People go mass air so often even the AI goes mass air when playing PVE. It's honestly making me not want to play anymore. Yes, I can beat it, no i dont find making my pop mostly reavers and a scarab fun.
why would they need to buff wolverines? UNSC air units are way better than banished units, build AIR to counter the banished air, will win 95% of the time... thats why wolverines arent as good as reavers because bashee sux wang compared hornet and vulture... ffs quit complaining UNSC has better air... use it to ur advantage not whine ur ground to air units are slightly weaker. my lord
That Cataclysm was cheddarful 9:00 In relation to the topic though, it helps to target your opponents' supply pads if they're spamming air. Both hornets and Banshees exclusively take copious amounts of supply to sustain en mass, so trimming down those pads really help to slow down the production.
Im an onyx player and im here to tell you that other onyx players who have their build down to a science with deci air will absolutely wreck your armies. Theyll have level 3 air with boundless siphon before you can get your infantry and vehicle upgrades. Not to mention the power to make anti air and research combat tech. It is busted. Good players with leveled up air will leave you in a stalemate at best if you dont rush them. It is absolutely still broken. High level players dont keep their banshees still.
I wanna add that I also recommend Kodak’s as an offensive option to attacking enemy bases also with support drone jackrabbit for sight range then you have good damage to the base and the enemy using air will have to come to your kodiaks but I highly recommend protecting them with your anti air. Plus works with banished
Using sarinas freezing and frozen shatter leader powers against mass air works super well. Since they all get frozen, and then are all shattered. At least most of them. And you should be able to pick off the stragglers
Hey saw you use voridus vortex and then you use cataclysm. Use cataclysm and then right after use vortex. The damage of the vortex is increased so it’s double damage. I’ve seen people wipe full air armies like that it’s super effective. You can use maelstrom too but you won’t have to because of the amount of damage you do.

Tech 2 does not take 10 to 15 min to get to. It can be done by 3-4min with tons of supply saved up for the air units. Scout the enemy to see what they have unit and building wise. Try to pressure the enemy base and try to setup AA defenses. 9/10 matches I lose is because of air spam going to back of my base as I push the enemy base. 343 should put power requirements onto banshees and hornets. Or take the power requirements away from wolves and reavers. But now that 343 is no longer patching this game we are stuck with mindless players spamming air to back of bases for their ranked "strategies"

One tip if you're using anti air vehicles is to mix some bulky vehicles in with them like scorpions or marauders. Anti air vehicles are glass cannons and the bulky tanks will absorb a lot of damage for them unless the air spammer micromanages his units to target each specific anti air vehicle.

Dude sometime I don't think your playing the same game. Or you really don't know how to play the UNSC. Inside of 13 minutes playing ForgeI can have a full 119 pop Army of mass air fully upgraded to level 3. When it shows up to your base your base is dead. There's nothing you can do to stop it. 7 Vultures using there ability will take out any base shields or max fortification. 12 hornets are there to add mass confusion and to spot for the vultures that's it. Wait for my ability to recharge and do it again. Air is absolutely OP. The only way to stop it is prevent it from being built in the first place. I've had 3 Armys try to stop Forge. I always take out the base and most of the troops in the process
4 anti air turrets and all base upgrades will do close to nothing to defend deci banshee spam. Best to upgrade heals for ur base also. Kinsanos redline 2 wolverines are okay vs air but the eco cant keep up. Air is broken. Should be a cap on how many you can make. Then if u bitch about air, ur just bad

That said if you use cutter and try to do strong infantry build the enemy leader powers wipe your army in seconds then your defenseless and the game is over. Tired of being wiped when I'm about to destroy a base or beat and army only to have mine wiped by a cleansing beam or Mac etc. Halo wars one was way better no reliance on leader powers.
I'm enjoying halo wars 2 but I totally agree with you here, I've had my army wiped and also wiped enemy armies with leader powers and its just not that fun in all honesty

If you can make ur ememy blow his load in leader powers that dont do a ton of damage then u have a big advantage. You cant go infantry all game either. You just cant.

When I try that my teammates rarely help push and all of the enemies defend who I'm attacking then my army gets destroyed. After that I'm a sitting duck for a while and usually costs me the game

Cant rush alone. If ur enemies are sitting back, light rush and retreat. Destroy a gen/harvester and their units and regroup. Getting too aggro will just cause you to get double teamed while ur teammates sit back and do nothing. Its chess not checkers. Until someone spams air anyway
or do and build air as UNSC because its far better than banished... so reavers are better than wolverines all the UNSC air is better than banished... ur hung up on one unit being worse, marines are even better than grunts against air... so banished bases get shield generators... attack them anyway the shield isnt unlimited health it goes down quick with a decent attack. such a whiner. ur name in youtube is probably the only accurate thing uv ever said

I find that a good banshee counter is to make hornets with the upgrade since upgraded hornets are better than the upgraded banshees.

It’s not even the shield its just the fact that reavers do way more damage and are less susceptible to LPs

I also make sure I have ~4 Wolverines in my army at all times. As soon as I get the slightest hint that my enemy had air I go straight up to 10.

Usually you want to use maelstrom because a good player will move their air away but maelstrom traps them

Air still can be op depending who has prioritized what. 3v3 can be the worst offender sometimes

Hold down the X button and your units will target anyone in the vicinity instead of all of them attacking under your mark.

Frostravens and the bison are great at freezing air and they both shatter the air units automatically which does heavy damage

There is one counter to mass Vulture, but then all the other air spam is just easy to counter smh
