There are few actors whom are so great at playing the bad guy that makes you really hate the character and the person playing the character, and Michael is one of them. He really has the face and the talent for it! He was Brilliant as General Zod!

You're comparing to the Superman style of Reeve films but that doesn't translate into modern audiences, evident through Superman: Returns. We live in a post-2008 Superhero world. After 'Dark Knight' and 'Iron Man'. The Game changers. This film is the perfect introduction to a modern day Superman we can essentially grow with

nice sweeping statement but you haven't read my comment properly..wasn't comparing "styles' of Superman movies over the years ( and why ,exactly is 2008 a landmark year?).Only mention of Reeve was in the fact that Cavill's rather wooden and portrayal left me cold in comparison..Reeve's portrayal is still the benchmark even in 2013..as for Man of Steel, well you know my opinion, yours is yours, but save us the soundbite clichés "the game changers"etc..my comment was on the film, not the genre.
Shannon is the best reason to see Man of Steel..great , underappreciated actor who hopefully will get better exposure from this film..otherwise film is shit..reasons?: 1) too long 2) action scenes had many explosions but staged boringly 3) Amy Adams is a fine actress but her Lois Lanes just follows Superman around like a lost puppy 4)Snyder's view/presentation of Plant Krypton is just plain wrong 5)Cavill is a Superman with no warmth /personality unlike Christopher Reeve's faultess portrayal

We all did, he had so much more character than Kal-el, also he adapted to his abilities in day, it took decades to"superman".

I also feel like, in this movie, Zod wasn’t the egomaniac type, he was more a warped servant of an extinct people. An upgrade, in my opinion.

this was better than the dark knight in my opinion those batman movies were way too serious
