Although this tool-assisted run is far from a realistic depiction of how the game actually plays, it does give a pretty clear view of the incredible depth and complexity of this game. It's been years since I played it, but I still remember the feeling of extreme relief when I finally beat it.
Man, you're the best, I never saw something like that. How did you remember every detail of each level? Each teleport, every box. You knew exactly where to go. You can only have a photographic memory. Very very good. One of the best videos done quick game I've ever seen.

When you beat such a game, you can officially take the title of "Hardcore Gamer" :3 ! I spent more than 6 hours to beat it, searching for continues and lives, praying to be fast enough before the timer goes out... Man, that game is PURE awesomeness ! ( Final Marathon almost killed me... ) What was the best ? Paying 100 bucks for a Sonic that you finish in 1 hour ? Or for the same price, a similar game that you'll never finish if you don't train ? :3

this game wants to be like a Mario game in the worst way but it suffers from 1 major problem 103 levels and no saves granted you can fight the final boss after stage 2 but he's hard to beat regardless
It's tool-assisted play. Basically, the game is played in (super)slow-motion with save states and a recording is made of the button presses. Then after you're done you just let it play and make a video recording of it or whatever. It's not direct human skill, but it does take a lot of time, patience, perseverence, planning/research and discussion to make these.

he can't because it's tool assisted, means its literally played by advancing single frames in an emulator and rewinding if something doesn't go perfect. you can't do that on a real console.
back when games were a real challenge, I spent hours and hours of my childhood getting through this one, I finally won this game after who knows how much playtime when I got my hands on the emulator and I swear to god it was FUKING hard without savestates, it took me like 200+ replays of the game.. but in the end it was worth it.
If you just stand still for a single frame or so and save then there will not be any noticeable difference if you load it etc. You simply do not notice the one of the 25 or even 30 frames per second.
But bro, I am impressed on how u made it through so many levels like that LoLz. I made it through like mad levels with Cyclone (which is one of my favorite characters, btw), but I NEVER once knew that Skycutter could do just as good a job as Cyclone LoLz. *thinks for a minute* hmm......*sucks teeth* I think I may use him in the game sometime

I think this was done by the computer, i just got done beating the game and cant imagine this being possible. If it is somebody playing, there is something very wrong with them lol

Yea, which is why only some are ever able to beat it. Games back in the day weren't made to hold your hand and make sure ANYONE could get to the end.

Making a complete mockery of everything I tried to do as a kid. I got up to the levels around 9 minutes... in about 5 hours, then the game froze.
You could beat it faster if you use the warp to the last boss from the second level.
