Courtesyflush52 lol ive been able to understand pretty much all the accents i hear since i was a little kid and i live in the middle of texas. I guess its what youre exposed to as a kid like watching tv and such that gets you accustomed to understand different accents. somehow its hardest for me to understand people when they talk with a twang so go figure lol

Accents here change from area to area, towns which are just a few miles apart can have very different accents. It must be a nightmare for any visitors to Britain.
Honestly I don't get why everyone is having trouble? I mean yeh, I appreciate the subs (my friends sure do) But you will never figure it out unless you listen!
Cactus America, for some accents it is handy to have subtitles. Otherwise you could be wrong about what is said. I am quite good with the english language but for some words i have trouble finding the right words to choose. In the netherlands i love watching BBC, Discovery Channel and National Geographic channel but sometimes it is hard to understand what is said.

The single BIGGEST reason I'll never be Airsofting in Scotland!
Its a very common word here in Scotland. You must realise that all places have different accents and words that may be unique to a regional dialect. Even you have an accent. I see many CZcamsrs in the USA who say "Y'all" or "Y'alls" repeatedly. This is a word that you will never hear used in other English speaking countries. So if you ever visit another country, best to never say anything about the accent. The people you say it to will probably be intelligent enough to say nothing about your comment, but they will think you are a dick. Which is another regional word used a lot in Scotland, usually prefixed by the word "Fucking"
