  • The Cadillac Lyriq is more than just the first electric Cadillac, it’s a brand transformation; a return to traditional nomenclature and a striking new Cadillac specific design inside and out. This ’24 Lyriq Sport 3 with Super Cruise came in at $78,295 over a base MSRP of $69,695. New for ’24 is a revised grille design, new door handles, colors, trim, and packaging. So how was it? Drive it like a smooth luxury cruiser and the Lyriq rewards you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet:
    102kWh battery pack
    500HP and around 450 lb-ft of torque
    0-60 MPH in 4.6 seconds
    3,500lbs towing
    EPA Est. 307 miles of range
    DC Fast charging up to 190kW
    89 MPGe Combined
    38 kWh per 100 miles
    Weighs nearly 6,000lbs (5,961 lbs) 🏁
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    Highs:
    +The Lyriq’s design is straight up a spaceship, truly stands out anywhere you go as does the interior; Cadillac is drawing on their art deco era roots here.
    +Range was never an issue and ample power was a pleasant surprise, though if you were expecting a sporty vehicle, that’s just not the Lyriq.
    +Regen capabilty was fantastic, as was the trick regen paddle.
    Lows:
    -The one main issue I experienced with the Lyriq was buggy software & frequent apple car play disconnect.
    -Interior build quality could’ve been a bit better for $80k, various rattles could be heard at highway speeds.
    -22inch wheels are gorgeous though aren’t the best option for ultimate luxury; a bit loud and firm over rough roads.
    -The seats need more thigh support and adjustments both front and rear.
    Solid 7.8/10: A great start for Cadillac’s electrification only to get better. (I’m very excited for the Vistiq and I can’ explain why)

    ** Would like to add that this front facia/LED design is unique to the Sport trim on the Lyriq! The Luxury focused Lyriq's retain the 2023 style front facia/LED design.

    I love my 2024 Luxury 2 Cadillac Lyriq it's about 3 weeks old, the only bad thing is there are no EVGo charge stations around the closed one is in Birmingham AL that's 1hr and 1/2 away.....that suck. I took the 2 years free EVGO charge stations.

    At one point while talking about the door you say that the lower section has soft-touch plastics, but the you touch it it sounds like anything but soft (unless you hit it particularly hard, soft-touch plastics wouldn't make a sound. Hard plastics would).

    Strange. No garage door opener.

    Believe it or you're one of the first channels that I have encountered (and I have watched MANY) that gets that Ultium is a platform, not a particular vehicle (whether or not those other channels were being deliberately dense is another matter entirely).
    Which is to say, you can have multiple vehicles based on the platform, which doesn't mean that they're all the SAME vehicles.

    You advised getting smaller tires and wheels to help with ride quality and EV range - I agree! That said, it seems like the larger ones are standard with the Sport 3 and Luxury 3 trims. So if you want some of those other perks - like the rearview camera and highest-level interior styling and seats - you're kind of stuck with them. Right?

    • @kyleloeffler321
      @kyleloeffler321 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I’m pretty sure the online configurator allows you to replace the 22s with the 20s found on luxury/sport one and two. So, you shouldn’t be stuck with the bigger wheels if you don’t want them

    • @officerdailey
      @officerdailey Před 2 měsíci +2

      Most level 3s I'm seeing on lots come with 20s and a $1000 discount. Not sure if it's a shortage in the 22 supply or if they are realizing from the customizer that folks prefer the 20s. I personally think the sport 20s are the best looking anyways.

  • @anthony20208

    In my opinion the 22's are matched to the vehicle and offer better sound dampening over highway gaps. The 20's create more of a bass drum noise and causes a more floating and bobbing ride versus the 22's (Not even factoring in hard cornering and or spirited driving).I don't think this vehicle was originally designed for 20's and then 22's were swapped out. I think the ride was created for the 22's (damping, rebound, jounce, and noise, are for the 22's). I came to this conclusion after putting 7k miles on my Lyriq then taking a level 2 with 20's for a back to back drive.

    I have noticed that all of GM ev's I have sat in have bad thigh support. Specifically the Lyriq and Silverado EV.

    This is nice, but for the money I'd rather have the '25 Volvo EX90. US-built and has a 111kW battery. It's just more stately and put-together for the cost.

    • @Allcarnews
      @Allcarnews  Před měsícem +2

      EX90 is still a much larger vehicle and has yet to even hit showrooms. And I can guarantee there will be some quirks to work out in the first run of units as ever new vehicle has. The upcoming three row Cadillac Vistiq will compete with EX90

    It's really ghetto when you see it in person. Just cheap-looking. Tacky, plastic grille cover, thin metal panels that don't flush, and cheap paint that loses gloss quickly, and ioverall just a dumb design. No use as a truck, too big to be a daily driver, no range for travel. It's for people with low self-esteem who want to be seen driving the newest thing, but it's obvious to everyone else that it's a hunk of junk.
    I literalky laughed out loud when I saw one in person. It's comically bad, like... 6000SUX from Robocop bad.

      Tacky and cheap must be your specialty! I literally laughed out loud with your inclusion of the word everyone. The "Low self-esteem" must be only in you. Next time stick to comments about your e-bike - nobody cares.

      Bottom line is you’re a lost cause and the perfect example of the country being in dire need of mass professional help or the next pandemic will be due to a lack of mental health.
      This vehicle is literally the best selling fully electric luxury SUV in the segment. Reread your comment then try making sense out of it. 🤡
