- This line has become known for releasing a ton of mostly good figures with some stinkers mixed in. So far, these Super Hero figures haven't quite lived up to expectations. Will this new body mold finally give fans the figure they want or will they be stuck with another improvement that immediately needs more improvements?

My favorite Gohan design is future Gohan. I like how he takes Goku's gi and does small changes to make it his own. And his hair is better.

Always thought Gohan looked best with the purple gi, so glad it's back with his Super Hero look. Excellent review Anthony, very solid points. I definitely prefer this new body over the 2.0. Excited to see where Tamashii Nations takes it with future releases!
He looks kinda wierd with the orange. It looks like he's trying to fill goku's shoes especially when he's got the Goku boots. Giving him the piccolo gi just fits him better overall
I get the feeling they put the most budget into gohan out of the 4 movie releases. Hopefully we get a lot more good and inexpensive figures in the future
Definitely a big fan of SSJ 2 Teen Gohan. That famous expression on his face of pure rage is rather badass

My favourite Gohan design is the one with blue gi before the Buu saga. he also wore that in the Broly movie -Second Coming

I am actually more interested in the Gama 1 & 2 figures than the saiyans. Especially Goku and Vegeta. The two Gamas are cool looking and are quite interesting in the movie with some emotional scenes too
My favorite is Ultimate Gohan with Namek Gohan being second. In the Namek Saga Gohan was more willing to throw hands with the enemy compared to when he fough Cell (before SSJ2 transformation).
I really like the look of Gohan when he has the saiyaman suit but without the helmet. The green top with black compression to me is 10/10🔥
I am a fan of the Ultimate Gohan with Goku's Gi and Teen Gohan!
As for this figure, I am glad they're finally introducing bulkier bodies and better ankle joints. I am a bit bummed out they are adding extra pieces with the other androids. Really, I wouldn't have minded paying 70 or 80 bucks for a Gohan with all those accessories.
I really appreciate everything you do because it was your channel that got me into sh figure arts. I was so nervous to try and collect them because I heard they break easily and etc.

I would be totally fine with them making us buy two other characters for accessories if it was kind of like a build a figure situation where they cost the same as him. What makes this completely ridiculous is that these characters that you don't want that you have to buy to get the pieces, cost way more than the character you want. So I have to spend $140 if I want all of the pieces to this $40 figure
I like Gohan's design in the second Broly movie which is the same as his purple gi in the buu saga but the, for lack of a better name" the "socks" he has are white instead of red which i think makes it look slightly better. I dunno if it counts as great Saiyaman but i LOVE how gohan looks when he removes his helmet and bandana and it's just his face in super saiyan 2 with the great saiyaman outfit
Yeah, the Great Saiyaman base outfit w/o the helmet and accessories always looked the best to me. It's the most unique outfit since it's like a combination of a traditional gi and saiyan body suit.
Gohan's ankles are weird but I wish Piccolo had actual ankle rockers like this figure does. That's by far my biggest gripe with that figure.
In hand, this one looks very good, his joints are tight, the plastic quality on this one is so good too
Favourite is Kid Gohan or his Blue Buu Saga gi (excluding Great Saiyaman)
Looking a lot better than the other the other Super-Hero figures released so far. Also like the 3.0. Body mould but I do agree the sculpted cheeks are unnecessary. Strong enough body update I'd be happy ro see be used foe characters like Cell Saga Yamcha but not as big of a jump that I feel I'd buy 3.0. of all Goku's forms again.

I think the Gammas look cool >_>... I think people will be more excited for them once they've seen the movie, Toriyama is really good at introducing new characters into DB and having them fit right in (Beerus, Whis, Jaco, Hit, Broly, Cheelai, etc..) I do think it was dumb for them to make the preorder window so far in advanced that nobody has seen the movie those expensive figures debut in.
Gonna have ta disagree there my good sir, from what I’ve read on forums and my own opinion nooooooobody like Beerus at all because he’s up his own arse and is faaaaar too OP. The Gammas will fade into obscurity
Whilst I agree on liking new characters like Hit and especially Beerus (too bad they fallen into obscurity) having watched the movie in terms of character and personality Gamma 2 was good but 1 felt like a non-entity character in comparison. As for the designs too I don't really care much for them.

Personally, i don't like gama 1 and gama 2 desing. I do like their personalities, but i will not pay that amount of money for them, that just is not going to happen. Even if they have the Gohan accesories. Maybe if the design were more badass, maybe, but it doesn't
Favorite Gohan /Gohan outfit is probably Great Saiyaman, would love to see more Mystic? UItimate? Gohan in that outfit. The thing I really like about these more basic SH Figuarts like this or the new Frieza is that they're only slightly more expensive and are usually better as far as figures go. I really hope we continue seeing more and more improvements from SH Figuarts in their more budget friendly figures

I really hope they eventually give us a 2.0 teem gohan with this style of body but smaller obviously. The 1.0 is still good but the lack of torso range kills it

Surprisingly the gammas ended up becoming my quick favorites after watching the movie, so l especially gamma 2(only because he was l wears blue and blue is my favorite color), so I will be buying this figures anyway. But overall, looks like a solid figure will definitely pick them up soon
Future Gohan is my favorite look for Gohan.
Mine, too. He's my ultimate dream SHF figure, next to Piccolo (which thankfully, we got).

I'm very partial to this look or the Buu adult gohan. The hair feels a little 'tight' to me, I feel like I imaging the strands/clumps being thicker, and the spikes being more outward. This execution feels a little coneheaded. But the glasses head in the other figure is my favorite. I love the new arms and shoulders, they remind me of the best parts of Kid Goku's. I'm hoping it'll allow for more cross arm movement. Maybe with future tweaking. Crotch I could take or leave.
This new body looks and moves pretty well, my only problem is with the QC issues from the new Vietnam factory. I've got a few figures from this new factory and they definitely are rougher than earlier ones made in China.
About the head ball joint, it's of course much better than the 2.0 but I'd still like to see something like that almost 180 degree hinge Bandai does on most Iron Man SHF, since in Dragon Ball figures the hair will get in the way all the time if you wanna move the head up.
the iron man necks are terrible though...
@@AnthonysCustoms I agree, they're terrible. But it was the only example of a 180 degree neck hinge I could think about.
Sorry, I don't have many figures to use as an example, so I thought about one that I have.
Something similar could also be done with joints in the back of the hair, as some characters with longer hair like Android 21 have. Anything that can help the head look up for flight poses without having to almost bend that awful-looking neck joint.
I can think of some model kits that have something similar.
Whenever I see SHF stuff made from Vietnam I mostly just avoid those releases for example they released a SHMA godzilla 2004 design and I hear the QC issues are a nightmare. I do have one figure from Vietnam and that’s the ssj4 goku and the main problem is the tail and right heel is loose

So a few of the bandai Gundam kits connect the legs to the hips from the front instead of the center. When you move the legs forward, you can keep going and get the legs WAY up as long as theres nothing in the way. Wish they would do something like that on other figures, if they're wanting to keep a butt sculpt

Future Gohan is easily my favorite form of Gohan, closely behind that I really want a Gohan in the Kaioshin garb.
Figuarts Future Gohan has been my holy grail, i have been patiently awaiting it for years haha figurise did it so I think eventually they will get to it, I hope he gets made when they fix the butt cheek situation on the 3.0 body mold, otherwise these new bodies are pretty darn good. We also need another cell saga ssj2 gohan with light battle damage, it could fit the super warrior awakening title very well. But I also agree with you that we need the purple gi adult gohan haha would work well for broly displays too.

@@pixoljef7830 well certainly not in real life but anime is definitely a place for those actions. But in any case having the backward range helps with balancing and subtle changes in posing at certain angles.
@@variablex clip of when any dbz character did a back kick. Cause idk of one. And posing is not rlly that different barring a back kick.

In the end its all personal preference, and I never really argued whether or not a dbz character did or did not do a flip kick it's just a ridiculous thing to argue over,espcially for anime in general. Does posing really have to be limited to what they did only in the anime? You can check out ACBA and people pose figures in all sorts of ways. In the end having more range can never be a bad thing.

Honestly I love this look for Gohan the best. The purple gi looks so right on him. Also, for the sake of a custom I wanna make, does the Super Saiyan 4 Goku head work on this body?

Anyways I like the future Gohan even though it’s a multiverse counterpart of him since it is the closest justified badass version of him Toei can offer after they made him with mediocre character development and way way downgraded storyline when in fact he should have been Goku’s successor in the first place after his death in DBZ.

Tbh I didn't care much about Gamma 1 and 2 before watching the movie, but after leaving the cinema I found them extremely likable. I'm not gonna preorder them tho (we know how Tamashii likes to trick promo images like with Imperfect Cell) but I'll be looking forward to your review when they come out! ^^ Unless you give them a 6 and say they are as bad as the 2.0 Piccolo I'll be getting them both for sure!

I really like the new torso. With minor tweaks for the arm sockets and kneck it'll be perfect. I really don't like those legs because of the solid plastic butt. I'll take function over a bit of form any day. All in all I think sh figurarts have got some great components here that just need fine tuning. That's my two cents.
gohan and piccolo have been my favorite characters since i was a kid, but as for my personal favorite? anytime gohan opts for the purple gi over the orange goku always wears. also, ever notice how gohan only matters when he's in purple?
also, i need this figure. i missed the pre-orders. so i gotta wait for another release

TBH i really love this ultimate Gohan even more because in the tournament of power he was supposed to use the Piccolo gi instead of the orange one anyways i'm glad that i got my hands in an adult Gohan, since i couldn't get any from the orange gi and neither the great saiyaman and right now they are so expensive, for me this figure is enough tbh.

I think the reason his neck is so thick is because they are going to obviously use this exact same mode for his real built body version of this which is Gohan beast. Whenever that figure is released.

Honestly? I really reeeeally like the new Super look for Gohan (this one.) I wish they packed in a Super Sayian head and maybe his spoiler head. I'm NOT getting Beta and Gamma so I'll probably grab some Demoniacal Fit heads or something for this figure.
I've had this on preorder on Amazon for forever and it says December.. So I'll get it someday, lol.
Also I wish we got some blast effects. I know these are base price figures but I'd pay 5 to 10 more for some blast effects to be packaged in.
I don't love the butt cheeks either, kinda weird on SS4 Goku for sure, but over all I like this body mold much better.
PS: Been watching thru Dbz again with my 8 year old daughter.. We are on the closing of Z but when Gohan was the Great Sayiman my daughter would cover her eyes and say "Gohan you're so embarrassing" (he's her favorite lol.)

I associate Gohan with purple because of the Cell Games, plus it helps separate him from his dad.

They did but it was premium bandia unfortunately and the same will be true with orange piccolo.
They cut too much off the chest. They could have kept the bulk and beeft up the sculpt for the same level of articulation in those shoulders
