India and China are two good examples of their two different political systems. The hard truth is that if China had chosen the same path as India did in the 1940s, the US would not have to worry about China today... China just showed how far and how quickly you can go with a nationwide, century-long considerate planning and teamwork.

      European Union???
That includes South Europe and East Europe and countries like Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania which are far poorer than China and India also.
      Italy and Spain has ghettos.
America is becoming worse than India day by day.
China is stupid if it compares itself with America.
And India is doing no wrong in comparing with China because China is better than India and India wants to become like China. Most Indians see China as an inspiration to learn from.
Those comparisons are for improvement. An average student will always compare with a bright student to become like him and improve himself not with the dumber ones. Simple logic!!!

India is comparing with China only because China is better so that India can sort out it's shortcomings and improve the way China did. Educated Indians compare India with China with the intent of looking at China as their inspiration and as a perfect nation and check the gap between the two countries and try to cover that gap in the same way China did with the western countries.
An average student always compares with the good students so that he can work like them and achive results like them and not with the dumb ones. Simple logic.
Because of your hardcore racism. You fail to recognise your 3000 year old friend and neighbour with whom you had coexisted peacefully and had trade, diplomatic relations in the ancient world with cultural ties like Buddhism and where scholars of your country like Tang Sazang, Fa Hien, Hieun Tsang travelled to 1500 years back and the name of which is mentioned in some of your ancient epics like Journey to the West.
Buddhism originated in India and was a major religion of many Chinese empires and interwined in your culture and heritage.
How can you simply ignore India?
You try to be friends with those Anglo Countries which plundered, took away your sovereignty and respect in the 19th century and during Boxer Rebellion and still today insults your food culture and your immigrants.
Stop caring about the Anglos they are not your friends. India, Nepal are your historical friends. Improve your cooperation with them.
What you said about rape and low iq men said is only true for North India, parts of South India and eastern India at most!

The Chinese have never regarded India as a rival. In fact, the Chinese always compare themselves with the strongest aspects of other countries and regions in the world. For example, they compare artificial intelligence, scientific research, education, and military affairs with the United States; compare electronics and semiconductor with Japan; compare LNG ships with South Korea; compare automobiles with Germany; compare aircraft and nuclear power with France; compare chip manufacturing with Taiwan; and compare city governance with Singapore.

I am quite old and have witnessed the entire development of China. China achieved what it has today because several generations genuinely recognized their shortcomings and learned from the West with a very humble attitude. Even today, if you point out areas where China hasn't done well, many Chinese people will agree with you and commend you, as many still lack confidence. However, Indians are too proud, and this is actually detrimental to India.

I am Chinese and have lived and worked in Germany and France for over ten years. Most parts of China are no longer inferior to Europe, and the service in China is better. The laziness and irresponsibility of Europeans can be quite shocking. What I find most remarkable is that China's development is relatively even. There isn't a significant difference between a city with a population of 20 million and one with a population of 2 million. This is very difficult for such a large country with a population of 1.4 billion. Unlike Europe, where many places feel like they belong to another world. As for India, I have never been there, so I can't comment on it.
As for ideologies like freedom and democracy, those are toys for politicians. As an ordinary citizen, you don't really feel any difference in daily life. In Europe, I don't feel particularly free; in fact, I often don't dare to go out at night. In China, I don't feel a lack of freedom either, and no one disturbs my life. When the government makes mistakes or when there is unfairness and corruption, it still becomes headline news.

India is one level below China to be honest.
Not 50 years but 40 years back they were same and in 1984 after Deng Reforms China climbed up steeply. What China faced in 80s is what India faces currently in 2024. India has just started to climb.
Watch Ken's video properly, at the beginning he clearly mentioned that while India is certainly behind China but the economy of India is growing fast and maybe India will become very decent in 25-30 years. Moreover Ken said he will visit India again and show the other parts and he truly liked the country.

China's development pace is getting faster and faster, India will never be able to catch up regardless of how much time into the future. At this rate, by the time India catches up of what is China today, they would be probably more than 100 years behind China at that time.

What I don't understand the most is that there are always many Indians in the comment section who feel good about themselves and come out to defend themselves, saying that they have done a good job. @hynoor7254 No offense intended. As a Chinese, I just want to correct a few untruths about China in your words. First: China in 1970 was in the midst of ten years of turmoil during the so-called "Cultural Revolution". It was a gloomy day, and it was not until 1976 that the country entered normalization. And on May 20, 1978, it began to implement the policy of opening up to the outside world. As of 1980, China's total GDP was US$191.1 billion, while India's total GDP at that time was US$186.3 billion. The difference between the two is only US$4.8 billion, but in terms of per capita GDP, India is ahead of China. Second: "If the Chinese government wants to develop a city, it can ask people to evacuate the entire area." Oh my god, are you crazy? Can't you check it online? From the period of reform and opening up until 2023, the renovation of old urban areas requires developers to publicly bid and provide considerable compensation to people in the relocated areas. This is why many people in China have become rich due to demolition. You can Google China’s demolition compensation policy, and it wasn’t until after 2023 that the government banned such large-scale demolitions.

My 2 cents. I think the biggest difference between the two countries is people's mindset. Through so many ups and downs, Chinese people, especially the Chinese leaders, are accustomed to facing big challeges and difficulties, and even eargerly looking forward to, revolutionary changes and disruptive reforms. Meanwhile in India, national independence was earned through non-voilent and noncooperation movements, changes are usually happening in a more gradual, slow and passive way, because India hasn't faced big crisis, violent revolutions and radical reforms in its recent history. People rarely want to get out of their comfort zone, because they don't have to. The mindset of the Indian people is more about opportunistic thinking than strategic thinking, and too much diversity, conflicting interests and chaotic democracy lead to low efficiency and shortsight (sometimes self-defeating) decisions.

EMMMM, some people in the comment area say that India is more "democratic".
Here I want to ask a few questions. Is only the "Western Election System" of democracy. All other forms of government forms are "dictatorship"?
Is the "Western Election System" process or result? Is it a tool for getting happiness and freedom, or is it as long as there are elections?
There is also a classic question, if you are sick. Go to the hospital to find a professional doctor for you. Still running to the square, let everyone choose someone who doesn't hate it for you?
So why should a country be given to an actor, or an internet celebrity, or even a businessman to manage it? Just because most people who vote do not hate them?
Western governments and media, including India, are criticizing that China is not "democracy." It is a centralized society.
But they never mentioned that China actually practiced "Western Democracy" in 1912. China established Congress in the first year of the Republic of China in 1912. The Western -style national elections and parliamentary systems are implemented, including national representatives and so on.
However, the result is that China has gained a 25 -year civil war. A large number of warlords are spawned. The well -known warlords are "Yanxishan" he controls Shanxi Province, and "zhangzuolin" he controls the three northeast provinces. "Luyongting" he controlled Guangdong and Guangxi Province. "Tangjirao" he controlled Yunnan Province. "Wangwenhua" he controlled Jiangxi, and so on. China's territory was split by more than ten warlords, and their administrative politics ignored the central government's decree. There is a foreign forces behind each warlord. Through these warlords, the foreign government has continuously seized the interests and rich mineral resources of the Chinese people, and served as dumping and opium dumping as foreign commodities. During this period, because of the uneven distribution of interests of those foreign governments, they would instruct the warlord agents they controlled to launch civil war against each other. As a result, the Chinese people who died reached 4 million people.
It is like Libya or Syria now. The domestic people held the weapons provided by the foreign government and shouted the slogan of "free democracy" to attack each other and slaughter their own citizens.
Therefore, don't say that China is not democratic enough.
We don't want that democracy like that. Those Western governments are just imposing to China's so -called "democratic freedom" just to pack exquisite packaging. We tried it and were almost poisoned.
What the Western government and the United States want are just a four -point cracking and war, like Ukraine. Unfortunately, Chinese people don't want to. We want to live well and live with dignity.

As a Chinese, I welcome you to continue visiting China in the future and explore more scenery. I recommend Dali, Yunnan to you.
For Indians, what I want to say is that honesty is a good quality. I don't care how Indians view China. In my opinion, what you need to do is objectively view the shortcomings of your country and think about how to progress, rather than listening to the sweet words of Western media and politicians, and not attacking that person when others point out problems. Doing so does not make India great.
I don't care about India as a country. Most Chinese people don't care about India. We rarely talk about India, let alone see it as a competitor.
If you are Indian, you may be very angry, but I tell you that the reason for all of this is because India has achieved very poor results in many aspects and is confident in how powerful it is. It is precisely this strange performance that makes most Chinese people feel that India is not worth our attention.
If India is really doing very well in all aspects today, and Indians are also very pragmatic and hardworking, all of this will be very different.
In the 1980s, China and India were on the same starting line, but decades have passed. Why does the United States only suppress us and not see you as a threat? Do Indians understand the reason? Because Americans believe that India is not worth being a rival, otherwise India will also face severe sanctions from the United States.

Very poor results in many aspects.
That's too much of an exaggeration or rather false stereotypes.
Yes India has to be honest average results in many aspects and atleast poor to maximum extent not very poor.
I never see India ranking the last or among the least in any aspects. Moreover India's performance has improved significantly in many global aspects.
I guess you Chinese people are too racist and ignorant to spot the postive of India that is there are numerous global indexes in which India has a good score. I can present those to you if you think I lie. Now, offcourse China is way ahead in everything no doubt but you people and your country did not have a painful history as India had with its deadly Islamic Invasion and Rule and British Rule which had plundered, ravaged Indian economy especially the Islamic rule. Why don't you ignorant people check out regarding the economy of ancient India?
If India was so downtrodden and wretched from the beginning, Alexander the Great, Romans , Persians, Mongols wouldn't have eyed on India's treasures. India would have been ignored like Africa was.
You Chinese didn't face the brunt of Islamic conquest and rule the reason you do not understand and care about your neighbours with whom your ancestors were once the strongest allies with trade, diplomatic and cultural ties ( Buddhism).
You Chinese seem to forget your past otherwise you would made friendship with India like your ancestors did.
Regarding India's global performance, since you said Chinese people looks at stage performance better check out which country has currently the fastest growing economy in the world?
Check out India's rank in the number of scientific research paper outputs globally it's 5th or 6th.
Check out India's rank in automobile manufacturing, smartphone manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, space research, mathematics, most notably software engineering and coding/ programming industry.
Many of the world programmers are of Indian origin.
Moreover India is one of the few countries with a self manufactured super computer.
Check out India's performance in the world of chess.
Check out the qs world University Rankings, India ranks fourth after China, Japan, Korea with the best universities in Asia.
I don't understand how you can still ignore India after that?
Moreover there were a few global opinion surveys recently covering many countries, it was shown that China had majority of its citizens having a negative view of India and positive view of Pakistan.
Now my question is if Chinese don't care about India they should have opted for neutral view, why did they go for negative?
Moreover even if those negative views are for India's backwardness why did those same individuals opt for positive in case of Pakistan which is far more worse than India?
Moreover I have seen Chinese media channels in CZcams they positively show India's economic growth and many of Chinese intellectuals do care for India in positive manner.

    • @DariusMazdehan-wl9du

America is getting worse than India and China is already better than America. Therefore it doesn't make sense comparing China with America. Perhaps take a look at the American cities and towns. Homelessness, drug addicts, gun violence. Even India with its slums is a better place because the poor atleast go to school unlike the homless of America.

He said clearly that India's economy is atleast growing rapidly and by 25-30 years India will become decent country and be nearly on the same footing as China currently is because India is slowly following China's development model. Moreover Ken has said he would next time visit more parts of India and show them. So wait!
Ken has admitted that while India is offcourse behind China but still he enjoyed in India and liked that country. Ken is a true and honest vlogger at heart I love his channel.

Comments like this show your blind hardcore racism because you are indicating that Indians are an insult because they are not human beings and Chinese are human beings.
Such racism needs to be stopped. This video is not meant for such comments.
Firstly China is not a super perfect country. It's GDP per capita is below 10000$ and India's GDP per capita is 3500$. The gap is not that wide. Moreover China's ranking in press freedom and happiness index is not decent. Sri Lanka surpasses China in Human Development Index.
So not an insult I guess.
Moreover that comparison is only because China is better than India. India compares with China to see it's shortcomings and improve them in the same way China did. India looks upon China as an inspiration and Development model for India's development.

Educated Indians compare India with China with the intent of looking at China as their inspiration and as a perfect nation and check the gap between the two countries and try to cover that gap in the same way China did with the western countries.

You really have to visit the Himalayan parts of India during your next visit. I absolutely love the places up in the mountains - the cultures in these mountainous regions are so different and diverse and the sights and sounds are amazing too. I would suggest Sikkim for your next trip, and Ladakh as well (be aware that Ladakh can be extremely cold in the winters). Parts of Sikkim cannot be visited by foreigners, so check that before you go. Apart from that, like others have suggested, visit the southern parts of India - Kerala and Karnataka have some very lovely coastlines. Tamil Nadu (in Southern India) is home to various hill stations (again some mountainous areas such as Ooty, Kodaikanal, Yercaud, Yelagiri). Kerala has Munnar and Wayanad (also very worth visiting). Karnataka has Coorg and also has other biodiversity spots such as Kudremukh National Park. These are much quieter areas with a lot of natural beauty. If you want culturally rich sites, try Odisha. Its capital city has hundreds of ancient Hindu temples and it is also home to one the UNESCO World Heritage sites of India - the Konark Temple. There's a LOT more in India in terms of historical, architectural wonders as well, so I would suggest places that aren't in the touristy areas of the Golden Triangle.

Agree with you re the Taj Mahal. Visited it at different times of the day, so about 4 times altogether after 2 trips to India. 5-stars have filtered water, same here used tap water to brush my teeth. I have tried street food but those that are fried/cooked in front of me.

Rather than taking feedback constructively eg. cleaning up the thrash, most Indians would rather criticise those feedbacks.

I think age may have more affect in travelling . When I was young the more crazy the more I like it ,but saftey is always top of the list . At night I am in my hotel . But now this Baby Boomer like the clean less hectic vibes .So Ken gives fair judgement on his travels . No self promotion or crony come on for click bate . Thanks Ken ,good job ! P. S. China is more one culture with language and many things in common, where as India is much more diverse , no better , just different .

Hey Ken! Great video! I just want to say that the comments from Chinese here are remarkably political, most likely because the Chinese people who go on non Chinese social media to actively search for these kinds of youtube videos (by using a vpn) are likely far more politically defensive than the normal Chinese. As a Chinese, please dont mind them. They do not represent the majority of Chinrse people's opinion about India (as most Chinese people dont actually use foreign socjal media, so this is not really a representative sample of actual Chinese people). In fact, from my experjence, Chinese by and far have respect for Indians for coming from a culture that is as ancient and robust as their own! And most believe indians are hard working and very much like themselves when the country was first taking off!
I think because Indian news is very against China and Chinese people, these more politically inclined Chinese are hence a lot more obsessed with frankly really petty things ://

North India, parts of South India and eastern India!
The rest that is far Northwest Indian himalayas, far south India, entire Northeast India are completely different and amazing!
The countryside of Northwest and Northeast Indian Himalayan region is beautiful while the Southern Indian rural side is simply a tropical paradise!
Don't believe me, youtube is there with a lot of vlogs!
A quick google search would also prove it!
I visited India 5 times and as a result I could cover the entire country solo upto each corner! I mean I have went to literally all the regions of India!
Its not a third world dump overall only certain regions are!
      I myself have meticulously noticed.
The worst, dirtiest, most unsafe for women third world parts are in North India and East India like Varanasi, Delhi, Calcutta and unfortunately Delhi is the capital and being dirty, rapey people tend to think Delhi is the representation of entire India which is false. You should see India throughout and not judge just by Varanasi, Delhi, Agra which has literally garbage dumps.Look I am Persian- Jew. From my maternal side I have descended from the Kochin, whereas my paternal ancestors were Oriental Jews from Iran. The Jewish community in India is one of the oldest overseas Jewish community which dates back to 3000 years when the first Jews from the Holy Land settled in Southern India as merchants.

Hello, Ken. I’m from Guizhou, China. If you visit China again, I recommend you go to Guizhou. It is one of the poorest provinces in China, but its natural scenery is very beautiful. The Dragon Palace and the Xijiang Miao Village are especially worth seeing.
