Ian a builder myself ,developed a lot of projects, well now we want to put the blame on the prson who approved the plan but are we also going to look at nhbrc site inspections, how did they allow the first floor to continue being build with a suspicious basement 😢
Agree 💯
Please STOP the blame game! Honesty will prevail. Lets remember the families of the deceased and not make this a sensational issue.
Families wanting to go on site? They need to think realistically. What if they get hurt, would they be able to comprehend what they would see when more bodies are found... they are not qualified. Hard as it may be, let the professionals work in peace
Yes and no, the people when the last body has been found, they wanting to walk in the rubble. They can simply stand in front of the building and lay there flowers its an international thing, same thing here. So while everybody's making a big deal of everthing, it's about the men's family, it's a human thing. Nothing more nothing less
The person (municipality worker)who approved that building plan must be brought to justice
That is only ONE aspect - the engineers, contractors and bulders who were involved are more accountable.
It's not a municipality problem.
It's an engineering and contractor issue.
Specifications are the responsibility of the engineering teams.
Material quality is the contractor and suppliers.
Municipality looks at building size and zoning and checks there is a certified engineering team on the job.
@@mvubu6823 yes they are all at fault
@@amandabooi4359 not all
There will specific causes. Many people involved will be blameless
Some will carry the majority of the burden .
So sad
SA is a disaster without this disaster!!!. Try waiting for a toxicology report for your child who died 8 years ago and you will find out that it takes 12 years!!!! I am taking about my own son, who was a taxpaying citizen born here. Surely this is also a disgrace!!!!!
What do you expect with the way this country has deteriorated in everyday life
What do you want SA to do
So sorry for your loss, that is disgraceful yes 😞
How can you conduct a fingerprint identification if some of the fingerprints are not on South African systems. That is the challenge with allowing illegal foreigners in our country. This is causing massive issues and Gayton raised valid points that must be addressed by government.
Exactly. These people paid with their lives for bot following the immigration law... their families also need to understand that if they were working here illegally
Let's hope they can test the basement and first floor parking's concrete pillars, was the concrete poured by concrete company mixed at their factory to required strength as per the engineer and not mixed by the cleaning labourers. No way it will be a consistent strength!. What type of cement was used? It's clear the Concrete pillars collapse and the the the building comes down in 2 seconds, like your legs (pillars) getting kicked out from under you.
is it just me or does it seem majority of injured is foreign nationals 🤔
You’re right
Yes the contractors employed a lot of cheap labour non certified non Qualified workers
All those beautiful mansions in Kingswood and Earls court are build but the labour of these men…. property is big business in George, except for the people who lay the bricks. Ice projects have now disappeared , all there boards have been taken off.
Where is NHBRC in the whole scenario?
This is not a home building association matter. This is a Construction company matter.
@@paulaharley6951 In relation to the structural integrity of the building on the assumption that the development was enrolled and that in every milestone in the construction there was a joint inspection with all relevant stakeholders.
Real poor show, condolences to all who lost thier lives.one crane in 3 days.recovery units.far to slow.what happens if S.A.has a major disaster. You on your own jack.
As SA we not ready fr unity if was other countries people shld h e United in assisting professionals
Jehova please be with all the families and friends that are going through this difficult time and please be with all the rescue workers and all first responders who are at the ❤ of this extremely difficult work ahead. My ❤ and prayers to all affected.

So many building-savvy people in the comments. Lets be quiet and pray for the affected families. Worry about the blame afterwards
Where is the developer?
Tragic
🙏🏿
I see how the media painting this as horrific accident instead of negligence 👎🏿💯
Because it's a DA run municipality. If it had happened elsewhere in the country, the story would be different
@@Tt-iu4vk 🤡
Because we don't know the cause.
The chance of substandard concrete being used is a national government SABS and concrete institute issue.
We need to wait and see
If it was anc,it would not have been built in the first place...
Money goes in the bottomless pockets of the ministers.......
@@mvubu6823 Thanks for staying realistic. Pull the weed by its root, not leaves.
Do the journalists actually care?
The stinking rich building developers who sit on their behinds and watch the work done need to be held accountable. The municipality needs to stop giving permits out for these ridiculously expensive homes that the locals can’t afford
Is this not a building that would house multiple households. Like a flat complex.
And how would the municipality know what it would cost people to live there, they only aware of the cost to build it. Wether it be expensive or cheap, more homes are needed
Do you know who the stinking rich developers are; please tell us would like to know
Where is the developer? How come no one is saying about the developer?
The thing is South Africa is very very rich in corruption
