  • Hello CZcamsrs! Row along with me on the water here in Scotland as I train on a beautiful morning. Flat water, little bit of mist and almost nobody around. Great opportunity to get out there and have some fun working on technique as well as appreciating the amazing environment! A different head cam view for a little bit of variation to see my single sculling technique from a different angle. The view itself was filmed on a gopro fusion 360 camera. Enjoy!

    In a former life (about 18 years ago) I have walked this whole stretch with a trundle wheel and marked it out in 500m stretches- Its still a lovely place to row. and lovely memories of the 500m inlet, 1km clump, Pylons, metal fence at about 2500m etc.

    Thanks man!
    This video has been helping me to get into rowing.
    I set up the water rower in front of the tv and get into sync mode.
    I get more out of the work out and am rowing more in general.

    That water is so calming to watch everything. In a skull is it always left over right? And is the right side arm lower to compensate?

    • @CameronBuchan
      @CameronBuchan  Před 3 lety +13

      Not 100% of the time but most people scull left over right I'm pretty sure. In my boat the right rigger is lower than the left to compensate slightly for this

    • @lindaha
      @lindaha Před 3 lety +11

      There was a time, as far as I know, when every club could choose whether they rowed left over right or vice versa. In Germany most clubs in the west would do left over right and in the east the other way round. But my club in the west was doing right over left (my dad told me that). After the reunion of the two Germanies it was standardized to left over right.
      So that's the story for Germany, maybe it was similar in other countries?

    • @coupercarpenter770
      @coupercarpenter770 Před 3 lety +2

    Excellent video! It would be nice if it’s not to much trouble for you to combine recordings like this for 60 minutes to be used for erg workouts. Perhaps start with 30 minutes.
    For those of you asking why Cam doesn’t have a better launch platform, you should see my club. I have to be away from the dock in less than 45 seconds or risk flipping or damaging the boat. Now with COVID I do a beach launch which requires me to be in the water up to my ass. Some days I have 2 to 3 foot surfs, which means I have to time the waves to not wipe out.
    Thanks again, please keep those videos coming!

    That narrow bridge... Directly at the beginning... Can ruin the whole training.... Otherwise this is a dreamy, windless smooth water.... Great perspective, as well.
