- [Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] "Time of your life, huh kid?" Here is the complete expanded film score to the classic Paul Brickman film that put Tom Cruise on the map, the one and only "Risky Business", all of which is composed by the legendary synth wave group Tangerine Dream. This video brings together all the score material composed for the film including the rare unreleased material that isn't available for public purchase. All of which has been exclusively enhanced & remastered by my brother Andy Morales. Let me begin by saying that I absolutely LOVE this score; It truly elevates the film's artistic visuals and stylistic approaches. However, it is truly a shame that only 5 tracks from this film have been released when they were included on the soundtrack album from 1984 by Virgin Records. Look no further as this video brings you a grand total of 26 (most of which are unreleased making this the definitive score album). Risky Business is a 1983 American teen coming-of-age comedy film that was written and directed by Paul Brickman (in his directorial debut) and stars Tom Cruise as Joel Goodson and Rebecca De Mornay as Lana. It is widely known as Cruise's breakout film (as it features the iconic Bob Seger - "Old Time Rock and Roll" living room sequence), Risky Business was a critical and commercial success, grossing more than $63 million against a $6.2 million budget. Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only continuous member up until his death in January of 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-'70s era of Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, Peter Baumann and Johannes Schmoelling. They are considered pioneers of the early days of electronic music and has scored upwards of 60 films which include (but not limited to) Sorcerer, Thief, The Keep, Firestarter, Legend, Three O'Clock High, Near Dark, Shy People, Miracle Mile, and of course Risky Business. Overall, Risky Business redefined synth scores for the 80's; With tracks like "The Dream Is Always The Same" (Track 1) & "Love On A Real Train" (Track 18, 19, & 20) being similar to something reminiscent of Netflix's "Stranger Things" it's no surprise that this score has helped shape and influence many future synth composers of the following decades. This complete OST expanded soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label '83.
-TO ALL VIEWERS, FEEL FREE TO THANK MY BROTHER (ANDY MORALES) FOR REMASTERING THESE TRACKS IN THE COMMENTS AS HE PUT A LOT OF HEART & SOUL INTO FINALLY GIVING YOU GUYS THIS EXPANDED ALBUM IN AMAZING QUALITY.
*I can assure you that this video is (and probably always will be) the CLOSEST THING you will get to an official expanded soundtrack score release. Also noting that very few tracks in this video have some slight sound effects but are near perfect, enjoy!*

Hey guys, I also uploaded a separate video which just contains the super rare Tangerine Dream scores from the Risky Business Audio Movie Kit for your listening / viewing pleasure. You can watch / listen to it through this link: czcams.com/video/7aO0OmwxDyQ/video.html
No words...pure bliss...how can one get this remastered version...is the original official OST just 5 tracks or did I missunderstand?
This soundtrack took this film to a whole new level.
This and Vangelis with Blade Runner a year earlier.
My favorite movie soundtrack ever, magical
Definitely. Watched it for the hundredth time, and as of 2022 this film still holds up. I always thought of it as a darker John Hughes type of movie. The score stands on its own though, as a complicated, haunting and dreamy work of pure synth!
Sure did
This soundtrack inspired me so much early in my music career. It helped my find other artist such as "Ian Hammer".
40 years old!
Still a riveting soundtrack by tangerine dream
This is total 1980’s vibes
I was thinking the same thing a few days. Can't believe the 80s is that far back.
i just saw this movie for the first time a week ago and the soundtrack blew me away, the intro song especially
My friend laughed at me in the 90's when I bought this on CD...what an oaf
@@joelster23 plenty of oafs out there, including my wife.
Some of the music is from their 70's albums.
It's that 80s feel. Risky business was definitely a classic that era in time had to be lived.
I'm 21, put this on while I'm studying-very good motivation music. Love this movie!
Awesome that younger people are still into 80's music and film. I'm biased since I was born and grew up in that decade, but I still consider it one of the top eras for both!
@@vladimirhorowitzyeah 22 and 70s/80s movies are the greatest!
Me too. 22 and I'm thankful to 80s teenage movies which made my teen years more enjoyable. Risky Business is one of my favorites. I also like the representation of 80s capitalism and consumerism, one of many reasons why I love Oliver Stone's Wall Street too.
Fricking love the 80s...movies, music, NES, arcades, drive in theaters...
My sister and I both fell in love with the music, and this film put Tangerine Dream on our musical maps. Still love their work!!!
Me too. Huuuge TD fan for more than 40 years now. Have seen them 3 times now live. ❤Greetings Dirk Belgium.
I am hypnotized by "Love on a Real Train (Album Version). 😍 Should be much longer. 😊
I don't know why but it takes you back to a first Love
a complete innocents
with a depth of feeling that you don't understand at all
barely survivable at that age
oblivious that it will never be repeated❤❤
I noticed this album is not available on iTunes which was disappointing. I had it on cassette & CD for years ! Thank you for sharing this, CZcams is great for rare & unreleased material.
One thing I have noticed, each of the "Love on a Real Train" songs are different in very subtle ways. I love it! Time of your life!
During the 80's was a time of world-class music, creative cinema and a genearal sense of cohesiveness in society ... in my opinion it was the height of living in the USA and being an American!
True. Today, USA has become a joke.
Thank you for this it sounds amazing. The movie itself without the soundtrack is awesome, but if it wasn't for Tangerine Dream's amazing sountrack I don't think the movie would have been so memorable
"Joel & Lana". 9 seconds, three chords. It's like a secret gift.
So much of this movie's character comes from these sounds.
Love this! Tangerine Dream at it's finest!
It's mostly a compilation of their late 70's early 80's stuff from about 4-5 albums. Some of it's new for the film but not much.
GTA V soundtrack was also awesome. Definitely much more popular too.
The soundtrack to this and THIEF clicked with me. As a Chicagoan from the boring Southwest side, it made my hometown dreamy. I pursued a film career and stuck worth it for 20 years for better or worse. I blame this awesome soundtrack.
How cool, i hope you enjoyed the journey James. I think music is 60-70% of what makes a stunning film over an average film. I hear tracks and will be transported back decades to an unforgetable scene. Films makes us who we are in my opinion, learning from others lives and loves over 90 minutes, whether it is from a story or a biography. Picking our morals and life choices as we watch. With seemingly the whole world at each others throats "American Fiction" was the last movie that made me sit back and contemplate how most of us, are actually just trying to get through life dispite our flaws.
P.S. Growing up in a time when people trusted information and presenters, we had a cool guy in the UK called James Burke. A Science presenter, i still go down rabbit holes watching his work today. Such a great orator, his programes were fascinating. czcams.com/video/_jQ5JjvDtKA/video.html
I saw Thief and Sorceror before I finally got around to seeing this, when 'Tangerine Dream' came up it was 'at least the music will be good if the film sucks'. Thief is best of their scores I've heard so far.

I remember the first time I watched this movie with my parents, I was absolutely blown away by the cinematography, soundtrack, and of course, the entire movie. It was cool af🔥🔥
I would have cringed watching this with my parents 😂.
@@dakritic I watched it many more times by myself and it was a vibe😎
I remembered watching the Love on a Real Train scene and the music and it stayed with me for years - only rediscovered the track about 6 years ago. Bliss
Probably my favourite Tom Cruise movie, just because of the soundtrack from TD.
i feel the same, bro
Saw this with friends in the theater, was my 1st introduction to TD. To say that the music score was impactful would be an under-statement. A few days later I went to the record store amd picked up their LP "Exit"...it changed my understanding of what music could be, what it could do. As someone who had prior only listened to local radio stations (through the 70s & 80s) which was I admit was amazing at the time, this was like opening a door to another world. Was an amazing experience! For which I'll always be grateful for the film and the amazing job TD did on it! 😎👍
Love this movie, i'm only 28 but there's something about this soundtrack & others from the 80's that just do it for me 😂
When I saw this film, oh, so many years ago (30?), I enjoyed it --- but I LOVED the music & never forgot it: it introduced me to Tangerine Dream, for a start --- so very many thanks to you & your remarkable brother for taking so much of your time & patience to share this wonderful music with the rest of us --- CZcams at its best!
Never saw the film, now i want to see it
Wtf? It’s a classic masterpiece of teen ‘80s cinema, on par with John Hughes stuff
This soundtrack and also the film means a lot to me. Thanks so much for compiling this 😎!
Unreal that it was never released. Thank you Andy!
I want this on vinyl.
So calming and yet not so complicated!
Oh my God....This is amazing. Great film, great soundtrack. Thank you ...
Thank you so much! I use to have to sit through the movie just to listen to the incredible exclusive Film Versions of these amazing tracks. Now I don’t have to! :D
Greatest soundtrack ever!!
Nice work! I know a few years back there was like a 4-6 cd bootleg floating around on some of the file sharing apps that was all music/versions from Risky Business
Hey🤩🌮🚲🇺🇸🏜its gettin hot in southtown, yall dont know🎣🏜🎣🏜🎣🏜🎣🏜🥑👊🤩♥️♥️🚲🌮
thanks for uploading this! still one of my favourite movie soundtracks. tangerine dream are great. the love on a real train bit is a classic. especially the scene in the film.....

OMG such memories! I wish it was longer!
memories of what, my g?
@@jay1jayfOf being a kid, watching this movie for the first time during the 80's.
@@blueblade455 Do you really have memories associated with a 9 second tune? How has life change since the 80s?
I love TD and Love on a real train. Greetings Dirk Belgium
Love the excerpt of Cloudburst Flight. Feel like I'm on the Starship Enterprise flying through space.
This was totally awesome!
Absolute classic!
I got into the Blues because of the Muddy Waters track on the OST "Mannish Boy"
recently got into TD via dolphin dance. this is my go to mp3 late at night with a red wine or bottle on holiday. thanks for doing this.
Very cool music!
Purple ohm, micro dots, the walls are the windows should be and the windows are where the walls should be. Great 👍 times
Of all there soundtrack albums WAVELENGTH is for me ICONIC. Have it on cd and vinyl (from 976-CREOLEMAN).

This is brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
13:29 awesome 🤩 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you for sharing!
Excelente documento gracias
Thank you Andy!
Love it 💋
Thank YOU!!!!
Inreible amigo 🕶
Better times
Sick!!
I'm amazed and delighted to discover this album, and a little disappointed in modern synthwave music, which doesn't even just have its precursors here. It's the exact same sound. Nothing has been innovated. Synthwave was complete in the 80s and we're just recycling it. Not saying the new stuff's bad
I bet tangerine dream did the music for the back to the future teaser trailer. It sounds like them.
by far the best aprils fools joke
💓💓💓💓
Makes you wonder of 'ol Jan Hammer borrowed from this for his Epic Miami Vice sounds!?
❤️
The beginning kind of sounds like the silver crosses from The Keep.
WHAT is the song at 21:20 ? Insane amounts of awesome
when you get 5 stars: 0:15
Tangerine dream did the soundtrack for gta 5, hopefully they can do 6 as well.
whats the name of the track which starts 25:05 ? thx in advance
Cloudburst Flight from the 1978 album Force majeure.
Force Majeure came out in 1979.
Moi jean-christophe enfin bref 😮
I hear portions of this soundtrack in the stranger things season one scenes.....
hmmm... mass effect...
Seems to me some tracks are from other albums...
A better version of the original soundtrack with rare cues that are already on the movie ... but 26) Love On A Real Train (End Credits) still doesn't sound like in the real ending credits movie yet ... I want it with the sound effects and full complete
La encontraste amigo?
Synth wave? More like progressive electronic or just electronic.
This feels like it could be on a gta 5 heist soundtrack lol
well TD did 35 hours of music stems for GTAV ;)
Theif maybe?
There is a European sound track album from “thief” that is excellent. I was told it wasn’t available commercially here. I got a used copy from a CD store in SLC 30 years ago.
typical Vaporwave!
Awesome !!!
