Great ideas. Little tip, the million extension cords we all have and can never find, i roll them up and store neatly in toilet paper rolls. When I need them for holiday lights, they are much easier to find
Jumper cables in cereal box, for the computers and video cords - haven't updated. Poster / presentation rolls work nicely; if cut carefully and bend open. Screw into back of centre or desk and if are close enough to the outlet power strip can be slid inside or zip tied topside.
Not a tiny house dweller, but a tiny apartment dweller. I'm always looking for new ways to try to save some space and these will definitely help. Thank you!
Some good tips, but many are really vague and don’t provide enough information about how to implement the hack. It would have nice to see more examples that match the description.
This video had some really good ideas that aren't scruffy or just plain ugly ... so I really appreciated this one. I would also like to see more storage ideas for rental properties so that people aren't left with holes that need filling and repainting when they leave. I have another point to make, and that is about putting containers on the inside of cups doors. One needs to consider that whatever is inside the cupboard needs to be pushed further back to account for the space the containers need when closing the doors.
yes, even the lids for my pots and pans won't fit on the inside of my doors (I checked and additionally, my pots and pans drawers are very shallow but pull out). There's very little room between the shelf edge and the door in any of my cupboards...including my pantry. Plus extra weight on the inside of a door or pantry door - the upper hinge needs to be checked for durability. But I'm still here, trying to find a solution and some of these are great anyway. I may be able to work around some of the shelf edge/door issues...maybe.
I ordered a whole box of fridge storage bins from dollar tree’s website. We put all the ingredients to a favorite recipe in them, so I just take the bin of chili fixin’s, or the bin of charcuterie cheeses, out and start making a meal. They work great in the cupboard and the fridge. I might need more for my craft room.
Great episode. Cutting the soda bottles for screws and stuff..But also great for craft supplies. The edges of the hole can be sharp. Line it with something like washi tape.
Well, I used the idea tonite for one of my plastic rolling carts. In my tiny bathroom. Works perfectly!!! Oh and the pretty basket for cupcake pans and some smaller baking sheets!! Also done tonight!! Very pleased with your video. Thank you!!!
I LOVE that hanging shoe idea. My closet floor is overrun with shoes and the basket method isn't working out for me. I look forward to putting your great idea to good use. 🙂 Thanks for these awesome tips.
I have a wine rack in my bathroom as a towel holder. For towels that we are going to reuse for our showers, we have a towel rack that I bought from Kirkland's for $20. Its adorable. We have the shower racks. I'm going to do the lids for cook ware thing. This helps me as a mother/wife/housekeeper (I clean other homes as well) Also, who has that many step ladders?
That is genius! I thrift a lot and see wine racks all the time. I don’t drink wine so this is awesome! I’ll definitely be giving them a second look next time. Thank you!
I got the impression that those “step ladders” were made for that purpose but designed after the step ladder concept. They look fairly simple to make if one had basic woodworking skills. Actual step ladders prob won’t work as well since the shelves need to be deeper.
The over the sink kitchen shelf is a bad spot for salt and pepper shakers and paper towel rolls. Water sprays and hot water steam would definitely wreak havoc on these items .
Some great tips here. However, I need to point out the potential danger in turning a drawer into a little, hidden charger and power cord area. It looks great and is super organized... and tempting! BUT... PLEASE keep in mind that sometimes, the little batteries and charge hubs/cubes can get very hot, and power strips can wear and short out. So, you will want to avoid heat damage or worse, fire. Just be sure to monitor your things often to ensure things are keeping cool. A little air flow is helpful too. Maybe add a mini fan to that strip :0)
I never charg anything overnight while I'm sleeping. One time I was recharging a flashlight, and it's starting to catch fire. If we had been asleep, or out of the house, our home might have burned down. The only time I will recharge anyting is if it is right beside me while I'm awake.
Dorin Riki Friends a fireman and lots of homes have been burnt down due to people leaving devices to charge overnight. All they find is the plug in pins left in the wall. Stick to that rule, could save your life.
great tips. now the power cords all together inside a drawer is a fire hazard and when you find out it will be too late. 🔥🔥 I wouldn't cut a plastic bottle that way because it would cut my hand when I try to grab something from it. and I wouldn't leave vitamins out in the open air like that. the other tips were great.
2:32 Cereal container trash can in the car is a brilliant idea! Paint it to match car dashboard or interior and done! Very smart. 4:07 - PVC Pipe fittings for hair dryer - Love it! I had a problem with mine. 5:37 - Great idea for pesky cords all over. This is very useful for me. Will implement!
I received a pewter pitcher as a wedding present, but it wasn't big enough to serve water. So, I put my utensils in it next to my stove and now every time I cook, I think of my aunt and uncle who gave it to me.
Agreed. But also you should ALWAYS close the lid before you flush - and insist that anyone who uses your bathroom do the same. The velocity of the flush spews microscopic particles of feces and urine into the air with every flush. Put a sign right above the toilet reminding them.
You have new ideas I have not seen. And thank you explaining what you are showing. And not going so fast I have to stop and slow the speed of the video down half so I can get everything you're showing. Thanks again.
These ideas are great. The stacking baskets you can buy at Kmart and they're fantastic in the pantry for sorting kids lunchbox snacks. The rolling shelf (#4) we got at IKEA and use to store our kids art supplies. The IKEA cutlery strainer for the kitchen is perfect to hold pencils, textas and crayons in it too.
@@Kaliduur This is what happened to me. The hooks fell off. Over & over, no matter what I used. I think the ideal solution would be to screw curtain rods permanently into the inside of the cabinet door, but my cabinet doors are so hard & thin that if you can actually get a screw to go into them, it pokes out the other side. I finally gave up and now I keep my lids in a metal basket inside the cabinet.

In several of the screens, what you were discussing did not coordinate with the video. But for the most part , the ideas were good and I will use several of them.
Those odd spaces next to the washer and dryer units, refrigerator and freezer; are for air circulation. These need that space for cooler air, also it decreased lint and mold in laundry closet.
This is the best hacks video, I have ever seen! Usually, these videos are pretty much all the same. This video was WAAAAAY, better. I actually hadn't heard of almost any of there, so this was very useful for me! Thanks!
Agreed 👍 This one is for Real Life items that really do need organizing. So many Organization Hack vids are tacky-looking, el-cheapo organization of "stuff" that ought be taken to reuse shops, or thrown out!! (Mostly thrown out)
I watched to see what the soda bottles were being used for but also got many other good ideas. The only one I would quibble with is storing towels over the toilet, the area of spray after flushing would get them germy. Not everyone closes the lid.
Totally agree. It has been proven that when the toilet is flushed, all sorts of stuff start floating and contaminating surfaces, including toothbrushes.
Good point about the flying germs. I love the basket idea though. I think that I will measure clearance in my "linen closet" and see if I can use the idea moved to the door of the closet instead. I would really LOVE more out of sight storage space. Thanks for the ideas - then we can play with them to make them doable to our circumstances.
I really like the cookie sheets idea as I store them in my oven and have to move everything out each time I use the oven. And I bake alot. The other idea not so much especially storing my towels above the toilet. Research shows that bacteria is airborne each time you flush. Thank you for sharing tho.
I wish you listed underneath this video where to find some of these products for us to buy so we can benefit from all you showed us!!!Thank You so much for doing this!!!!
That wrapping paper in the garmet bag... GENIUS...thank you!!!!
So many great ideas here! My daughter and her husband are building a Tiny House, so a lot of this will come in very useful! Thank you!
The wooden 'ladder' storage for bins is genius! Thanks- I needed that!
Where to get the wooden ladders for bins? Or how do you make them?

1:22 Keep your potatoes and onions away from each other! Helps keep them fresh longer :)
Cool and dry and air circulation are needed for those things she shut in the drawer.
You'll end up with mold and mildew.
I wish you can tell my brother this. He just wont listen
I actually hang mine in those cloth reusable shopping bags. Works great!

Good shout! 😉
Can heat with a lighter it softens the edge not sharp anymore
Towels above the toilet is never a good idea 😂
Absolutely, to much bacteria in the air when you flush
Don’t you put the lid down before each flush? I do, like you said Jana, too much bacteria 🦠

People, do not charge anything inside a confined compartment like a wooden drawer! Even less next to your bed. Just don't do it. Thank you!

I think a silicone oven proof mat added to a drawer bottom is a very good idea actually! One added later of potential damage control!

When lids (or anything) are hung on the door, it makes the door too heavy and it won't close properly.
or they clang against the door, or your the only one that uses them anyway.
And when the wight of the lids will make the removable hooks too get loose in time, the lids will fall.
