Sadly in India, Chinese or anyone with Asian feature face the contrary and even Indians from North East. Veg food is quite comprehensive in China as they use a huge range of vegetables, tofu, seitan and fruits.

There is no judgment of which approach is better or worse; it is simply a matter of what suits the local cultural customs. Therefore, racial discrimination is virtually nonexistent in China, where there is more curiosity about foreigners.
Racism exists everywhere including China, but China is not as bad as other country like Korea (the worse in Asia), and of course in India too(2nd worse). Chinese people, most of them don’t know english ,so they seemed to be ignoring you, seldom have eye contact or try to talk to you, some foreigners(of darker skin or from poorer countries)often mistakenly think that they are mistreated, discriminate or something, but over all Chinese people quite good.

The impression of a stereotypical Silk Police:
a) always start a sentence by saying “I Say”
b) when replying to their superior officer, always start with the phrase “Yes Sir”.
Both “say” and “sir” sounds like the pronunciation of “three” or “third” in Shanghainese. Hence, the Shanghainese called these Sikh police Red Head Mr Third or Hong Tou A San in Mandarin and hhongdhou'akse in Shanghainese (notice the pronunciation of “three” at the end : “se”).
Overtime, the term “Mr Third” evolved to mean anyone from India as the British brought in more Indians to work in the civil service as India was a British colony then. And San Ge (三哥) or “Third Brother” was a variation of the term Mr Third. Another variation was India Mr Third or Yindu A San (印度阿三). With migration of Shanghainese to Hong Kong, these terms were brought to Hong Kong too, and used together with local slang for Indian like Mr Cai or A Cai (阿差). The local Hong Kong slang for a Sikh police or a Sikh bellboy working at hotels is Molo Cai (摩罗差).
Do note all these are derogatory terms, especially the Shanghainese Mr Third . In the old Shanghai Police Force in British Concession, the White or Brits were the first class officer as they took all the senior positions. The local Shanghainese were considered as second class as they mainly took the middle ranking positions. The imported Sikh and Indian police were considered third class as they mainly work on the streets and hardly get promoted to a higher position. And yet, these Sikh police behave like they were superior to ordinary Shanghainese. Hence, the ordinary people of Shanghai did not like these Sikh police as they were considered as oppressing the locals with power not of their own but of their Red Hair Devil paymaster. They were look upon as slave or running dog of the Red Hair Devil by ordinary Shanghai people. The Mr Third name was also used to mock these Sikh police as third class in the British administration. So, the Mr Third term is not a respectful term at all.
