    Mad respect for putting 6 at number 1. Honestly his big finish stories have become some of my favourite doctor who stories of all time.
    Stories like the holy terror, the reaping, jubilee, the one doctor, doctor who and the pirates, davros, the marian conspiracy, arrangements for war, etc. He's just so fun at big finish, and his relationships with pretty much all his companions are great, but i love his dynamic with Evelyn the most.

    Personally would have 4 and 8 higher, otherwise an interesting list.

      Very interesting isn't it? I love seeing an actual fan list rather than something like WhatCulture or WatchMojo as you know they only have the cliff notes on the series and it's not really people who have *watched* classic Who but maybe have seen clips or heard stuff, who writes those articles.
      Colin would never be the bottom of so many lists if people had heard Big Finish, seen Vengeance on Varos and Trial of a Timelord. No offence but Baker is an experienced and great actor.
      So when I see a list with him at the bottom and Tom and David at the top, I think 'aye, judged Colin by his costume and Twin Dilemma, have you?'

    7th for me, he started off as a clown and then became darker and more complex as the series went on.

    Oh my. The 4th Doctor placement is brave. Respect for you! Im not sure I agree with him leaving one season early is the thing though - his last season was Marvellous!
    But he should have gone during the Key to Time.
    Colin deserves his ranking on your list. Only Doctor I've met but warmest guy

      It varies for me when it comes to s18, sometimes Tom's more melancholy and cold performance elevates a story, others it detracts.

      And I'd say that at least two of the New Who Doctors are superior to Jon but that's just my personal opinion too.

      I love Colin Baker’s interpretation of the part and how he has (in my mind) finally achieved it on audio, saying that I love season 22, I don’t understand why he always ends up in the bottom of every poll but I’m happy to be ignorant

  • @1000guy1

    I find Peter Davison to be underrated I don’t find his doctor bland at all, I love how his doctor had serious attitude problem at times and I think his acting protrayal in his darker stories is prefect especially in earthshock, enlightenment and season 21 which his acting protrayal in season 21 was where it was at peak especially in stories like Frontios, resurrection of the daleks and the caves of androzani, but to come to think about it he was a dark doctor, considering he killed two cybermen and omega, i am glad he left the show while at peak with his acting protrayal as the doctor, he would of been fine doing season 22, not sure about season 23 though but yet jon pertwee’s acting remained very consistent during his 5 year run on the show, Tom baker’s acting protrayal as the doctor was also still good during his 5th season, his acting protrayal as the doctor started to go down hill around season 17, McCoy would of been at peak with his acting protrayal as the doctor, if jnt did do season 27 same goes to C baker if he was aloud to do the show for 3 more seasons

      @JeremiahEcks777 Před 9 měsíci

      @@mrdoctorgilmoreI mean, the 7th Doctor actually calls the 5th Doctor "the bland one" when they meet in Cold Fusion. 😂
      I'd agree with you that 5th is not bland and a bit more nuanced than he seems, but I think him having a beige costume doesn't help. I think his outfit, whilst in keeping with the image JNT was going for, isn't the best. Better than Colin's maybe, but a step down from the first four.
      Except when he wears the hat and it looks complete.
      Davidson is one of the UKs most accomplished actors. Guy has done it all. So if his Doctor seems bland to some, there has to be some reason. I don't think it's Davidson's fault - I just think his Doctor struggles to be seen when standing next to Tegan's outfits. 😂

    To compare, worst to best:
    13th > Shalka > Curator > Ruth > Cushing > 9th > Valeyard > 8th > 5th > War > 3rd > 6th > 1st > 12th > 2nd / 10th equal > 11th > 7th

    • @JeremiahEcks777
      @JeremiahEcks777 Před 9 měsíci

      @@jcasali3391 The Curator is canon as he shows up in Day of the Doctor.
      Ruth is very canon, for better or worse, as of The Fugitive, The Timeless Child and The Power of the Doctor.
      And whether we like it or not, according to Trial of the Time Lord, the Valeyard is apparently a version of the Doctor.
      Shalka and Cushing aren't canon, no. But then there's a fan theory that Shalka is created when the Great Intelligence possesses the Doctor and temporarily that timeline comes into being. Just a theory.
      Nonetheless Shalka and Cushing are significant enough to be on my own personal list. But hey, if you don't want them, cool, I can post the same precise list without them if you'd like?

    Wow, Colin Baker has always been my worst doctor. Amazed you put him first. The stories were awful (not completely his fault) and he just didn't have a presence for me. Tom B is the best for me, just watched Pyramids of Mars again and he just owns the role. Each to their own...
