2000 aka 2K 🤦🏾♂️

NGL people really got to stop saying not going to lie, especially for things that nobody would lie about. lol. But to answer your question, no I don't care about GTA. I bought GTA v and what a waste of money. I don't get the genre. I love sports games, started playing Madden on the PC in 2001 and NBA 2K9. 2K24 is a damned good basketball game, but Yes there are two things that suck about it and it's all the microtransactions and the online gameplay being so selfish or toxic.
This is why I stopped buying 2k. Was a customer for years. It’s a terrible product year after year that is designed to gouge customers with endless micro transactions, on top of paying a premium title price for the dogshit game that is basically copy and pasted with some lipstick year after year, and ground breaking server issues constantly. As soon as it’s released they allocate minimal resources to develop or improve the game, since they start working on next years money trap.
The game breaking bugs rarely get fixed or addressed after release. I’m done with giving them $200 to $300 minimum just to play the game each year.
The PC version servers are broken every year, so don’t even bother trying to play on that platform. PlayStation is probably the best option, but then you’re also forced to pay for PS plus subscription on top of the game costs just to play the dogshit game. They won’t get anymore money from me.
GTA 6 will be lit though.
