    Certainly not the Shotokan Heian Godan I teach. Technically incorrect.

      Agreed Alan, very suspect moves there. Why would the front leg step back only to then step forward??? Ignoring the fact that technically it's wrong (as part of the kata), from a bunkai perspective it's even worst as you've just weakened the punch. The purpose of that punch is to knock the opponent out, but at the very least, unbalance/ disrupt them.

    The best bunkai I've ever watched; so well broken into parts that it's easy to understand. it doesnt't matter if it is another variant of Heian Godan (and there are some!), it is a great application and masterfully done

    thank you for your interpretation! it seems that many sensei here don'tfully understand the modesty and hubleness typical of a karateka. there is always something to learn, even from basic things.

    • @vickyadams6265

      Disagreed. Not if the technique is being performed incorrectly. How can one learn if it's logically and biomechanically wrong???

    There are arm trapping techniques that you guys have omitted. Karate is not simple punching and kicking but also a lot of arm trapping and joint breaking. Appreciate the effort however. Osu !

    Karate or better Okinawa Karate was designed for the street. Okinawa Karate fighters was fought against Samurai fighters and not trained for belts and throphies. Heian or Pinan kata has a complete self defense fighting system. Yes, If you jump like a kangarou, stand in hike te or perform only one attack to your opponent, than Karate is not for the street and yes you can learn self defence faster with other styles like Karate (Krav maga...), but if you have time and you can translete the Kata, than you can use Karate for the street.

      @Alundert1 Před 6 lety

      Christian Kaminski finally someone that knows about it. I hate todays intepretation of kata. Many argue that it wasnt meant for street fighting, but in fact it was. Some even say itvwas developed to look good. Thanks mate gor your Statement. I guess you are also into kyusho jitsu? Correct me if Im mistaken

    • @Hikieblitz
      @Hikieblitz Před 10 měsíci

      Completely agree how I see kata there would be a lot more ending up on the ground and not constantly oi tsuki jodan as the attack(but for example also being grabbed by the waist, over the arms, the neck the hands ect.) there are so many different outcomes for one technique that aren't being shown as people constantly see kata as karateka against karateka. Perfect stance vs perfect stance a predetermined fight instead of a random one.

    Notei várias críticas nos comentários. Achei um exagero. Quem está por dentro das últimas atualizações e discussões a respeito do Bunkai, sabe muito bem que há uma polêmica por conta da falta de padronização na execução dos movimentos. Muitos documentos históricos do estilo Shotokan foram perdidos durante incêndios em Okinawa, há realmente uma dificuldade em se comprovar como seria o próprio Heian Godan original, por exemplo. Assim sendo, o Kata executado no vídeo está sim fora dos conformes ensinados dentro da escola Shotokan, porém o Bunkai apresentado foi adaptado de acordo com a lógica dos golpes, estando sim bem formulado. Até hoje nunca encontrei um vídeo ou professor ensinando uma única movimentação possível dentro da categoria dos Heian, por exemplo. Existem vários estilos de Bunkai possíveis, tanto que muitos vídeos mostram somente "partes" do Kata, deixando outras a desejar e fora da execução original. A ação lenta do 3º kyodo utilizado atualmente, é algo que pela lógica não faz sentido, seria mais um "enfeite", por ser lento e suave. Concluindo, eu diria que é sim uma boa adaptação. Gostei do vídeo. Caso alguém conheça algum vídeo "melhor" com a associação "COMPLETA" dos movimentos, favor postar abaixo, tenho interesse em aprender.

    Each to their own I guess but I'm sorry from my perspective there are too many incorrect techniques in here which not only show an incorrect version of the kata (in my opinion) but make the bunkai weak and unrealistic.

    La vidéo est étrange. Dans un combat réel, personne n'attend dans la même position que le Kata. Les kata sont composés de mouvement exagérés pour travailler les chaînes musculaires. Un bankai doit retirer l'exagération. C'est donc paradoxal de garder cette exagération

    Osu, but karate is a long way to learn. In my experiences, it's not recommended for someone (adults) who want's to "take the skills fast for defence of themself". But I know that boxing is simple way to learn fast by adults.
