So sorry to hear a brand wasn't willing to stand up for your rights. If I knew the brand personally I would boycott them for the attitude they showed you in asking you to "hide" you you are. I'm personally not gay but have many friends who are and will always support them. Hope you two get back together in time for the Christmas holidays, safe journeys.
