In this video i’m turning my 20 year old microKORG into a Stormtrooper.
It's a 7 minute time-lapse + Audio commentary
So probably boring for a majority 🥱💤 and maybe helpful to a few.

Nice. I like the angled setup better than the flat setup.
You need to put the Korg logo back on but with a stormtrooper star wars font!

Hello you’ve done a fantastic job. You can get some special stuff and put the old key bed under a certain type of light which will bring back the fresh white colour and you could always keep that key bed as a spare if there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m a great believer in recycling. Again well done for your transformation of a stunning old synthesiser. I’ve got a couple of synths and they are fantastic including a mini Nova Novation.

Thank you very much! Oh yes I see. I guess I would of left it how it was too, if it was in mint condition. I mean it’s pretty OTT but it would of been ideal, if I had to one to mod and one left in it’s original state. Try looking on eBay or Reverb for cheap ones maybe that might have minor scratches?

Not sure but I think a microkorg could even be small enough to be placed ontop of a Nord key depending on the model of course, but I recall there being some negative space for it to sit there neatly? 🤔 Anyways can’t wait to to see how it turns out. @@liamback.mp4 unfortunately none negative space however I'm always looking for alternate stand displays. Just separated the plastic from the mobo so painting should commence prior to the weekend! Thanks again for the intel

I know what you mean 😢 I was pretty much on the fence too with painting over that part. because I also wanted to keep it how it looked originally, but it looked too odd and unfinished, when placed in the middle of the room. However I managed to print out the I/O's with a label maker and found a black/transparent Korg logo sticker. It doesn’t look like the original but it helps knowing who,what,where,when.
So you turn your MicroKorg into a MicroKorg S, but without the S upgrades.

Did you manage to put the name KORG back down n the the back panel?
I did managed to stick labels of the I/O at the back with a label printer. But I passed with the Korg branding. Maybe one day I will come across a Logo vinyl sticker and will definitely use that for the back👌🏻
Those German blocks have communal air conditioning so you probably killed a few of your old neighbours.
Fortunately, I don’t live in a block with air conditioning. The bathroom has a skylight though right above the bath, leading to the backyard streets. My neighbours on the other hand are apparently still alive, as their stench of delicious & intense garlicky meals, still find a way to our front door.
