Drizzle and Drought in Gen 5 gave a free 1.5x boost to STAB for most of your team, reduced the damage of moves you most likely wouldn't run, synergized with Abilities that _doubled_ a mon's Speed, and still stacked with items. And those Abilities were given to _Politoed and Ninetales_ out of all mons, eventually being given to more mons down the line. The only reason why those Abilities and Sand Stream (and not Snow Warning, sorry Abomasnow) aren't banned to Ubers in that gen is because they are all simultaneously broken and step on each other's feet. My crack at fixing Parental Bond: The power split is now 25%:75% for the baby and mom respectively. No increase in power at all but still very useful for breaking sash, Sturdy, etc. Then make it so only the Mom's attack can activate secondary effects; no more busted PuP. Finally, i'd have the baby attack first. That's actually a buff because often times that's just enough to break a sub and the more substantial second hit actually strikes the target. Oh and ofc we'd need to have Seismic Toss and the like have their damage split properly.
@ThisIsntACZcamsr Look I don't agree with the other guy but, I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion when the guy literally said the suggested change would only apply the secondary effect once "only the Mom's attack can activate secondary effects"

Zen Mode Galarian Darmanitan with Z-Belly Drum and an even HP Stat is so fun since it doesn't need to survive a Hit to enter Zen Mode, plus if it's slower than the Opponent it gets healed from any Damage it took thanks to Z-Belly Drum, and likely outspeeds it by the next Turn thanks to it's busted Stats in Zen, allowing it to sweep since almost no Pokemon resists all of it's 3 possible attacking Moves' Types.

One of those ones where the problem is the mon they give it to rather than the idea itself.
Isn't the entire point of abilities to break the rules? I mean yea, these are examples of some unique abilities only seen on a particular mon. But you could easily make a follow up video on this topic about widespread abilities, like Levitate, Prankster, Defiant/Competitive etc.
Im sad they gave Gorilla Tactics to G-Darmanitan because on 1 hand Holy Bingle Finally A Functional Offensive Ice-type but on the other Funny Fire Snowman
Honestly if you were to just remove secondary effects from the second hit, or just remove secondary effects all together, and then keep the 25% damage increase it would probably be fine. It wouldn’t be any better than existing abilities like tough claws or sheer force
I feel sad when stuff gets merged regardless of my personal attachment to a Pokémon or its strength, but I feel like PB makes less sense at 25 than 50. They could’ve done some coding magic to make it so the second hit doesn’t trigger secondary effects or something which would be more interesting while keeping the core strength of the mega there
Here I was expecting more "let me on the field already!!!!" stuff that bypasses obvious checks like corrosion, fields, mind's eye, and good as gold. But I guess those were done to death at various other points.
I really liked belly drum Zen Mode Garmanitan, and was sorry to see it banished to Ubers with its choice banded brother. I thought it was fun how the alternative form version of zen mode was extremely not zen, and Ice/Fire typing had me googling the type effectiveness chart because wtf is that typing, so silly.

Gen 10 Hyper Rayquaza with 210/255/210/255/210/255 stat distribution and "Fuck You" which grants it immunity to all status, crits, grants the user Hugest Power (new ability that makes your attack infinite), and also gives it unaware, magic guard, Ice Scales, Fluffy and Mold Breaker
people complaining about gorilla tactics like a base 95 speed physical mono ice type with poor defenses was ever going to accomplish anything without it
Galarian Darmanitan is the funniest pokemon to exist, like why is it built like that. If you thought Zen Mode on the OG Darm was actually really underwhelming, you haven't even seen Galarmanitan's Zen Mode. Same speed tier at 135 as Flutter Mane and Chien Pao, 160 base Atk in the same tier as Hero Palafin and Regigigas, and Belly Drum puts it into exact trigger range
i, for one, welcome more busted abilities being given to birds (they tried with toxic chain but fezandipiti got the worst hand imaginable though) also gen 7 parental bond is actually 25% but yeah it's still too much
I guess they wanted to make its stats crappy because it learns multi-hit moves? A 5-hit Tail Slap is practically a guaranteed Toxic Chain trigger but almost nobody's going to run it
gen 3 gave azu huge power and medicham pure power, which are both just guerrilla tactics without the drawback. the busted part isn’t the ability, it’s the pokémon the ability’s on.
I still want Parental Bond back on basic Kanga. Her stats are nowhere near as good as Mega Kanga, and with moves being per game GF can make sure she doesn’t get Power-Up Punch or Seismic Toss any more. With Gen 9 power creep I think it’d be alright. Also really hope Legends ZA has abilities, at least for their Megas. So many like Kanga, Gengar, and Pinsir were defined by their abilities.
Surprised Serene Grace wasn't there. Doubling the flinch status and paralyze chance makes fighting some mons a complete coin flip. You haven't felt true fear until half your team is paralyzed against a iron head Jirrachi or Air Slash Togekiss. Like sure, heatran is an amazing answer to Jirrachi... Unless it gets paralyzed on switch in or flinched to death. Like I'm pretty sure Kings Rock was banned because of skill link pokemon.... Which still have lower chance to flinch on attacks.
I am not sure what you mean by "breaking the rules". based on your video it can be argued that all abilities that activate when the opponent is making contact with you are "breaking the rules" even if the abilities themselves are considered balanced and even underpowered. also it can be argued that shedinja's ability wonder guard is "breaking the rules" since there is not a single neutral hit you can land on this thing. and lets not forget ursifu's unseen fist which was designed to ignore protect.
All of these (asides from gorilla tactics to be fair) break how many moves you can use in a turn, and then gulp missile is a new mechanic that auto paras on hit which is a completely unique thing from any mechanic. I chose these instead of Unseen Fist because I already have an Urshifu video, would seem too easy to me.

Isn't the entire point of abilities to break the rules? I mean yea, these are examples of some unique abilities only seen on a particular mon. But you could easily make a follow up video on this topic about widespread abilities, like Levitate, Prankster, Defiant/Competitive etc.
What about another rule breaking ability: Unseen Fist
Urshifu not being here is WILD
Gulp missle should have work with more stuff like wave crash and waterfall
Im sad they gave Gorilla Tactics to G-Darmanitan because on 1 hand Holy Bingle Finally A Functional Offensive Ice-type but on the other Funny Fire Snowman
Honestly if you were to just remove secondary effects from the second hit, or just remove secondary effects all together, and then keep the 25% damage increase it would probably be fine. It wouldn’t be any better than existing abilities like tough claws or sheer force
Balance aside I do think being broken because of an ability is always way more interesting than mons who have a good typing + good stat spread
For those who don't know, the parental bond body slam coin flip is actually weighted TOWARDS a paralysis.
30% + 30% = 51%
Fun fact, gulp missile bypasses substitute
It’s insanely scary
I will never not be cheesed by the simple existence of an ability like Huge Power. Like, it’s just a flat attack boost, no cost no requirement.
Final slide op
I guarantee you they’ll add some nonsense like Heavy Duty Boots+Sheer Force as an ability next gen, GF can’t help themselves.
Mark my words, you’ll all call me a heretic, but you’ll see, you’ll ALL SEE
Gen 10 Hyper Rayquaza with 210/255/210/255/210/255 stat distribution and "Fuck You" which grants it immunity to all status, crits, grants the user Hugest Power (new ability that makes your attack infinite), and also gives it unaware, magic guard, Ice Scales, Fluffy and Mold Breaker
@@kingambitreal It only has a specific niche in UU
I saw cramorant and thought this was a pokemon tcg video lmao
what about mega rayquaza with delta stream bringing a whole new weather effect for the sole purpose of defending it
I feel like Parental Bond would've been fine if they just made it so that secondary effects don't proc on the second hit.
people complaining about gorilla tactics like a base 95 speed physical mono ice type with poor defenses was ever going to accomplish anything without it
Every ability breaks the rules, thats the point. Even garbage like Keen Eye make you immune to certain effects, but thats what theyre for.
Mirror armor
Galarian Darmanitan is the funniest pokemon to exist, like why is it built like that. If you thought Zen Mode on the OG Darm was actually really underwhelming, you haven't even seen Galarmanitan's Zen Mode. Same speed tier at 135 as Flutter Mane and Chien Pao, 160 base Atk in the same tier as Hero Palafin and Regigigas, and Belly Drum puts it into exact trigger range
That why i love Cramorant
when are we getting a pokemon with an ability that's a free life orb
i, for one, welcome more busted abilities being given to birds (they tried with toxic chain but fezandipiti got the worst hand imaginable though)
also gen 7 parental bond is actually 25% but yeah it's still too much
fez got screwed. also, thanks for the correction.
The only problem with nerfing PB is it's the only mega on par with Rayquaza in VGC, so it almost becomes Ray's signature ability.
Who made fezandipity statspread? It looks like a gen 1 or 2 mon. Average at everything, good at nothing. Shame because it has really good design
you could tell me fezandipiti's stat spread was AI-generated and i'd believe you
I guess they wanted to make its stats crappy because it learns multi-hit moves? A 5-hit Tail Slap is practically a guaranteed Toxic Chain trigger but almost nobody's going to run it
gen 3 gave azu huge power and medicham pure power, which are both just guerrilla tactics without the drawback. the busted part isn’t the ability, it’s the pokémon the ability’s on.
I like to use zen mode garmanitan more then gorilla tactics because no one expects to use it
We needed to ban Mega Kangaskhan to encourage responsible parenting.
I still have nightmares with chalk. I stopped competitive Pokemon partly due to vgc2015

Good video
I clicked for the moon thank you very much
cramorant mentioned 🥳 i love goofy bird
dancer interactions that are dumb:
it copies kmmo-o's omniboost, clangorous soul, very funny randbats interaction.
You forget gale wings talonflame.
Truant is so broken that it causes a low tier god to struggle.
What about unseen fist?
Parental bond: exists
Pokemon elite redux: time to give it to some mons and rename it
Hyper Aggressive is nothing compared to the unparalleled might of Multi-Headed Charge Beam Magnezone
@@ElectricWindGirlFriend
okay but the abilities that I mentioned can also be seen as doing aditional moves.
rough skin is basically a damage dealing attack with a percentage-based damage.
static is basically thunderwave.
@@videakias3000 yeah these aren’t the only ones. There’s a lot that fit into this category, I just chose the most absurd examples.
I think Gardevoir should get Dancer
Mind if I steal this video format but make it infinitely worse (i.e. no commentary and shittier PowerPoints) cheers
