I say really what took away from people experimenting with different animation is the loss of the mycourt. That was so clutch in many way. Gatorade facility alright but the loss of stamina hurts the aspect of seeing what works for you and your myplayer

2k if u listening… pay attention. The problem with the animations is that they literally are different speeds. If given a choice what would u use the fastest right? The speed of the animations should be directly related to the ball handling attribute. So at 99 ball handling if I want to… I should be theoretically able to combo a clunky Joel Embiid size up with let’s say a Steve Francis cross into a sped up Luka step back etc etc… and bam u have a fix all ur animations can find a home and u have a skill gap with dribbling and combo moves and chaining them together. Two birds with one stone. Hire people with fresh minds make it simpler not more complex…
man 2k are a bunch of dumb asses. they will continue to make things a problem then come up with a solution to their "problem" to keep you buying.
“Over 500 animation styles this year” yet everyone has the same dribble package and shot. 💀🤦🏾♂️ last 2k for me fasho! Starting to feel like a cult like community no one really wants to be different anymore.
That’s not 2ks fault. That’s the sheepish community as well as content creators fault. More towards the community.
I’ve tried just about every animation I’ve had access to this year. Different jumpers different releases. Dribble moves and I def tried damn near every motion style. Me and my boys tried to make the ugliest jumpers possible and played with those. But I def feel what you are saying.
@@day-trishad3937 well considering MOST animations are ass or wonky…you can’t really blame people for going with what they know works…however I’m the type of guy that is determined to be different no matter how ass the game is so while yes I hate using the new animations due to them being trash I still do so I can separate myself from the sweats that do the same one of 2 glitch moves that 2k invest in the most. No shade to All city but the pull back and “speed boost” that he used in most of his clips…literally aren’t hard to do yet also is something that most sweats been doing since 2k22 I believe…sounds pretty cultish to me
because most dribble moves have no explosiveness or sway to them just a bunch of stiff moves
@@dearieskingful but other animations aren’t ass. Ppl are made to think ‘these are the best animations’ so they don’t open up to try other things. That’s where I place the blame on the content creators. I compete and beat so-called sweats and comp using things other than ‘meta’ a big part of it is the world we live in today… everyone wants the easy way out and don’t want to put the work in how to use these other animations or put the work in to get good with them. Just my opinion. I respect what you are saying!

The problem is that the defense has no way to interact with these offensive animations. If you're in a bodyup animation, theyre J.Murray btb will disengage and push them through you for the sake of completing the animation

And these players know it and they just spam the shit behind screens. Jamal Murray doesn’t even create that much space or move that fast. The game is bad because of the community. Can’t get mad at the company making an NBA basketball game for trying to replicate NBA basketball. But dudes who abuse the flaws of a game take the fun out of it.
@@reese5545 I would say the devs are at fault too. They know what things are busted and hardly ever tone them down. Not only that, but collision between the defender and screens is horrendous. Let me navigate a screen if I'm a good defender. If it's a hard screen and I'm sprinting, I should get struck by it
FACTS! 2k needs a drill system to help players get reps at reading scenarios and practicing moves! You can't even practice catching and shooting with the ball returner anymore. There's no effective way to practice without ruining your shot percentages and heat map. The timing of everything is just too different between AI/NBA games and online games.
It'd be different if ProPlay wasn't using the cameras inside of actual NBA games to capture the animations. But since they are, signature animation shiftiness, speed, and space is at the mercy of the NBA players themselves. But putting them to use is a user task, in my opinion.

Man when I be out there having to guard the best player on the team sometimes like a 3pt shot hurter, player 3pt, floor spacing slasher anyone with fast dribbles and handles I get cooked cause they move so fast and I have 88 perimeter defense but I don’t always get the clamps bounce cause they just so fast and my player don’t move like that
man pro play is a marketing ploy meant to make the casuals think their getting a more authentic game, these the same animations we’ve had for years they just more slower and clunkier now. anyone defending pro play is lost it’s sad that 50w% or below park win percents have the most impact on the gameplay when they don’t understand the game at all 🤣 community is so damn cooked😂😂

I agree with the part that you said at the end with the Top Spin comparison and how that tutorial lets you try different styles and it’s gives you a clear insight into building and choosing a play style.
In reality that is attribute and also the skills you can equip on your player that help power those different styles not the animations.
To me the different serve and forehand and backhand animations seem like mostly preference for sure.
It would seem 2k thinks they have given us that testing ability with the builder which does have the ability to try out your player at 99 overall but what’s missing is the realization from 2k that the true power of a build is having top tier animations stacked together.
Like for instance ALL guards 6’4 and below are simply at a disadvantage not having Patty Mills jumpshot base.
Sure there are other jumpshot bases that work, but if you play against someone of similar skill it’s going to be a competitive game and if they have that Patty and you don’t they have an edge over you and that is just a fact.
It would be nice for more options that are top tier for sure.
I think the hard part is 2k doesn’t know what animations even are gonna be top tier which is understandable, us players go out and figure that out. Just because a NBA player is fast IRL doesn’t mean their animations will be the fastest on the game.
Maybe they can be more aware of dribbling benefits by categorizing them as “getting downhill” and “3pt Hunters” and more stuff like that.
That way it can distinguish animations that are more likely to help you slash or dribble more side to side. Really it’s just them having more of an awareness of the power of animations which hopefully would create more top tier options of different ones being good at different aspects which would create more play styles.
This was a necessary video for me, been wondering why my player locks up in certain scenarios for a while. Has me viewing the game differently now. All City thanks.

There were no new animations this 2k…. they just took old animations and slapped an NBA players name on it 😂
pro play was created with play now and myteam in mind. a mode where you select specific animations can’t effectively use pro play as it’s designed. it basically uses capture tech to update NBA player animations through the year.
I immediately noticed when I switched to 2k24 that it’s the least responsive dribbling has ever felt (I’ve been playing since before they made dribble moves the right stick in 2k13) I had to adjust to the even worse input lag this year compared to previous years (my internet isn’t the issue I play on Ethernet cable with 1gbps internet)
Dribble moves would be great if latency was not so strong just make the dribble system more responsive similar to how it was in 19?

Unpluckable needs a buff the whole build system was switched to a money grab first certain things go up u dont need takin up points n they made it where u have to play a certain way due to the builder a pg wit defense cant score passing cost more then it ever has power n big oversized fast builds is od cuz u cant pass shot n dunk gotta give up one like the game is stupid n set up tor u to keep trying multiple builds n also knowing who u r playing against so u can pick a particular build its all a money grab to make more builds just think of how many people made extra builds just because they didn’t have the right animations on 🤦🏽♂️
Ngl this 2k helped me find ny playstyle and i learned to create more ways to score this is my 5th 2k btw but i added a few moves to my bag like floaters reverse lays and euro steps also added a spin fade to my bag to misdirect defense im still learning but my builds evolved from being a pure shooter and my defence (when im not delayed) is 10x better than when i started this isnt the best 2k to me my favorite one will always be 19 because of the memories and it was my first 2k thanks for tuning into my rant much love to the 2k community

I started using pro for all dribbling moves except for my escape behind back and hesitant and spinning. A big change motion stye I use basic
The probl with the animations not getting you open . Shots in the game that are open in real life are not open in the game
Pro play is cool ... We just need some better animations on defense to combat some of the pro play ... We see these pro plays get stopped in real life ... Why we cant stop them on the game.? Thats my only problem ....
I feel you but how would they implement defensive bumps? Then you’d just see everybody with Lou Dort defensive style(for example). This is the most defensive game 2k has ever made, they ruined it by making shooting easier. If you’re having trouble guarding someone idk what to tell u. A large majority of the community can’t dribble

Bro you were Gordan Ramsey in them clips. I need to spend a lil time learning to dribble. I can already create my own shots by a little misdirection, but if I can just learn to do a couple lil combos, I feel like I'll be a problem. I do agree with you about the end where it would be nice if 2K made it a point to make sure we knew everything that was at our disposal, by having certain mechanics emphasized. I guess they put the responsibility on us to utilize the tools they put in the game as opposed to making us actually learn it. I think on 25, since I'll most likely be going no money spent from day one, I'll take the time to learn then.
More people need to hop on all star team up. That shit is slept on and I like how you have to progress through tiers to unlock some of the greats. Only down part is there's a lot of trolls (hero ballers) on it
I understand your height determines jump shot speed max you can get but again wide open shots you getting ghost contested is crazy even though a 7'0 player shot timing normal and my jump shot is a A- release speed and my shot still feels slow like make it make sense 2k especially wide open

Honestly what would make this game make more sense is if in the builder, after you’re done creating your build and you see the 3 players modeled after, those are the animations you are allowed to use… therefore creating more versatility. Just a thought I don’t mind this game I mean obviously certain things are ridiculous and it will never be nostalgic or good like earlier games but if they(2K) are going for more realistic or pro base gameplay then they should incorporate this
IMO... proplay isn't accepted/appreciated bec ppl don't know "how" to use it. If we being honest, most folks use animations bec it's "a meta" vs they understand what works best for them

So, I’ve been telling my idea for 2k for a while, so I would like your opinion. Instead of factions, you choose a brand from AAU in your high school prelude, and every season, depending on who you choose, have a training camp building where you and other players do drills and new animations to practice and when you complete it, it’s a set of animations specific to your brand. Every season, depending on what you accomplish, you get a travel bag, couple of different shirts, color way accessories, maybe some shoes. I have ways more ideas

the gameplay u chose to display is another reason why 2k is trash. creativity is dead everybody using same stepback and all the behind the back are all similar... theres nothing unique anymore.. i just miss 2k17 when everyone had different styles of dribblin onlything the same was probably the lamarcus alridge jumpshot

In 2k11 or 12 maybe even 09 lol they had the animation when Kobe dunked on Dwight.. it was the same exact animation to what Kobe did in real life . “Pro play” is bullshit they been had the technology to put moves in a game .. when they said last year was first time introducing “pro play” I knew 2k was on a serious downfall

I can’t say it’s 2k’s fault that everyone wants to use the meta. This attitude persists across all competitive games and their players. There’s a preferred playstyle and people will look for whatever will help them accomplish the play style and maximize W’s. You either gotta be extra nice or not care to not be a meta slave
The issue is that 2k changes the controls too often. You learn a few moves on the right stick and then a year later the controls are unnecessarily changed. The average player doesn’t want to take the time to learn new controls every year.

The least they could do is either slow down or speed up animations based on attributes. Or hide the best moves being only the BEST attributes. No way a 6’9 PF should be just as fast as a 6’2 guard on a Murray slide if there’s a huge discrepancy in size and skill. Idk. Just a thought

Interior defense is probably the worst its ever been especially with layups have gold immovable enforcer and 9/10 i try to meet the driver in front of the arch and stand with hands up and 9/10 a high driver player will go through me with a layup and my play is too late to react to block and it will say open and excellent while i got gold anchor 😂😂😂

I figured that you say 2k has no competition, but I came up with the PERFECT solution… Instead of continuously buying the new 2k each year stay on the most recent so that you get your moneys worth.. we have the power to make 2k compete with its self .. Look at how the system is it takes 9-10 months to show your player’s true potential.. imagine going 1 year of just playing a basketball game you already leveled up on would save you guys tons of money & time trying to it
I hate how 2k tries so hard to bring in the Fortnite and shooter and rpg gamers to sports games. Matchmaking has never been good on 2k on any mode other than play now online why is the ref not like this why when im on any of my purple or gold plates am I always matched with a team full of casuals, while the other team is full of gold and purple players players.
People dont practice these moves at all and dont know how to use them together. Pace in basketball is a real thing. ITS BASKETBALL, its not a sport you can just pick up n play. IM tired of sports games making everything so damn accessible. Yes , its a sport learn it and also be yourself and use what you like and there wouldnt be a meta

See this is exactly what I mean when I say online killed 2k. Online players don't want an NBA basketball game. Y'all want NBA Street online. That's why I keep saying there NEEDS to be two separate games. I play FPS or action RPGs for the story, while others play for the online multiplayer. Neither is a bad thing but gameplay mechanics from one mode can kill another. This is what offline players are talking about with the rest of the game. Everything is geared towards online. I actually want to enjoy PLAYING my MyCareer and Myleague games, not just simulating through every game.
If I do a LeBron build in MyCareer I want it to look, play, and feel like LeBron and for it to be just as effective in the game. Online players forget this is a game that is supposed to simulate an actual sport. I wish they would just drop a new NBA Street and leave 2k alone.
And then they fuck everything up with your bages Down grading wtf 2k
This probably my last 2k for awhile. The shooting is so atrocious im not interested in 2k25. It’s annoying how you’re drawn into animations and affecting your shot. Be able to steal is cooked without fouling.

It’s the first year of it. I am sure it will be better next year. How many different motion styles have you tried? And do you know the effect that they have on your game? Motion styles are damn near game changing. Most people stick with 1 if they even change it at all.

That would only work if we had 100 animations for each move type. I could see it working as a progressive thing if you unlocked say 20 animations at a time as your rating progresses.
What about the people that like the way different things look or feel?what if I want to dribble like wade or butler but I don’t want to only have pro moves for everything. It’ll make it boring and everyone will be the same. Sounds like 3 on 3 freestyle or Roblox.

The game play on consoles is shit, play the play and the center, the rest just sits there and watch, fortunately the game of basketball is not like that and the game play on PC is completely different, at least at the Rec, everyone scores points and the ball spins before getting to score a point, but logically we are talking about 2 different games, the PC one is better, much more fun
