    Copper conduits electricity over 4x better than nickel. Copper is better for high current batteries, but its harder to spot weld, so its not used so much on batteries.

    There is nickel plated copper strip on sale. Have you tried this option?

    Madness, I got a bit of a weak spot welder, was thinking of doing 0.25mm pure nickel spot welds for my battery pack as that's the max I can do, I will be using 40T cells, since you are quite experienced, would this be fine? I only plan on running 27.5A peak and 18.75A continuous per p.

      I think that 0.25mm would be fine. How wide the strip is?

      From doing lots of reading around, use a top layer of 0.1mm nickel plated steel (the steel bit is important) with a layer 0.1mm copper sandwiched below. A slot in-between the spot welding probes helps put more power into the weld. To make sure you don't damage the battery, only do a single weld on each battery. Don't do multiple welds at the same time because it heats the battery too much.

    So bro, what strip should I use for 32650 build in 12v 120ah? Nickel or Copper?

      If you take alot of current put of your battery copper is better, but its harder to weld than nickel.

    Was the nickel strip pure nikl or nikl plated steel strip?

      @@pajajaska bruh i just received the spot welder and it had nickel strips so which if i remember correctly the copper strips is for the series and the nickel so for the parallel

      @pajajaska  Před 3 měsíci

      @@chrismagallanes8858 yes, for parallel connections you don't have to use copper. Series connections carry the current. What kinda battery you are building?
