The dark and unknown thruth is that many of rd burman sir's songs were lifted from regional and western songs...
Actually it's not, only 10% of his songs were inspired by western music, and he was forced because the producers wanted him to do so, but even he made them sound vastly different from the original. Also those regional songs you are talking about are actually some of his own songs in other languages he reuses for hindi films, like his Bengali songs. The amount of original work he has done is vastly more than stuff that was inspired, and also even if he has stuff that's inspired so what, everyone is inspired by everyone and everything, and it's only true genius that's able to pull out the best of everything and that is what Pancham did best.
