- Saviors is an invitation into Green Day’s brain, their collective spirit as a band, and an understanding of friendship, culture and legacy of the last 30 plus years.
It's raw and emotional. Funny and disturbing. It’s a laugh at the pain, weep in the happiness kind of record.
Honesty and vulnerability.
What is Saviors about, you ask?
Power pop, punk, rock, indie triumph. disease, war, inequality, influencers, yoga retreats, alt right, dating apps, masks, MENTAL HEALTH, climate change, oligarchs, social media division, free weed, fentanyl, fragility,,..
What would Andy Warhol do?
What would John Waters do?
What would Quentin Tarantino do?
What would GREEN DAY do?
Saviors, out now!! GreenDay.lnk.to/saviors
The Saviors Tour coming to North American and EU/UK this summer!! We’re playing both Dookie AND American Idiot in full AND a bunch of your other favorites new and old 🤯 Tickets on sale now greenday.com/tour

The American dream is killing me
The American dream is killing me
When it’s all double talk of conspiracy
The American dream is killing me
Send out an SOS
It’s getting serious
Bulldoze your family home
Now it’s a condo
We are not home
Are we not home
God damn I am so grateful
Forever faithful to
The American dream is killing me
The American dream is killing me
People on the street
Unemployed and obsolete
Did you ever learn to read the ransom note
Don’t want no huddled masses
TikTok and taxes
Under the overpass
Sleeping in broken glass
We are not well
Are we not well
Cracked up into the wild
We’re pedophiles for
The American dream is killing me
The American dream is killing me
When it’s all double talk of insanity
The American dream is killing me
From sea to shining sea
Whitewashed upon the beach
My country under siege
On private property
We are not home
Are we not home
Kiss me I’m dead inside
Who needs suicide
When the American dream is killing me
The American dream is killing me
When it’s all double talk of insanity
The American dream is killing me

Listening to Green Day since I'm 16 years old and I've struggled with so many typical teenage problems. Today I'm 33 and I can say that this band is keeping my sanity intact.

Same! I am 32

This is so good but you must hear “Live Not Survive” or “Winding Road” by SLT 🤘🎧🔥🎧🤘

“Kiss me I’m dead inside. Who needs suicide when the American Dream is killing me” felt that deep in my soul 😢
I'm sorry to hear about that, but empathize at the same time. The degradation of society began several generations ago and like the wheels of justice, it's been a slow burn.
We all feel that.
America has been going downhill for such a long time.
Sadly, the American Idiots of this country think if you speak up about it, it automatically means you hate America and should get out. They expect us all to just continue getting fucked and be happy about it.
This is so good but you must hear “Live Not Survive” or “Winding Road” by SLT 🤘🎧🔥🎧🤘
Hope it gets better
@@beezybeez4207, what's SLT?
this man's voice doesnt get old.. More power to Green day 🥵
Yea his vocals can never blow out like 80's singers or angst 00's; he'll probably have that range in his 70's.
Uhmm, it’s tuned to hell.
@@MrPinpoint007 he's still got his voice though. Listen to some of the recent live shows. He still sounds 20.
his voice is green like electric car🥴
@@lowie9783 some days better than others, but I think I’d agree that compared to some of his contemporaries, he’s sounding pretty good.
Its great how they make an album every election year

@@littleredruri it is and your right about there being no (Green Day) album in 2020 but they have been doing it since 2004

The fact that Green Day credited everybody in the video from the director to the Zombies tells the world what kind of people they are: absolute class acts!
Even the water truck driver and the catering
@@harleyrobles560 Exactly! They're all important and have their meaningful role!
That wouldn't be their call. You need to shout out the producers, its up to them.
@@iceman10129 Good point, thanks. That again speaks of the kind of producers they work with; class act producers, haha! I'm an advocate for always crediting people (where credit is due, of course), and seeing this extensive credit list here just warmed my rock n roll heart! All the best!
It's the same when you see them live! I've seen them a couple times now, and there's always more than the three of them on the stage, every single one of them still gets a mention and drawn attention to towards the end, when he goes 'give it up for...'
Green day has remained my favorite band for over a decade, this is why.
A decade? Like one decade?

Nice. Dookie got me hooked 30 years ago :) Check out their Woodstock 94 set.

I can remember being young getting into a band for the first time. There's nothing quite like having 6 or so albums worth of songs to go back and listen to for the first time
Green Day was the first Rock band CD I bought when I was 12 in 2004. They have always been my favorite ❤ They never disappoint!! 🙌🏼🔥 I will finally get to see them in concert for the first time later this year 😃

It's been a solid run, haven't felt this excited since Rev Rad. And One Eyed Bastard was yet another banger and I loved the heavier sound compared to the other singles
@@dylanburton4955 I have to listen to it again, liked it the first time around though. The bass really stood out, which I always appreciate

I wish Pop-punk and modern musical tech existed back when Ben Franklin was just a kid!
I think you're confusing them with the Rolling Stones
Fake😊
@@ezgaphi Are you trying to be funny or profound with your "fake"?
This sounds as if it came STRAIGHT from American Idiot and even adds easter eggs to past songs, this is going to be the best rock album of this decade.
I thought the same thing! American Idiot /21st Century era. No more Father of All nonsense
Too bad more didn't get it.
Heard Basket Case in there!
Came back after listening to Dilemma, and I've never been this hyped for an album to drop. Finally.
This video makes me think: "If the zombie apocalypse did happen, where would Green Day be?" They'd probably attach shotguns to their instruments and entertain the survivors.
I got my first Green Day CD when I was 11. Now I’m 30 and it’s 6:00AM and I’m on my way to work in a factory for less than $18/hr and can honestly say THE AMERICAN DREAM IS KILLING ME
In Italy it's 10,50 euro an hour as a factory worker , sometime less 😢...
Dude fucking yes. Same here. Being 30 and waking up to this shit American dream. Green Day lead my disenfranchisement and now they continue to do so.
...and just think in 32 more years ( your not even half way there) you can retire. Yup, the American dream is killing all of us!!😂
$200/month as a factory worker here in Indonesia, where the prices of electronic goods are the same throughout the world.
That includes being pressured by superiors or colleagues, where in Indonesia the people are known to be friendly, which is not true, they are annoying. Easily jealous & jealous, just naturally other humans.
So, selling/trading is a brilliant idea.
just having an average job isn't the american dream though. it isn't the dream killing you. i was in the same situation at 30 due to my own ignorance, denial, stupidity, fear, etc, but at $4.30/hr back then. your reason might be different, but for me it wasn't the american dream's fault. it was mine.
I'm 47...Green Day has been my band since I was a teenager. So happy they are still making music. All I listen to I the car, on my phone, non-stop. I never grow tired. No other band. I hope to see them someday before they stop touring. Literally my #1 bucket list item, no joke. LOVE YOU GUYS TO DEATH! Green Day FOREVER!!!
You haven't seen them?!?! 😮 I got to see them twice on the American Idiot tour. I got my dad to take me to one in Toronto in November 2004. I forgot my CD in his car. He prompted my brother to go buy me a new one, as mine was commendered. August 2005 they actually came to my crappy city (Barrie). I didn't have a -choice- about attending one. (These are both in Ontario, Canada. )
My dad died two years ago due to alcoholism. I had to leave his side to attend rehab. Holiday is the song I listened to before his funeral. Literally before I could have the strength to walk through the doors. It was his favourite.
I shared my love of Green Day with my daddy, & it only made our love stronger. ❤ Green Day os the gift that just keeps on giving.
You HAVE to see them!
Make it happen 🙌
I've seen them live 4 times and they never disappoint. They don't do shows, they do EVENTS!
I’m telling you I waited 30 years to see them and no regrets. In fact I’m prioritizing seeing them often. The energy and showmanship was hands down the most enjoyable time I’ve ever experienced.
@@nxdice so? We're lucky to have him.
I listened to this song 13x the past 3 days; most of it was on repeat in my brain.
I use Green Day to remember my life. I’m 38 and I cant remember a time when Green Day wasn’t there. I remember where I was and what I was doing based on the which album came out. Always listening.
I feel this. 💚

My first album was warning when I was 11..that sent me down the rabbit hole of the Green Days discography. Been on of my favorite bands since then. I’m 30 and I still blast Green Day with pride. Such nostalgic tunes for me. The only album I didn’t like was “father of all mother f***ers”
This album brought me back to warning and nimrod.. so good!!
Also I notice a lot of 30 year olds in the comments. We were born between the era of kerplunk and dookie, by the time we bought our first album we had a plethora of Green Day songs to delve into. Yea we were a bit late to enjoy them live in the 90s but this band is still nostalgic to us. I felt like I’ve known this band since I was born. I’m sure y’all know what I mean. They will forever be my top band that I hold dear and near to my heart. I almost had a panic attack when I won tickets to Kevin and beans last breakfast with Green Day. Front row and only like 100 people. Best show of my life..

Warning is one of my favorite Green Day albums and one of their most underrated. Sure, it was a departure from their 90s sound, but that contains some of their catchiest and finest songs
Listening to them since 2004. Every new release I’m hyped and excited the same way I was 20 years ago. They keep their sound and their energy like true legends. BEST BAND EVER!!!!
Heck yeah brother. I’ve been listening since 1994, and feel the same way as you! Not only do they never age or slow down, I honestly think they keep getting better.
Yes!!!! Green Day fans UNITE!!! I've already called my local record store, to make sure they will have it on its' release. Guaranteed I'm the one who informed the lady it was coming. 😂 I don't know of she was a fan or not, but you could tell she really enjoyed my excitement!

I saw them perform a couple of days ago and heard this song. They're such an incredible band, and so amazingly talented. I appreciate them so much.
I've been a fan of Green Day most of my life, and they've been helping us thru so much. This feels like old green day with a hint of new. They keep killing it!
Is there even such a thing as new/old Green Day anymore?
I remember this being a term to differentiate American Idiot from anything that came before it (specifically a term haters used to pretend the band sucked from then onwards), but next year American Idiot will be 20 years old... Is that considered "old" Green Day now?

That's MY upbringing all the way through, then it's like we passed the torch to your generation to rock with American Idiot through to FOAM... Now they're STILL making great music for the next ones coming through. Mind blowing!
@@mcpete912 "FOAM" is a ridiculous album that isn't even recognizable as Green Day. I don't know why it was even made. I hope this one is much better.
@@user-lg9hc1nl9u I have to agree with you there 👊
@@user-lg9hc1nl9u That album was just meant as a joke because they were off their contract with Warner but had to do one more album so they wanted to just fuck with everyone. Now we are back to serious business.
it sounds like the most popular green day albums but is a new song i really like it
Thanks for making this album. I’ve been listening to it on repeat and I have not got bored.
Green Day has always stood up for the people. So happy they see what’s going on and also push the need for change. ❤
yeah I remember when world govts wanted us all to wear face diapers and get gene therapy and Green Day was all for it
🇵🇸🇵🇸
From their million dollar homes lol
@@SmellyCheeseBro you're right bro they should live on the streets in poverty 🔥🔥
The party of their political leanings is the reason we are where we are. Green Day are indeed American Idiots.
Green Day has been one of my favorite bands for 18 years, and I always get excited when they announce a new album. Super stoked for another one!
I got into Greenday when I was around 12, and now I'm 25 and still listening to you guys. Love ya from Meghalaya
Love this - hope you are all feeling better now and looking forward to seeing you at Wembley in June 💚💚💚
I needed this. Thank you for continuing to make music. I've been having massive health issues. You guys are my favorite band. Thank you for this. Love you guys so much.
Good luck to ya ! Rock on
I love you Green Day! I skated while blasting Dookie from my car, with all my friends! You’ve been a part of the Soundtrack of my life since the 90’s!
Some real music, ladies and gentlemen. Finally some good stuff for our ears and soul. Thank God for Green Day! I feel alive again in my late 20s!
Always with a good social critic.
Since I went to college, I met Dookie, and now I have 4 children. Greenday's songs never disappoint me
40 yrs old....still got a red mohawk....still got neighbours complaining 'bout my music ( so does my ol' lady an the kids! ) ....still drinking too much beer of a weekend an still thrashing about on my M.B like I'm 17....... I LOVE BEING FUCKED UP!! 😉😆😆
Since I went to college, never heard of Green Day, got no kids and still listening to Blink-182.
@@skifullydone8165 it's never too late...download a few of their albums....grab a case of beer an join the party
@@skifullydone8165 Say you're still 19 without saying you're 19. Good for you bub, now go listen to Behemoth and step your game up
So being 32 and still acting like I'm 17 is no biggie than? 😂
So awesome that Mike returned to his Grabber for this one!!! I really hope he used it for more songs if not. the entirety of the album. There’s something about the punch + attack in every note with that bass that I’ve never heard him hit in quite the same frequency using any other bass. They’re so back!!!
Hard agree, he plays a bass like he's weilding it, and it's always been very eye-catching.
Tre meanwhile being the perfect clown he has always been makes me SO HAPPY 😂
Love this classic sound
You people with the negative comments don't understand this band at all. There is an interview that they did recently, where they explain the meaning of this song. They talk about how THEY absolutely were able to achieve the ultimate
American dream, 30 years ago! But now the American dream is unattainable to the average person. They see the struggles that people are going through, and how much harder it is just to survive. They weren't born millionaires. They got where they are with talent and luck. And they don't take their success for granted. They are involved with more charities than I can count.
Musicians and songwriters sing about things that they are passionate about. When they see injustice happening, they are going to speak out about it.
+. 100% agree. (The band is writing about injustices they are witnessing....it would be bad if they stopped writing about these things because it no longer "personally" affects them... Glad they are still calling out injustice, capitalism, America's stupidity for 20+ years. [Also f@ck all the ignorant haters])
This song is everything I would want from a new Green Day song and I’m so ready for this album
Been listening to Green day for close to 25 years and they will forever and always be my favourite band and musicians!
You have been the soundtrack to my life. It is as though you reached into my soul and sang out the essence of it. I have been to Christie Road and will travel the rest with you all. Thank you for keeping this outcast company through every step of the way. Come back to winnipeg, mb., We love you here.
It's great to hear your work again. I like everything about you. You guys are amazing. Love you ☺️🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Green Day's music videos are like a time machine that takes us back to the golden era of punk rock. They keep the spirit of rebellion alive with every frame and chord!🎸📺
Minus the explicit politics.
"Keep the spirit of the rebellion alive" NOW that takes the cake for funniest comment I read all day. The guys folded in back when Obama got in office, they are as bad as Rage For the Machine formally known as "Rage against the machine"
@@andypitchless5515 do you know what punk even is?
@@LGBTGROOMSOURCHILDRENFunny troll
Yeah so rebellious being corporate-sponsored and pushing government narratives.. so punk bro lmao!!
Not just a band, but a part of my life❤
True
Remember seeing green day live at the 02 they were brilliant
This 62 year old may have to mosh out to this one.
💃
This 65 year old fellow fan would like to mosh out, too, but I'm a bit too creaky. I suppose I 'll have to settle for the mosh pit of the mind. I'd really love to get to a concert, though. The band still still sounds great, and this song rocks with in-your-face energy and witty lyrics, as I've come to expect from them!
Child hood band and still my teenage band favorite!! KEEP ON ROCKING GREENDAY!! 🤘🤘
My teenage band and still my midlife crisis band favorite!! KEEP ON ROCKING GREEN DAY!! 🤘🤘
For me it's Nirvana but Green Day is my top 3-5 favorite.
i cant pick between all of them LOL but personally Nirvana is my top 1 and top 1.2 will be greenday since my name is literally Kurt too LOL!
I may have been born in 2006 but I guess I can say I have grown up with Green Day and I already know this album is going in my library when it releases.
I born in 2004 and I grew up with GD too!!
1992 here... 👴
1982 here too!

Unbelievable voice. Green day will never die 💙
GREEN DAY one of the most iconic bands of our time still putting out records. ✌✌✌✌✌✌
Billie, Mike, Tre, thank you for letting me grow up with your music. It means so much to me.
Green Day has always been there for me when times have been hard.
Minority vibes here. They never stop amazing me. Love you guys 💚
Legendary Band! Great song! Love Green Day ❤❤❤❤
