I have been a mechanic over 20 years and lucas is the best lubricant in the automotive world ! I am so happy they have gotten into the gun lube market there formulas are top notch !
It's freakin' GREAT STUFF man! I got a 4 ml "tube" of the Lucas Extreme Duty "Blue-Magic" in the case with my new Sig 226 9mm Legion(awesome gun😎), and then found out that it's Sig's official lubricant that they use in manufacturing and to oil and pack EVERY single new firearm they produce - that's impressive. I've used that little 4 ml tube about 3-4 times on my new Sig, and a couple of times on my Colt M4 and full-size TB XDm 9mm - and I still have 3/4 of that tube left! It's got an awesome look, feel, and smell, and it stays right where you put it. After shooting 100's of rounds and getting my Sig VERY hot, the oil refused to burn off the barrel. It gets 5 golden stars in my book! Will be buying a case of twenty - 1ml bottles w/ the needle applicator of the oil, a couple cans of the cleaner, and a couple tubes of the grease!
This is really good oil. I use Lucas Red bearing grease on the slide wings and groves and Liquid Bearings synthetic oil on the other wear parts. Petroleum oils have have solvents that make them thin. As the solvent evaporates, asphalt is left.
So it's a CLP. I can use it to clean the while gun and barrel? I don't need another product? Its a solvent? I'm confused because I have this and I have hoops 9 cleaning solvent. Is that also a CLP? I only have one pistol. FN503. Thank you!
Rules for lubrication: If it moves, oil it. If it slides, grease it! Your slide rails should be greased, not oiled. Pretty much everything else, like the hammer and trigger, should be oiled.
and 1911s aren't too bad unless you have a 1 piece full length guide rod mine does? I see yours does too, then they become a pain in the butt to take apart then reassemble
good job. so I got some with new sig sauer. I was gonna clean with baulistol then lube rails and his contact points with lucas. any thoughts. I picked up p238 and 1911 nightmare carry tomorrow. thank you for your video.
Only thing I don’t like about Lucas extreme duty is the smell. It smells like motor oil to me. Excellent lube though it makes my guns feel very slick and it holds up to multiple range sessions. I recommend it.
Smells like motor oil because it is. It’s just the Lucas synthetic motor oil repackaged. No they make more profit by selling you a small quality for higher price.
I Lucas oil red and tacky on moving parts and synthetic motor oil on the barrel and a touch on feed ramps. 1 tub of grease and one bottle of oil will last a lifetime
I bought the same bottle you have and mine doesn't have that tacky feel like yours does. Mine is a thin runny oil. When I pull my fingers apart with it there is no tackiness or stringing. Maybe they changed their formula or I got a lemon. But I also bought a bottle of the CLP and it does the same thing. I bought it from Brownells.
Joel Back - No, I bought several bottles of the gun oil and CLP, both are thin, doesn't have the tackiness that I've heard described. I think they changed their formula.
I shoot maybe 4k in 6 months and just use tube grease. Stays were u put it. Slick till you feel like u want to change . Had the same tube for the last 9 years lol
Never heard of Ballistol hurting any polymer check out their Web site. It's also eco friendly, no Carcinogens and skin safe. Can't say that about most oils.
Ballistol won't hurt polymer. Believe Hickok did a vid on ballistol. He uses it on all his guns. I use it on my two wonder nines, my xd9 mod 2 and Sig p250. Never had any issues.
The number one reason I bought this bottle was because of the applicator tip get home and I open it and nothing comes out the applicator tip is clogged and yes I pulled off the red cap but nothing will come out of the metal tip ? It cost me five dollars for this one little bottle at the gun shop of course I don’t have the receipt and they won’t exchange it has anybody had this issue with this metal tip applicator not working it does not matter how hard I squeeze the bottle the thing is clogged?
I bought some Lucas extreme duty on ebay or amazon a while back. Mine smells like ass or something! I'm wondering if it is the real thing. I don't even use it because it smells so bad!
I have been using Lucas Oil for a few months already and have had no issues with it. I like the smell of it too. Even after 200 rounds I can smell the oil. I have purchased Lucas Gun Grease just the other day. If any of you have used it, let me know ehatnyou think. Thanks.
Jose Espinoza forget those little tubes there a rip off. Get a 14 oz jar of Redline CV-2 with red moly from Amazon free shipping. Take the tip of a needle and apply the grease. You can read about Redline CV-2 with red moly grease. If you like oil check out Ballistol. a 14 oz bottle from Amazon is about $17.00 free shipping. Read the history of Ballistol.

@@scottsc63edwards86 So you can't use a firearm even if its stored properly? So if someone breaks into your home with a gun or machete you can't use deadly force?
I stop using that because for one is stinks really, really bad and to the price I can get for that bottle I can literally get a quart of royal purple motor oil which that served me well for years. Also I have noticed that burns off a little quicker than royal purple. If I want a lubricant that smells well it's clenzoil
walter w You sound like you’ve shot less than 5 guns in your entire life. I see Glocks fail all the time, same as any other gun that isn’t properly cared for.

Im loving it! going to grab some more next week
It's on the counter @ Oreilly Auto Parts...

I totally agree. I am going to have to buy some more thats for sure
right on !
I love the application tip it really helps oil the trigger group on any gun so you won’t have to take em completely apart

thank you again. I will . keep up the good work. I enjoy your video's.
Can you use it on top of the g96 spray after I use it to clean the gun?

Would I need the Lukas clp also after using the Lukas gun oil?
I used Hoppes 9 for years but hate the smell on my hands and rags.
I look forward to trying Lucas for better smell and good performance.
I think you'll like it
Robert G best smell ever
Didn't see much about the actual oil in this video, but a rambling tangental discussion about....
True.
I store worker gave me samples like enough samples for the next 10 years
Rules for lubrication: If it moves, oil it. If it slides, grease it!
Your slide rails should be greased, not oiled. Pretty much everything else, like the hammer and trigger, should be oiled.
Yep...thats an old mechanics saying. It's the truth too.
What you use now? I know this video is old. But my dries up to fast for me
+1 on the Ballistol cough! fyi if you ballistol your razor blades they stay sharper. Im gonna buy Lucas gun oil on your recommendation. thanks.
Awesome thanks for the tip. I don't think you will be dissapointed. Make sure u follow up with me once u get it
My wife used to complain of the smells when I cleaned guns in the house…. Has not been the case with the Lucas.. it really does smell less obnoxious
The gun oil of lucas is the same in Europe because i can't find this product
and 1911s aren't too bad unless you have a 1 piece full length guide rod mine does? I see yours does too, then they become a pain in the butt to take apart then reassemble
I hear ya. but once u do a few times its not too bad

thats exactly what i do Ballistol to clean and then lucas to lube. Wow that nightmare i heard is awesome. Enjoy
@@CanadianGearAddict So you clean everything with ballistol, wipe it down and use the lucas on the contact points?
@@John5.56 correct
Hoppes #9 solvent and some synthetic 10W-30 motor oil is all you really need for any gun, but ive used this stuff and its great.
Were you referring to Hoppes #9 cleaner or Hoppes oil as harsh? I thought we were talking about oils, not solvents. You lost me on that.
Best oil, only one I used and yeah the smell is good
How did u polish your gun what did u use love it
lots of elbow grease. LOL. I used FLITZ
Nice review
carl gustav thanks I appreciate it
Has anyone else tried Boesheild T9? It is a lubricant developed by Boeing Aircraft Company. It dries to a clear waxy finish and is amazing!

I Lucas oil red and tacky on moving parts and synthetic motor oil on the barrel and a touch on feed ramps. 1 tub of grease and one bottle of oil will last a lifetime
the red has no smell for hunting
Ps.. camera angle and distance Is perfect!
“Safety check it” LMAO

not suppose to be tacky!
If it's thin and runny, that might be the fishing reel oil (which is great in guns too). I use it along with the red lucas gun lube.
Joel Back - No, I bought several bottles of the gun oil and CLP, both are thin, doesn't have the tackiness that I've heard described. I think they changed their formula.
hmm weird.
Sent my shot gun to Benelli for repair and they sent me back this oil ,,works great !!
i personally like it as well

what brand of gun lock is that?
Its called a parklands. Got it at a local store
I see! thanks!
We don't need no stinking gun lock !

crafm.com for all the lucas oil products and ballistol products, ships flats rate so better off doing a yearly order.
Smell like rear differential oil , but good it is a good oil . It stays where you put and not evaporate after shooting 500 Rounds
Sorry about all the anti gun laws. Can a law abiding Canadian ccw carry?
No we cannot

Oriley's Auto parts carry it. its on a display next to check out, if you are in America
