Yoona- Too soft. Yuri - Too throaty. Sooyoung - Too blcoky. Hyoyeon - Lack articulation. Tiffany - Lacks technique. Seohyun - Can't reach that high. But because she has great technique, it sounds pleasantly decent. Taeyeon - Too powerful. Too strong. Parts that needs a decrescendo (softer parts) she can't do well. And so it loses it's original magic. Sunny - Too much vibrato. The closest to me would be Taeyeon, Sunny & Seohyun. *But this just proves Jessica's voice is so prominent in SNSD's songs. Unrivaled and unmatched.*
i would say yuri sound nasally, tiffany got technique, but totally different with jess style... taeyeon got almost same power same strength with jess, except jess got higher tone voice and thinner sound, while taeyeons voice is fuller and lower tone... but from the clip yuri suprise me the most in mr taxi(its yuri not sooyoung singing jess part) yuri change the vibe of that particular part, for me that part suit her more edit: for mr taxi part its sooyoung not yuri, my mistake..

I feel like Seohyun does a great job but then again she can’t reach the high notes as her timbre is the most neutral but when doing Jessica high notes she adds a bit of a husk in the notes. Sunny suits as well but I find Sunny having too much vibratos like you said but also Sunny doesn’t have the Clear(?} in Her voice. Yoona and Sooyoung does well but Yoona is too airy/soft and lacks technique while Sooyoung just doesn’t have the clear(?} in her voice and lacks dynamics in showing herself off, she does a great job covering tho. Yuri cover her lines quite well like in Blue Jeans,ITNW,Mr Mr There are sometimes she’s too heady(Kissing You) Yoona does a great job but she lacks power like in IGAB Sooyoung does a great job but lacks Dynamics such as Vibrato and agility. So i say 5-7 is interchangeable. Maybe (4-7)
taeyeon and Jessica is the top 2 of snsd vocalist. Taeyeon high notes is more powerful while jessica have high pitch and soft high notes. Tiffany just cant reach those powerful or high pitch high notes like taeyeon and jessica. also, tiffany's voice is unstable too unlike seohyun.

its not like they had a choice, we dont know the story yet but recently koreaboo posted about why jessica was "kicked out" that might have been somewhat accurate. so what they say happened was that jessica was planning on going on hiatus and then leaving the group, SM agreed and and in the tokyo dome concert that would be like jessica's goodbye concert thats why they recorded divine and cmiyc to be released at the concert but jessica then said "lol jk i dont want to leave now" but everything was already planned and they considered jessica wasnt taking the group seriously so SM didnt let her back in the group. this might not be true but it makes sense
Yeah Sica's voice is unique and she can hit high notes really well but I think Soshi managed to cover her parts well except for some of Fany's high notes. Yeah it doesn't sound the same cause we're used to hearing Sica's voice. Every member has a different vocal colour so maybe it's not as perfect as Jessica's but they did well enough in my humble opinion. Hope to see Sica release a solo album soon. I miss her voice. And people .. pls stop comparing Snsd and Jessica .. cause I don't think it's right. Things happened but still she was part of the group and in fans hearts she still is .. Let's stay united and support both sides. Jessica started as a Snsd member and built her confidence and developed her talent. Who knows if she would've become a singer if SM didn'y cast her .. who knows how her life would've turned out. The same goes for the other memers too. am i too biased or can no one replace sica's stage presence? she seems to be a lot better at connecting with the audience and just taking over the stage. she lets the music take over her, even the little movements she does during her singing parts can't be easily recreated by the others.
It's not only that Jessica's voice was so distinctive but that she has the highest voice of all nine (including Taeyeon and Sunny) so anyone covering her higher parts is just not going to sound as effortless.
I am not really a kpop fan but youtube brought me here. After watching this, i found out it was a pity to kick Jessica out of the group since she played an important role in most of the songs in past. Nowadays SNSD's new releases are just as common as other girl's groups. I can't hear the special anymore lol.

You can really see now that Jessica was the backbone of SNSD she made the songs pop out especially with her adlibs. The way she pronounces the words and sings is so different from any of the members except Taeyeon ( they basically sing the same ).
the only one who covered jessica's parts flawlessly is only taeyeon, the rest flop. this is why jessica is the second main vocalist and you can't replace jessica's part with someone else and think that it'll still be flawless

Chan Ally Her voice is way too different from Jessica's which make her sound weird when she sing her parts. Also, Jessica's high notes are very smooth while Tiffany struggles to sing the high note properly. It'd be better if they just give it to Sunny.

This is my opinion ok: For me, seeing that Jessica has some of the harder parts in songs, and some of them are given to sub-vocals, it makes me proud of them. But it just isn't the same. Jessica has this soft voice that no one can replace but I'm glad the other members can cover her parts

What really changed is the realization that there were a couple of personalities that just didn't jive. It's not bad that Jessica left...but it is VERY bad on HOW she left. A member was kicked out of the group and many fans just don't like them as much as before. They still can sing good songs but that trust and devotion to them is not the same. All it would take is for the girls to explain their side...and they chose not to. They took the path that complete silence would make fans forget what happened. Some fans will never forget.

Jessica's parts are perfect for her voice. No one can replace that she has that unique soft, angelic, pure, innocent voice that draws you in once you hear it you can never get enough. Not many of the members have that kind of charisma. They are all great in their own way but Jessica's parts are especially meant for her. No other can change that fact. While, Tiffany's a great singer her voice just doesn't relate to Jessica's if you pay attention closely it sounds like she's shouting/screaming/struggling when she goes to those high notes. While, Jessica cruises through it smoothly. Yoona has similar voice to her but she can't really do that high notes. Taeyon's voice is like the opposite of Jessica's it's too strong, too rough which can easily reach those high notes well but the toughness just isn't doing it.The others are good too but it's never going to be the same.

If SM was gonna give a GG member a solo other than Taeyeon, they should have done Sunny or Yoona, but nope. It was given to Tiffany. Yuri - Too throaty.
Sooyoung - Too blcoky.
Hyoyeon - Lack articulation.
Tiffany - Lacks technique.
Seohyun - Can't reach that high. But because she has great technique, it sounds pleasantly decent.
Taeyeon - Too powerful. Too strong. Parts that needs a decrescendo (softer parts) she can't do well. And so it loses it's original magic.
Sunny - Too much vibrato.
The closest to me would be Taeyeon, Sunny & Seohyun.

i would say yuri sound nasally, tiffany got technique, but totally different with jess style... taeyeon got almost same power same strength with jess, except jess got higher tone voice and thinner sound, while taeyeons voice is fuller and lower tone... but from the clip yuri suprise me the most in mr taxi(its yuri not sooyoung singing jess part) yuri change the vibe of that particular part, for me that part suit her more

Sunny suits as well but I find Sunny having too much vibratos like you said but also Sunny doesn’t have the Clear(?} in Her voice.
Yoona and Sooyoung does well but Yoona is too airy/soft and lacks technique while Sooyoung just doesn’t have the clear(?} in her voice and lacks dynamics in showing herself off, she does a great job covering tho.
Taeyeon is very similar to Jessica but she lacks the higher range. I find Taeyeon voice a bit deep for covering Jessica parts but she does a great job.
Hyoyeon is just too Husky and stylistic.

Yeah Sica's voice is unique and she can hit high notes really well but I think Soshi managed to cover her parts well except for some of Fany's high notes. Yeah it doesn't sound the same cause we're used to hearing Sica's voice. Every member has a different vocal colour so maybe it's not as perfect as Jessica's but they did well enough in my humble opinion. Hope to see Sica release a solo album soon. I miss her voice.

This is my opinion ok: For me, seeing that Jessica has some of the harder parts in songs, and some of them are given to sub-vocals, it makes me proud of them. But it just isn't the same. Jessica has this soft voice that no one can replace but I'm glad the other members can cover her parts

Because Sica is gone, the girls are working harder, they have to train like they were on their trainee days and they're pushed to do better. therefore, they're getting better than they were. the members who used to have less lines before, now have more lines and is therefore more recognized. the other members now get more screen time as well.

They'll never be better w/o Jessica. And who cares about lines? Everyone had their role before and everyone had at least one line in most of their songs.
What really changed is the realization that there were a couple of personalities that just didn't jive.
It's not bad that Jessica left...but it is VERY bad on HOW she left. A member was kicked out of the group and many fans just don't like them as much as before. They still can sing good songs but that trust and devotion to them is not the same.
All it would take is for the girls to explain their side...and they chose not to. They took the path that complete silence would make fans forget what happened. Some fans will never forget.

Jessica's parts are perfect for her voice. No one can replace that she has that unique soft, angelic, pure, innocent voice that draws you in once you hear it you can never get enough. Not many of the members have that kind of charisma. They are all great in their own way but Jessica's parts are especially meant for her. No other can change that fact. While, Tiffany's a great singer her voice just doesn't relate to Jessica's if you pay attention closely it sounds like she's shouting/screaming/struggling when she goes to those high notes. While, Jessica cruises through it smoothly. Yoona has similar voice to her but she can't really do that high notes. Taeyon's voice is like the opposite of Jessica's it's too strong, too rough which can easily reach those high notes well but the toughness just isn't doing it.The others are good too but it's never going to be the same.

Tiffany did terrible tbh. Sunny and Taeyeon did the best. Tiffany was off key way to much and she should try not being so loud. Sunny and Taeyeon did a wonderful job covering her parts, but truthfully no one can sound like her, she's so different. No hate on Tiffany but she can't sing. Her voice isn't good. If SM was gonna give a GG member a solo other than Taeyeon, they should have done Sunny or Yoona, but nope. It was given to Tiffany.
And honestly, if you watched one of Tiffany's recent lives for her solo (I will find it and paste the link), she wasn't on key for Talk or IJWD. She sounded horrible on Talk and hardly decent on IJWD. You could say she was being overworked blah blah blah, but even after Taeyeon was doing so well with I and Rain.
