    sir , why are we translating spherical waves to planner wave in lens as transmitter and again we are translating those planner waves to spherical waves in lens antenna as receiver . Instead why can't we send those spherical waves directly from transmitter to receiver ? please do reply sir . thank you

      If you send spherical waves then with respect to distance area covered by wave will increase that will make signal weak for longer distance communication.
