Klopp is a legend for the football his sides play, for his character, for the fact he won every single trophy there is to win. A PL title and a UCL title and has had three 90+ points seasons against the best side the league has ever had in Man City (who also happened to break the bank & rules in order to get there) Klopp is a legend, cos he will be remembered forever by everyone

Safe to say BOTH legends. But I think Klop has the edge on Pep. He develops players more (eg Robertson) and has the charisma to make players WANT to play for him. Pep buys players who are purring along already and keeps them going.

Klopp got 3 years before he succeeded because Liverpool were finishing 7th and 8th for multiple years. There was demonstrable progress. He got them to the Europa League final the first season, then back into the Champions League in his first full season, and then to the Champions League final in his 2nd full season. Then they won it the following year. Won the prem the season after that. There was no realistic expectation he would win anything in those first three seasons.

Take Liverpool past managers for example. Everybody in Liverpool would put Shankly over Paisley. Paisley won all those European trophies etc. But the reason is Shankly got Liverpool back and created that winning mentality that was carried on by the next managers. Similarly Klopp from a hopeless position Liverpool were in when he arrived has created a culture similar to what Shankly did. He imo is up there with the greatest ever

Thats not very smart… Chelsea built their success the same way, no one says wenger would’ve won more leagues if not for mourinho… FFP isn’t fair in the sense that united is allowed to spend billions on the back of SAF success yet smaller teams aren’t allowed to get better, point being all managers in history had certain challenges… klopp is in no worse position than wenger facing SAF and Mourinho

90+ points can’t be translated to mean much because you play the competition, for example last season as soon as city guaranteed the league last season they stopped fighting for the league and got less points overall cause the aggression stopped,
So my point on the 90+ points can’t be translated because if the standard was 95 points to win a league that’s what SAF would’ve tried to do, but the standard was 85 points so that’s what he did… for example in the 2004/5 season Wenger finished on 83 points… in 09/10 united won the league by 80 points, you can’t then say Arsenal would’ve won that league 😅

The reason I think Jürgen Klopp gets legendary status is for what he has done for Liverpool FC. He has resurrected the club back to iconic status. The fans love him and he is a strong profile in English football. Anyone that did for a club what Klopp has done for Liverpool deserves legendary status.... He has won all domestic trophies and the CL and is a front runner in this year´s EL race. And the club World Cup... If he wins the EL, he'll have won every competition there is to win with Liverpool. If that doesn't give you legendary status, I don´t know what does...

Klopp is Premier League legend without question. He won everything, absolutely everything. If we take away European competitions and focus only on England or even Premier League. Klopp until this season has 3 season with 90+ point (only Pep has that), Klopp has 2nd longest unbeaten streak in PL 44 games to Wenger`s 49 games, but during his streak Klopp won more points than Wenger`s streak, that is legendary. Klopp has streak of 38 games with only draws and only wins, nobody has done it, it is legendary, Klopp would have at least 2 more titles if it was for the 115 charges of City. Klopp comes and take terrible club in the middle of the season and lead ti to 2 finals, first full season gets, second full season gets CL final, 3rd full season wins CL and wins 97 points in PL, 4th season wins PL with record margin, all that is done with money like a middle of the table team. Klopp saved the PL, if it wasn`t for him it would look like French league or Bundesleague.

"Legend" or not is down to the choice of language, it is emotive and therefore can't be defined. What both of these pundits gloss over is the consistency of league performance even when not winning the league. No other manager in the time span of the Premier League brand has managed more 90+ point seasons. Klopp is tied with Pep on 3. Chelsea have done it three times but spread out over two managers. And Klopp during the same time period has made 3 Champions League finals and won one, the line between his LFC side and Pep's City side was so fine at times you would need a microscope to see it. Trophy lists don't recognise this excellence.

For the first 3 years. Liverpool weren't capable of challenging for the league. Klopp over-achieved with that group getting to Euoropa and CL finals... It was only for the last 4-5 years that Klopp had the team/squad to compete with City. Given that Pep has spent £1.5bn to Klopp's £500m... He has won 1 PL, been beaten on the last day of the season twice and been to 3 European Cup finals winning one. That's one hell of a record given the circumstances he was dealing with. It's been one hell of a ride! Thank you Jurgen!

Interesting conversation! ... if you look at it purely theough the lense of the Manager... and you compare CV's both as players and as managers... then Alonso is clearly more qualified to lead LFC than Arteta was to take the reins at Arsenal! 🤔 Having said that leading LFC is a different beast to leading Arsenal!
PS: the only true way to measure managers is points per 1£ + trophies per 1£ - then you can really see who is performing! - it levels the playing field...

For me, a legend doesn't need a full trophy cabinet, but the courage, sincerity, and pride to go their own way against all odds and make a lasting impact on people. Muggsy Bogues never won an NBA title, Bill Murray never won an Oscar, and Eddie the Eagle never even won a flower pot, etc. But, for me, they are also legends because they tread different paths than anyone else. Because they are prepared to fail magnificently. Because they take the difficult path, not the easy one. Because they touch, move, and inspire, rallying people behind them. Because they don't put themselves first, they put the cause first.
For these reasons, for me, Klopp would be a legend, even without great successes.
