      @@DoctorAnne It is a plant extract used in traditional medicine. Because it is a plant, it of course has antioxidants, terpenoids. There is some research on its use in skincare but not much. I do think that it has anti-inflammatory properties, but I cannot say if the supposed anti-wrinkle and anti-pigmentation claims are accurate. Along with ceramides, peptides, and niacinamide it is an ingredient that makes me more likely to buy a product. Well, my favourite ingredient over the past 2 days would be zinc pyrithione because it murdered some bumps I had on the hair follicles above my mouth

      Absolutely okay to use with a Vitamin C serum.

    • @luzvi1983
      @luzvi1983 Před 4 lety

      The ordinary brand advises not to use vitamin C together with niacinamide. Here you can read what they say on their website. Contraindications: If topical Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid and/or Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid) is used as part of skincare, it should be applied at alternate times with this formula (ideally Vitamin C in the PM and this formula in the AM). Otherwise, Niacinamide can affect integrity of the Vitamin C.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Před 4 lety +8

      @@luzvi1983 I know they do, but I disagree. Vitamin C is stored in our skin for up to 24 hours, so no matter when you apply your Niacinamide, it will come in contact with Vitamin C. So as long as you don’t mix it in the palm of your hands, I think you are fine.
      But you of course don’t have to if you don’t feel comfortable doing it.

    • @DoctorAnne
