Greetings from Scotland! This old song has been covered by many, many singers, but none has had the profound effect that Diana's voice had on me when I listened to this! Diana released this as a tribute to the fallen in the great wars. Diana's Grandad on her new mothers side is remembered by the family every May 9th - Pavel Ivovich Ponik - Guard Sergeant, Red Army. So this date means a lot to Diana and her new family. The song comes from 1933, composed by Lev Knipper and Viktor Gusev. The song was sung from the perspective of a young Red Army soldier going off to defend his people and homeland. A terrifying prospect which I cannot even imagine! Diana has a masterful ability to convey the emotions as if she were that young soldier!
Diana is 20yo currently but I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time!
Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. She was already winning every contest in Russia and other countries that she could get to. Then at 14yo Diana took part in an amazing Russian project "You're Super!" for abandoned/disadvantaged children (because Diana spent time in an orphanage) The 1st song she performed shocked the judges and audience so much, it went viral. This is not even the lowest or the highest she can go, her vocal abilities are out of this world and i would say that right now she is the best female vocalist that exist on this planet, no one can even come close to the things she can do with her voice.
The point of the video is not to tell the story of the song, the point of this video is to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on WWII (She posted this video for the Russian victory day, the day they celebrate their victory over WWII) and yes it is personal since her step Grandfather the owner of the cap at the end fought there, she treats her step family as her true family since her biological mother was a monster who almost killed her.
As for the budget she pays for most of her video from her own pocket, she does not yet have a producer.
You should see and hear more from her there is nothing out there from her that will not leave you with your mouth open, she truly has the voice of gods.

The field of battle, so pretty in sunshine masks the horror of the struggle of the Red Army. This is something all Russian people will remember and understand the setting of the video. The Russian people are not prone to making such big displays of theatrical emotion but the drama is in the words and language which when translated loses some of their impact. Her performance on the tv show when she sings Can't help falling in love, has an amazing stage but they have the money to do this. She is gaining popularity and will no doubt be able to produce higher quality and more internationally targeted videos in future. Personally I appreciate the understated rather than the glamourised and slick production that comes with more fame and money. 👍🇬🇧

This song isn't about the actual battlefields, it's a song of remembrance for those who were lost and those who grieved and those who are still grieving. I feel that the video shows this, particularly the last scene - it doesn't need anything more than this simplicity.

Послушай песню "Ты же выжил солдат" в исполнении Дианы...мне как русскому не важно как правильно она делает то или иное голосовое упражнение, мне важны слова и я душой чувство глубину и не мастерство исполнения,а точнее то,что Диана переживает в душе когда поёт, именно оно предает ей мастерство исполнения,ибо невозможно исполнить Мастерски не пронеся это через душу

I like her voice, but I didn't like that song. As well as other military songs. She is probably too young to realize that the Russian government uses her ability of singing for the evil, to increase the spirit of the aggressor side in the war. I hope she will choose another direction as she grows up.
And she does have the skills to sing the good songs. I really liked the way she sang "What a wonderful world".
Absolutely untrue to say she doesn't realize what she is doing. The song was written as an ode to Russian fighters in past, not present wars. She performs of her own volition, without government pressure. The military cap is her grandfather's, who fought the Nazis in WWII.

Because they don't like to analyse and to think in general, it's easier to believe to the lies of Russian propaganda, which brainwashing is also supported by inspiring singers, such as Diana and Shaman.
You are saying that it's untrue that she collaborates with the Russian government? How to explain that she was singing at the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry in 2022, "MVD" (МВД) Academy before. She was also participating in Tajikistan to support the head of the government Rahmon (Russian government ally), who is well known due to cult of personality, political represion, violation of human rights, corruption and nepotism.
From time to time she sings for money to support those egoistic individuals who work in Russian government, those who are bringing death, pain, numerous amount of human tragedies. Maybe she doesn't realize yet, then, at least, I hope that she will collect more information and that she will learn the truth one day.

Во-вторых, мне стыдно (мягко сказано), что другие русские готовы продать свои души и за деньги стать убийцами, пойти с оружием в руках к соседям, которые просто хотят нормально жить без войны. Откройте глаза, посмотрите на факты. Посмотрите, что происходит под контролем ФСБ (оно же КГБ, НКВД) во фсин РФ, какие пытки они устраивают больше 100 лет, какие провокации они делают. ЛНР и ДНР это их проект, построенный на вранье, запугивании и промывании мозгов за счет пропаганды - это их специализация. Про нацистов в Украине - это такое же враньё. Все военные РФ, которые туда приезжают, говорят об одном - что там нет никаких нацистов. Это война против защитников своей родины Украины.
