      I wish that Sam actually took her advice to heart and not threatened Tory at school. Yes I understand why she did it since Tory has done a lot of shitty things to her; starting the school fight, attacking her with her spike bracelet causing Sam to have PTSD, encouraging Hawk to break Demetri's arm, and leading the Cobra's to attack her house. But while I understand she doesn't trust Tory she could've at least hear her out and say "I won't fight you before the tournament but if you hurt me, my brother or anyone before the tournament I'll be coming for you." Which I think would kinda deselect any tension they would have. While some of you think mentioning her brother would be a pretty stupid mistake I don't think Tory would attack her brother since she has a little brother too and wouldn't want anyone to hurt him either. It would make Sam a little bit more likeable and would even cause a moment of reflection from Tory.

    My favorite part is how Kreese grew. It just shows that no matter how twisted his ideology was, he truly did love Johnny like a son. It was a left turn seeing Kreese seeing Johnny's point of view after the past seasons of him being by his side and still was adamant about being number 1. And goes to show that no matter how many times he felt betrayed by Johnny not following his ideology to a tea, he still loves him. It's just sad that it took him all this time to realize that, I mean if he was there after the end of KK1 for Johnny, maybe Johnny wouldn't have ended up the way he is now, though, I'm loving that he didn't because he was a really good villain. There’s a scene I noticed that foreshadows Terry betraying Kreese. In episode 7, Terry is seen reading the book Leviathan.
    The main idea of Leviathan is that if the government abuses its power, then the people have the right to overthrow it.

They need to have other dojos represented in the series from time to time otherwise this claim that The Valley has this fixation on karate is being exaggerated. I think the show has become popular enough to make the episodes longer or just add more episodes.
    Also, there are quite a few students in all the dojos that have been around long enough to get some speaking lines and even some character development. It's weird to have these guys (and sometimes, girls) around but they don't add much or anything to the show.

This is why I had a feeling Robby wouldn’t win, bc it doesn’t foreshadow him building towards anything meaningful until at end when he realizes and sees all of his own flaws in kenny . I also like Robby and very happy to see that at end, writers are implying there’s a lot more story to tell for me, likely undergoing an arc similar to Tory/ hawk before next tournament

    Everything in this season was a roller coaster of emotions from uncontrollable laughter to uncontrollable tears. The scene that got me was the revelation of Johnny's childhood when he first learned his Mom was getting hitched to Sid. RIP by the way to Ed Asner. That scene bleeds right into the Sail Away song by Christopher Cross which was the perfect storm for turning on the waterworks for me. This scene perfectly captures Johnny's anxt about telling Miguel about him and Carmen's relationship. The setup and payoff writing in this show is unlike anything I have ever seen. If writing screenplays was likened to Karate, then these writers are the new Senseis.

      Aiesha is probably one of the most underrated and under used characters. I hope she comes back she was one of my favorites. I wonder if she studies martial arts in her new town. That could be interesting maybe if she seeks out a new sensei it could be how Julie Pierce returns. Her style could be different since Julie Pierce had some Martial arts skills prior to meeting Miyagi (noted by how she leaped over the car in Next Karate Kid). Miyagi only trained her for a couple of weeks so her Training might include some Miyagi do, but she may have developed further afterwards. Also since the actress Hillary Swank trained and stared in a movie on Boxing (Million Dollar Baby) her style could include alot more punching than Miyagi do. Nicole Brown would probably do well portraying that style of martial arts

      After Season 3 I though of 3 ways Hillary Swank's Julie could be reintroduced. one way I though might her being a therapist /probation officer for Tory and Robby ( I base this being that her training in Miyagi do was more Zen at the Monastery and might have inspired her to be a therapist). The other is her working for the zoo ( she was tending to a bird in her movie) , where the Cobra Kai students stole the Cobra from. But a better idea might be that she joined the military, ( her boyfriend was trying to get into the U.S.A.F academy, plus her grandfather was Miyagi's commander thus she comes from a family with a military legacy). Her being in the Military opens many possible plot ideas, she maybe Kenny's fathers commander, She also might have access to information about Kreese and Silver's history, perhaps they were discharged under less than honorable conditions. Another Possibly Since her Grandfather was Military with Miyagi , could her father have been in the military also and served with Kreese? When Miyagi first meets Julie she avoids being hit by the a car using a martial art move, thus indicating she has some previous training or exposure to martial arts.

    Kreese seemed to grow jealous of Silver as the episodes went. It’s clear to me that he realized that Silver was just simply better than he was for many reasons. His teaching style was more effective, as was his ability to out think him. I can’t imagine that Kreese could take Silver in a fight either. With his money, abilities and connections, Silver is going to be Kreeses worst nightmare.
    Which is fitting because Kreese helped create this monster.

    • @danielporter9685
      @danielporter9685 Před 2 lety +2

      You're right. That is why Kreese pulled rank. He used his rank as a weapon to put Silver in a subordinate position. Kreese knew that Silver was loyal and respectful to "captain Kreese" . But, it looks like Kreese went to the well one too many times.

    • @fitzgeraldjamesjjr
      @fitzgeraldjamesjjr Před 2 lety

      I think Kreese could take Silver in a fight , but in the long run. The quick silver Method is for exactly that a quick defeat, but if a battle were to go long Silver might not be prepared.
      Johnny repeatedly trains to fight even when disabled, he was the only one to counter the Miyagi Do Paralyzing moves. Kreese Trained Johnny thus Kreese is the type to find a way to survive. Even in Season 3 Prior to Joining the Army , he takes a few bullying incidents and defeats from the bully at the dinner before he defeats him.
      One thing Kreese has shown he will kill anyone who disrespect those he loves, Kreese was loyal to his commander in Vietnam, till he found out his commander hid the death of his girlfriend. I believe Kreese has a strange Love of Johnny, he made Johnny and Johnny was the son he never had . Terry going after Johnny may unleash the coiled cobra in Kreese.
      Plus I think Silvers money may soon be trumped by Sato Money ( now Chosen's money) and possibly Johnny may soon inherit Sids wealth

    Not only does Sam perform kata to focus (like what Daniel does with Seiyunchin in III), she also employs several techniques from a number of Shuri-te kata (namely Passai sho and either Chinto or Shito-ryu's adaptation of Rohai)
    The weird thing Cobra-Kai has done with its kata? They've seemingly retconned the provenance of Miyagi-do despite still featuring the real Chojun Miyagi's picture on a number of occasions. With the addition of all those Shuri-te kata that they've been doing since S2 (that is, since the weird mixture of Naha-te's Seiyunchin and Shuri-te's Kusanku Dai that they used for the balance exercise), It's no longer pure Okinawan Goju-ryu/Naha-te. Rather it seems that some historical revisionism has taken place, and now Miyagi-do is basically Shito-ryu (a comparably newer, mainland Japanese style that amalgamates most of the major Okinawan kata from Shuri, Naha and Tomari-te styles)

    • @stevenpietrzak2146
      @stevenpietrzak2146 Před 2 lety +1

      I think Miyagi do has an identity problem. They want to give a legitimacy to the style by using the name Miyagi but from the first movies Demura being a Shito Ryu practitioner ,the choreography, when you watch his fighting is clearly not Goju.
