  • Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by former adviser to President Zelenksy, Igor Novikov, to discuss Donald Trump’s declaration that he could quickly end the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Two advisers to the presidential candidate presented him with a plan that would involve threatening to cut US assistance if Kyiv did not enter negotiations with Moscow.
A senior Ukrainian official said Ukraine is not ready to compromise with Russia and give up any territory to end the war.
Igor says: “If we give Putin territory, it will lead to World War Three.”

It is also worth remembering that before this war started, Zelenski was voted in on a platform of negotiating with Russia to find a way to end the conflict at the time. Russia took the Crimea in 2014 and for Ukrainians there has been a conflict with Russia since then.

Putin gave three excuses for invading Ukraine. 1. NATO expansion ( an impossibility, given nations apply to join it ); 2. Denazification; and 3. " I want it back "
Ukraine became independent sovereign nation in 1991. The Soviet Union had crumbled. Putin doesn't get to tell other nations what they can and cannot do.
He sure used NATO as an excuse but it's not valid, nothing is. You simply do not go and invade a democratic, sovereign nation simply because you want to. He's abducting children, thousands of them. This is total filth.
Yeltsin bitterly regretted endorsing this bloke, right after he'd done it he knew he'd made a horrible mistake.

The Western world should learn from our history books, if you sit idly by and watch you will achieve nothing, he who hesitates is lost, if you draw a red line, you need to defend it when it is crossed, moving it will only show weakness.
When Hitler and the Nazi's went into Czechoslovakia, Chamberlain did nothing, waving his piece of paper with the infamous words "peace in our time", Hiltler saw he was weak and he soon broke his agreement and invaded Poland. Winston Churchill, on the other hand, had been warning parliament about the rise of Adolf for some time, he was prepared to stand strong and show no weakness. Adolf new, once Winston took power he would have a serious fight on his hands, he attempted to do a deal with the British, but Winston was having none of it. I think he actually tried with Chamberlain as well but was refuted. Sometimes, despite what people say, you have to stand up and fight for what you believe in. Our forefathers did it for us, and now it is our turn to do it for our children and grandchildren. Putin and people like him, need to be shown that there is no place in this world for their evil regimes.
