+World Driving Hi, I recently moved to England from the U.S. While I am a great parallel parker back home, I am horrible at it here. First, I'm used to driving on the other side of the road. More importantly, however, the road I live on is very narrow and cars are parked on both sides, which makes it incredibly difficult for me to reverse park in a tight space. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions? I watch with envy when my neighbors do it in one scope, where it literally can take me up to 15-20 tries. So embarrassing. :)
+Sevinc Yilmaz It honestly just comes with practice. Besides you're probably very used to driving on the right side making you adapt to it even more difficult lol
I watched this an hour to my test and awwww I got it in my test and I nailed it. It has been one of my difficult manoeuvre but with the help of this video it was easy this morning. I just passed my test this morning. Thank you for your videos it really helped me as I was using it and practising in my own car.
Passed my test almost 2 years ago and have barely driven. It's the only manoeuvre I'm not confident with. Doesn't help that I'm driving a different car to the one that I learned and passed my test in!

yeh, mate i get this all the time. Just fuck them and concentrate. People are stupid Be the patient driver and YOU MUST IGNORE THEM AND ACCEPT THE HUMILATION
Nice and clear. I wish I'd had this 40 years ago when I learnt to drive, but on the other hand parallel parking wasn't on the test in those days! Our compulsory elements were reverse around a corner, turn in the road using forward and reverse gears (ie 3 point turn--although you could have as many 'points' as needed), hill start (we had to do it on a railway bridge as we didn't have any hills) and emergency stop (which I didn't need to do as I had successfully demonstrated it by avoiding a suicidal cyclist early in the test). Parking was something you just figured out by yourself (or asked your dad who could always do it perfectly) after passing the test. I still find myself sometimes heading too sharply towards the kerb or stranded too far away but especially at night when I can't see the kerb in the mirror. It probably doesn't help that I am also squeezing into spaces little longer than my car! I don't think I've ever seen a gap two car lengths long that didn't have yellow lines in it!
so for everyone watching this i took my driving test monday and passed! yay. i watched so many videos to get it right because sometimes i turn too much being too far from the curb or turn not enough and would hit the curb. but this video pretty much explains how it really is done. just making sure when your turning point is parallel parking is what to focus on and golden. ugh. having my license feels great. sort of. now its time for bills haha.
I had my test today and this was the manoeuvre I was given to do, thanks to help from my driving instructor of course, but also the help of these videos, I managed to pass! I watched all your test tips videos several times before my test and I think they helped calm me for my test.
Have to admit this is my favorite maneuver, My instructor taught me this way and he calls it Lovely Red Roses easy way to remember the way to steer it. Don't think i've ever made a mistake while learning this one.

Could you do a video on how to parallel park in extremely tight spaces? For example one car length. It's very rare in a London that you find as bigger gap as what your taught on lessons. 😊 Thank you
Get the side of your car much close to the car you are parking behind, and rather than reversing when the B pillar is in line with the car do it when the bumpers are in line that will bring you in much tighter than in this video. If needs be go lock to lock with the steering or go forwards if you run out of space. just be careful not to the steer the front back to the kerb too early or you can scrape the car in front.
Fish I was getting so stressed about this but after watching this video I don't anymore and I feel confident and know I will be able to do this in a test. Thanks!

I learned how to properly reverse park after passing my theory. The technique I learned from my driving instructor was just confusing and i messed up every time. Your video has helped me a lot. Thanks!
This video helped me pass my driving test yesterday , on how to parallel park and fix it if something goes wrong luckily I found your video at the last minute , anyway my teacher in 🇨🇾 didn’t teach me on how to fix it if something goes wrong she would just adjust the mirror and try it again . I have been watching your videos for weeks now since I booked my test. My test is tomorrow and I have a 10hr course booked , 5 hours today 3hrs tomorrow and then the last 2 hours set aside for my test and stuff. I just wanted to say that you videos have been amazing and have helped loads

Hi! Happy to help. There are other methods to get good results with parallel parking but this seems to be one of the better ones. Judging rather than relying on methods is even better though and don't forget those all important observations!

My reverse parallel parking i did it super slow using clutch only i passed first time. A year later having hardly ever reverse park i did today i was miles out. But i remembered what my instructor taught me and i was fine.

My instructor told me to look for a reference point on the wheel arch but i seem to keep missing it so i'm going to try your way instead on my next lesson! can't wait to try it this is the only thing i'm worried about screwing up on my test!

This channel is useful for parking skills considering I passed my test 3 and a half years ago. I tend to struggle with parallel parking but I'm getting better. I nearly always reverse into a space if possible
I haven't practiced this yet with my instructor and I was terrified of having to do it, like unreasonably so. But after watching this, this looks a lot easier than I was thinking it would be. It still looks difficult, but not as much as i thought. Gives me hope 😂

I've had my licence for 19 yrs and find this video quite interesting... Its been a good 5 yrs since I did a RPP and that was in a friends small car... I drive a car that at is at least 1.5 times the size of your car shown. I drive a Ford Fairlane Giah. So lining up the front door pillar just wont work to get into the park. BUT what I did take away from this video was the 1, 2, 1 steering!! we just bought a mini cooper so i will be able to try out these techniques!! I remember when I went for my test and did my RPP I told the instructor I wont get this, I'll be perfectly straight just not totally in the park! And I was right PERFECTLY straight... just half a meter out of the park lol but 2nd go I was perfect. Thanks for the great videos even for someone who has been driving for many years in a different country - its great because in Australia we drive on the same side of the road as you guys!!

how many lessons did you do in them 6 months? 1 lesson a week?
I did on average 1 a week. Some weeks I did 2 lessons and very rarely (maybe the 3rd week before the test) I did 3 in that one.

My instructor told me to look for a reference point on the wheel arch but i seem to keep missing it so i'm going to try your way instead on my next lesson! can't wait to try it this is the only thing i'm worried about screwing up on my test!

You have a great tone to your voice when you explain this stuff, because you keep it calm. I had a mini nightmare last week attempting this move ! HaHa I couldn't believe how difficult I found it ! Gonna have Another try in tmrw's lesson after watching this, but my instructor's car is an AlfaRomeo. Slightly different. But I think this upload IS helpful. (I have just watched it about 6 times anyway, so hopefully I'll Nail it..)

This channel is useful for parking skills considering I passed my test 3 and a half years ago. I tend to struggle with parallel parking but I'm getting better. I nearly always reverse into a space if possible
I haven't practiced this yet with my instructor and I was terrified of having to do it, like unreasonably so. But after watching this, this looks a lot easier than I was thinking it would be. It still looks difficult, but not as much as i thought. Gives me hope 😂
Most new things start off difficult but get easier with practice :)

I've had my licence for 19 yrs and find this video quite interesting...
Its been a good 5 yrs since I did a RPP and that was in a friends small car...
I drive a car that at is at least 1.5 times the size of your car shown. I drive a Ford Fairlane Giah. So lining up the front door pillar just wont work to get into the park.
BUT what I did take away from this video was the 1, 2, 1 steering!!
we just bought a mini cooper so i will be able to try out these techniques!!
I remember when I went for my test and did my RPP I told the instructor I wont get this, I'll be perfectly straight just not totally in the park!
And I was right PERFECTLY straight... just half a meter out of the park lol but 2nd go I was perfect.
Thanks for the great videos even for someone who has been driving for many years in a different country - its great because in Australia we drive on the same side of the road as you guys!!

The first reference point, does the car you're parralel with have to have passed the from pillar of your car for you to start turning?
Depends on the size of your car but roughly at that point should be ok 🙂
