This channel came up on my feed and I scrolled through some older videos to find this one. My in-laws house is the one burning on the right around the 14:00 mark. My daughter had spent the night with her cousins and you can see them running out of the house.
It has been almost 3 years and this video brings on tears. I am so grateful for the work you all do and that everyone for out of the house safely. The quick work from all the firefighter involved that day saved both houses from being completely destroyed.

great as all ways. kinda surprised that you didnt say anything about that big commercial/industrial fire on June 14th. saw Southwest Fire Buff's vid of mostly South Metro, with west metro, and west douglas responding/arrival.

@SouthMetroFireRescue apparatus trading cards are a great idea! Also, when I was a kid growing up in Columbia, Missouri, I remember getting some personnel trading cards from the fire department there, and I can think of a few people currently working for South Metro whose trading cards would probably be immensely popular ;-)
Maybe you guys could even try out fire station trading cards? That'd be cool, I think!

Now, I have a question for you guys. I’ve noticed on pulsepoint that you guys send tower units to traffic collisions, is there any reason for that? Thank you!
The towers are sent as normal supression units and they respond to any calls that they get in their first due which includes medicals, mva's, fire alarms, etc.

Where I live we also have a parade. It have fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, and marching bands from around the County.
That house fire that started on the deck. If they didn't build houses that close together? We wouldn't have that problem.
We have to same ¼ acre lot subdivisions here in Virginia. Exposure structures catching is always a concern.

Never really thought about that but could you put a smoke alarm in a garage or would it just not function properly?
Yes, you could put one in the garage, its just more common inside the house and required. Some people have carbon monoxide detectors in a garage but it's annoying, your vehicle can set it off just by starting it. They also make smoke and fire detectors for attics.

My city uses Nixle and tell when roads are closed or restricted and won’t allow any traffic even if you live on the road through… are streets can barely fit a parked car and a driving car.

Yes I believe he was, he was the first apparatus from SMFR that was on scene when I got there
I'm actually planning on moving to the centennial area next year after I graduate from high school! I'm planning on becoming a firefighter. Thanks to my school, I already have some experience in full gear, on air, with a hose. I'm excited to join and hope to do my best!
