"If this was a boomier guitar, that would've sounded real good." Hilarious. And, such a beautiful guitar. Thank you guys for sharing this with us all.

I have one of these within reach at any time, and every time I play it, the single most impressive character it has is that the response to the pick is the quickest I have ever experienced. The stiff top helps answer how this can happen. Bourgeois has combined fabulous tone and super quick response time. This almost acts like a jump beat; and that contributes to the banjo killer effect. The guitar gives you a bit of a sonic head start. What a great instrument!

Yes, Jeremy, one can hear every mistake. But such a nice bass! On this and on mine. Bourgeois is its own voice, no Gibson growl, and no Martin D-28 thump, both of which I love. Love this also.

I had a chance to play a banjokiller at Tall Toad in Petaluma CA. It was easily one of the top 2 guitars I played out of several dozen I demoed that day. Unique tone, unlike any other, which I'd describe as a snarly midrange (*not* whiney/nasally). A bit higher midrange emphasis than the low-mid warmth of a Guild, but not up into nasty harsh frequencies. One might think of it as the difference in balance between a tricone resonator and a standard resonator guitar. It's really a different animal.
Build quality was impeccable and played great up the neck, capoed at the 5th, etc. (unlike most of the others I played; Gibsons were shockingly lacking anywhere past open cowboy chord position).
The banjokiller wasn't the tone I was looking for at that moment but, if I had had unlimited funds, I would have bought it on the spot.

These are one of my favorite we build at the shop! Another upgrade on the BK is a special bridge plate that Adds some snappiness to the sound ;)

That is a beautiful guitar, completely out of my price range but having said that, I'm not a pro guitar player any more. The sound on my system was full and proud. Nice. Keep on smiling.

My Bourgeois SJ has that same kind of Mahogany! Aged Adirondack top.

John, what, if any, pickup would you put in this banjo killer

Another interest point is that they come with medium strings and they suit it well. Not many guitars do that?

I have a D35. I have to keep the case locked at night or it sneaks out all by itself and hunts down banjos.

The Collings slope shoulder CJ series is my second choice for slope shoulder but not as nice as these IMHO.

Please drop a hint to Bourgeois that this should be the next Touchstone model to develop. It would still cost more than any guitar I currently have, but I'd find the funds.

I would let this guitar “kill” my Huber and pre war conversion any day of the week! (Wish I was a better guitar player! 😎)

Sonically a banjo will always stand out because of their high pitch its not always about db wonderful guitars though ❤👌

I already have a banjo killer. Martin invented it about 100 years ago.
