Reform UK: Richard Tice Denies CIVIL WAR After Nigel Farage SACKS Ben Habib

  • Richard Tice, newly appointed deputy leader of Reform UK, has denied there is a civil war at the heart of the party following a reshuffle of senior figures which saw Ben Habib ditched by Nigel Farage.
Mr Tice said the measures were all part of a natural growth plan for Reform, with their aim to professionalise and rapidly expand the party after winning five seats in the recent general election.
The appointment of Reform donor Zia Yusaf as new party chairman, a role until recently held by Tice, was said to be in an effort to exploit his experience of running a business and raising money for campaigning.
Former Reform UK deputy leader Ben Habib has expressed his “long held concern” on the leadership of the party, which had caused him to consider his position.
Mr Habib has been a major player in Reform, serving as a Member for the European Parliament for the then-Brexit Party.

I'm glad Reform are organising along professional lines so they avoid all the problems they had with candidates at the last election. If Reform are to grow, it must be more than the individual, even Farage said he would only be leader till someone younger who could lead Reform going forward appeared. It must be streamlined and organised, it must appoint regional officers to bring the party to a local electorate and work for the council elections, it can then build from the bottom up so when the next general election comes along they are imbedded at grass roots. Its time to pull together, not let petty personal animosity get in the way.

Exactly, that's a huge role for an exceptionally competent businessman. Zia is that man, young, energetic, and frankly rich. He has already financed the party with almost a million quid. He can build the structure, and rapidly.

I fully agree! It's Ben who put out that petulant statement. We do not see or hear everything that goes on!

The fact that Ben Habib doesn't appear to have been told about his demotion before it was published by Reform UK doesn't surprise me. Having been fired as a candidate on a two minute conversation without being given a reason I've felt it first-hand. I've still had nothing in writing, even after a subject access request and complaint to the ICO. The internal management and communication is non-existent.

This is simply a matter of fact change. There will be plenty for Ben to do.

I’m happy about the change. It makes sense for a parliamentary party to have a deputy leader in parliament. It’s a pity that Ben isn’t as graceful in being demoted as Richard was in giving up the leadership. Spatting in public doesn’t make him look good.
