That’s why the blood also came out from where her horn was supposed to be
Actually, Otto was killed by the cult, that's why his ground dragon went back to Subaru. You can see in the scene a bloody blade stuck in the drivers seat.

In the novel Otto actually used the forests mana to hit garf with one of the highest level offensive earth spells in RZ. He still lost. But it’s sad that they didn’t include that

Ram overused her mana, that's why she started to bleed from her missing horn I think Otto's Divine Protection was briefly mentioned in S1, he used it to find a shortcut through the forest and catch up to Emilia's carriage before the crystals exploded.
I didn’t know I needed Otto’s backstory, but I most certainly appreciate the show for giving it. I really come to like Otto’s character, I really like how he has come to have Subaru’s back. Subaru needs all the help and support he can get 😅😅.
"I also really like Garfiel, too. Even though he's killed Subaru once already..." At this point, who _hasn't_ killed Subaru? 😂 Most of the people he cares about have either killed him, wanted him dead, or been at least partly responsible for one of his deaths.
Surprisingly, Garfiel hasn't actually killed Subaru yet, has he? He abducted him and killed Otto, multiple villagers and Patrasche but Subaru was teleported away.
The fact tha otto could actually understand the whale made him a lot more susceptible to the mental attacks... remember the people going crazy during subaru's fight against it? they were clawing their faces out with their own nails... That is what made otto go mad and throw subaru out of the cart... still even though Otto did that, you could see how his madness had still not gone as far as making him insane and try to kill himself like a lot of soldiers did... it speaks to otto's resilience too...
One of my favorite episodes the ottos stuff is hype especially in the novel were he uses magic but Emilia and Subarus talk is so good it shows so much of subaru has grown but also how much more he still has to and also from emilias side its also great
Maybe it would have taken too much buildup, or maybe it was because of covid at the time, but Otto straight up nuked garfiel in that forest in the web novel lol and he still walked it off.
Subaru and Emilia’s relationship is like that of dramatic high school couple😅😅 very up and down and around. Hopefully that sweet kiss is erased by some BS.

I really the the convo between Subaru and Emilia, it's stupid, it's raw, it's nonsensical, they barely say things that correlate to each other and just saying the first thing that comes up, watching/reading it feels weird, they say stuff u kinda think don't fit for the moment and it's a mess, but it works
It’s a really well written genuine argument. Most writers sugar coat it, or keep it more in line and coherent for the viewer. But this argument was written to show what it’s actually like, and to show how persistent one should be in their stand when it comes to giving out some tough love. And in the end, this was extremely good for Emilia to hear; and for Subaru to admit (that she isn’t perfect, that is)
