Rest in peace Kevin Conroy, you'll always be batman but no one can play captain sunshine like you.
Didn’t realize that was Kevin but not now I hear it. Damn
@@gamingpanda7516I can’t hear it when he’s screaming
How am I just realizing this
"He always said he would have the last laugh" "He was always wrong" LOL
I love Red Dragoon.
I always forget that Red Mantle has actual superpowers and isn't just an old man.
He's also Buddy Holly. And Dragoon is the Big Bopper
He cloak is the powers.
They did when they fought against phantom limb. Then they lost and he sewed them together. They even state one controls half the body and the other controls the other half.
@@fumothfan9 But we didn't see him use anything it was just ZAP dead.
Like, his powers only appear twice, and once isn't even clear he's doing anything. A bit of a wasted character, really, should have shown him, I dunno, making a chair for them to sit in or something.
Can we just appreciate the absolute dedication and loyalty of those henchmen to actually go through with that last request? Boggles must have treated those men really well.
Apparently high ranking Guild Members (level 8-10) try to keep good working relationships with their minions/henchmen. They need competency, and loyalty, which is hard to come by in a high mortality job like Henching. So when they find a good one, it's important they survive. Hell, some villains like Crime-O-Dile will put their henchmens safety before their own.
@@TheLichruler As seen by Crime-O-Diles headstone that Wonderboy was sitting on during the funeral.
@@otakon17 speaking of we now have a pretty nifty time frame for the venture bros
Crime o dile didn't he fought captain Sunshine when he was mencioned
@@gustavogutierrez6568 Didn't what? Die? Because if he didn't, who's headstone is that at 0:36?
When you think about it Captain Sunshine's reaction is understandable when you consider he was the original wonder boy and has known Boggles for most of his life.
I also like to think it references the strange pseudo-romantic relationship Batman and Joker have.
@@keiviroque5666 I more leaning towards like a doctor Z like the arch enemy dad figure
okay Red Mantle & Dragoon stole this scene
"Too soon!"
he always said he'd have the last laugh "he was always wrong"
They shall call themselves red dragon :3
@@yangfox1755 RED DRAGOON YOU UNCULTURED SWINE!
@@darthlazurus4382 txs a lot mom you are embarrassing me in front of my friends
@@yangfox1755 That's what we're for. Now you either got to stop masterbating or do your own laundry.
@@yangfox1755 No, I'm too busy hooking up with all those morning singles and open minded types. Not the best place to get laid, but far from the worse.
So if Boggles was the original Captain Sunshine's villain, that means Chuck's known him for most of his life.
If I'm right, that puts a new perspective on this scene. It's like a part of Chuck is dying in that coffin as well.
Could be a similar relationship to Action Johnny and Dr. Z.
Even more that Captain Sunshine is played by Kevin Conroy (that's Batman from The Animated Series) crying at the funeral of his departed clown nemesis, lol
Also remember Batman's dark, intimidating voice, the next time you watch that episode where he runs by screaming, *"WONDER BOOOOOOOY!"*
And as of Season 7 Desmond/og Captain Sunshine has also bit the dust too.
Basically batman without his joker
1:57
Yup
The "funeral march played on calliope" may be one of the single funniest isolated bits in the entire series.
I'd love to hear the entire Chopin Death March in that fashion.
I have tried my best to find a version of this. No one has an idea for it.
I want it. LOL
@@CarreraTommy Damn it.
Certainly the most whimsical version of the Funeral March that exists. Probably because it’s arranged as a waltz rather than as a march.
Kevin sobbing "Get off me!" is probably one of my favorite moments in his career.
Had to edit this some time after the news of his passing. He truly was a titan in the voice-acting industry and will be greatly missed.
Huh, i always thought he said "HE GOT ME!", but i think you're right because he pushes wonderboy back
RIP.
He enjoyed voicing Sunshine, most definitely.
@@Lullalies I think he really enjoyed Sunshine because I imagine he got typecast after voicing Batman in BTAS to really be picked for well mostly that kind of role. And yeah he always does that magnifnically but as an actor you do want to play a variety of different characters and yeah Sunshine is most assuredly NOT the DCAU Batman/Bruce Wayne in terms of character.
"Heard it took 20 minutes to pull his henchclowns out of his clown car before they could get to him!"
That is so morbidly hysterical!!!
Thy did a live action version of this on reno 911
At least he didn't require his henchclowns to also be packed in the coffin with him.
Kevin Conroy as Captain Sunshine
Mark Hamill as Boggles the Clue Clown
***** Yeah it would be like batman the animated series.
***** Yeah.
+Donte Morgan (kind of spoiler-ish detail)...
I used to think Mark Hamill would have been perfect for The Sovereign's true form.
My cold dead eyes That would be cool.
+Conor Climo Well, Boggles never had a speaking role, so you can't say for sure that Hamill WASN'T his voice actor...
"He was always wrong" gets me every fucking time. It's incredible.
I have been told by the creators that Captain Sunshine was not actually a pedophile. He was just really really really REALLY lonely.
He also has zero sense of awareness, kinda like Donut on Red vs Blue
What about the lube he made Hank put in his ass
So we're just never bringing up that he kissed hank on the lips again?
It was a Godfather reference.
@Jay no it was so he could go down the slide without any friction.
you have to respect the dedication of a man that incorporates his own corpse into his work
Not only that, but he made a good joke/riddle out of it too.
I always lose it when they play the clown funeral song.
So did Captain Sunshine.
This is what I'd want at my funeral.
the villains reactions are hilarious too.
1:49 sad clown funeral music
Red Mantle: Too soon!
Dragoon: He was always wrong!
I just realised that they foreshadowed the Sovereign killing the Council in this clip when Brock says Boggles’ death was convenient
@Hitchdude It could go either way. The sovereign killing 90% of the council seemed like because he thought they'd be against his scheme and the season 5 recap implies he did cause the OSI had ID them all except Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and was getting jumpy with the investors coming to collect
@@StarWarsAddict527 and the four he didn't set up traps outside the main base (don't know on Mantle/Dragoon and Z if he layed out traps for them) he probebly let them arrive with ease because he beleived he could convince them to side with him.
It seemed like the investors killed him cause of the Heart disease
Well with heart diesease death can happen at anytime so it could be just a coincidence. Funny enough the sopranos show had a charecter die from such but went the Elvis route
"His name was BOGGLES you cronium crossbreed!" I love Stanford and Waldorf
Staedtler
It a damn shame Kevin Conroy didn't get more chances to go full ham during his life. Captain Sunshine's screaming is always hilarious.
Kevin Conroy was born to play Captain Sunshine.
+RussianGuyovich I think Adam West could do it just as good.
Henchman Twenty1 well yeah, as cool as Batman is, here he gets to be a bit more humorous.
or as Monarch calls him, Captain Funtime
@@gentlemanmaniac9992 Actually that's why I love Kevin Conroy even more. As Captain Sunshine he's clearly channeling his inner Adam West and having loads of fun with it.
The Lord blessed that man to be a hero.
1:58 - After hearing about Kevin Conroy’s passing…
As much as he put forth, even the mourners were disgusted/terrified at his final joke.
"He said he'd always have the last laugh"
"He was always wrong-"
Considering that Boggles was an old guy I am thinking he used to be the arch of Desmond the original captain sunshine back in the 60's
Its practically a given, with the current Cap as the original Wonder Boy.
With how much Sunshine's life was screwed up, Boggles might have practically have been one of the most constant people in his life, so seeing the clown's final gag truly meaning he's gone, that's why he was crying on his coffin.
@Desolations102 True, but Clue Clown looked pretty old too. Desmond!Cap might have had several arches due to his high level in the Guild stats.
@Desolations102 Desomd, the first cap, is old (probably same age as Dragoon but healthier), Chuck looks late middle age, the second Wonder Boy we saw at Doc's support group looks about early to mid 30's (maybe really late 20's). Clue Clown looked like he might have been close to octogenarian and it's heavily implied that Sovereign actually killed him.
I agree that a companion book with the history of the Venture-verse would have been great, but the writers mostly wrote by the seat of their pants. Hell, Sunshine was initially just a joke reference in the first season finale.
@GitGoodLol the artbook is the closest thing to be tbh (has lots of designs , thrown away ideas, and info on almost half the episodes in the series)
Didn't Dragoon say he arched Desmond at one point when the latter was still Captain Sunshine?
Has any other Batman nemesis ever even briefly superseded the Joker as the dark knight's de facto arch enemy, outside of continuities where the Joker has died or otherwise been permanently defeated, of course?
Spoiler alert:
Knowing now that Vendatta was actually a brainwashed Blue Morpho in a cyborg body, I have to say that this is probably the most tragic character in the entire Venture Brothers universe by far; even more so than Jonas Venture Jr.
He was a hero, blackmailed by Jonas Venture Sr. into doing his dirty work, then tragically killed and brought back as a cyborg by Jonas Sr. which horrified the rest of his team, then killed by Cano when he turned on Rusty, then brought back by Dr. Z who gave him a "sexy makeover" and wiped his mind, then nearly smashed to pieces by Brock Sampson for no good reason, then walks 3000 miles to his home with fragmented memories of his former life, then confronts Jonas Sr. one last time only for Jonas Sr. to try to trick him Again to steal his body so he can put his own brain into it, until he can clone a new body for himself, and finally dies in a struggle with the evil Jonas Sr.
This character was betrayed and screwed over in every way possible......
Tbf his redesign was way better than what Jonas gave him.
*in the background* HE WAS ALWAYS WRONG!
Man I love that duo...mono...whatevs...
That double-header. :D
REDMANTLEDRAGOON HYBRID
"He was always wrong" Savage lol
I like how Clue Clown is just a mix up of Joker and Riddler, who are just slight variations of each other.
gotta say its commitment to the bit when you turn your funeral into one last pun, using your own body as a prop at that, i can see why red mantle liked the guy
Rest in peace Kevin Conroy. You were always a super great man in our eyes.
R.I.P. Kevin conroy
I love how over the top Kevin Conroy went with Captain Sunshine. It cracks me up every time.
So Red Mantle can control earth? That's actually pretty sweet. (Nice job Buddy Holly)
Well it does fit the name. A mantle is a layer between the crust and the outer core of a planet so
and that mantle is often depicted as often being red... It's funny because I thought the pun was only on his Red colored mantle he wore before.
FallaciousScotsman He is a wizard after all.
Brock Samson I thought he was a rogue ninja from the Hidden Rock Village.
I think Red Mantle is just an all-around powerful sorcerer/wizard/warlock (I can't recall which) and moving dirt is just a spell he knows.
I still expect that giant spring to go off a second time and for Boggles to pop out of the ground after he was buried.
Boo!
RIP Captain Sunshine
Batman at The Joker's funeral.
Well robot chicken actually did something like that. He laughed it off.
I pictured Batman cry at joker's funeral
@@davidspearim5552
Arkham series: Batman was remorseful, even though Joker killed the love of his life
Injustice: shocked, but more likely because Superman killed him.
Batman Beyond: shocked, because Robin went nuts.
I do believe when Joker had a funeral for batman, He did shed a tear. But he was more pissed off.
@@slewone4905 honestly despite those two being enemies, Batman was possibly The Joker's only friend even if it did seem one sided
The character was a mixture of the Ridler and the joker genius
And his nemesys was voiced by The Best Batman ever!
Got to love how Kevin Conroy was channeling Adam West.
1:58 this is how I feel after hearing the news about Kevin Conroy 😭😭😭
Me too
And now Jason David Frank
RIP Kevin Conroy
1:18
It's pretty obvious that the dude with the hat conducting the service is one of the council members. How could Brock not see that?
I'm not sure 'the obvious' is the right route to go against a prank supervillain
Why do I feel like Batman will be crying exactly like this at jokers funeral
Nah, Batman would feel relieved....that is if he feels joker is actually dead.
no Well, in The Dark Knight Returns, Joker was in an almost catatonic state until he heard Batman was back
This new kid reminds me to Jason todd
+batman30751 Oh I hope the resemblance isn't just coincidence....
I think it's meant be to Too-Cool Edgy Damien.
Nah, he was adopted. More likely Jason or Tim.
So that would make this Cap. Sunshine Nightwing?(I'e the original Wonder Boy)
He's Wonderboy number 5 including Captain Sunshine, (The original wonderboy) the second wonderboy, (who was dropped for being fat) wonderboy number 3, (Who was slew by the Monarch...'s henchmen) and Hank who was wonderboy for a day. But yeah he does look like Jason
Did Boggles do that Jack in the Box joke with his ACTUAL CORPSE!? That's just sick & perverse!
He was a supervillain after all.
and THAT'S the kind of people that fit the councill
And wanted it done to himself.
Classic Boggles
So the question becomes, did he have the spring stuffed into his back or up his ass? With the way his corpse hangs it could be either one.
The fact that they made a character who is a parody of batman and superman at the same time and then got THE Kevin Conroy to voice him?? thats insanely awesome. RIP Conroy, you will be missed.
I lost It when he throws himself on top of the coffin crying 😂
Me too though i think that was kind of fucked up.
I just keep picturing Batman 😆
There's always that one person at a funeral that completely loses it
Almost positive it's a Twin Peaks reference to Leland having a breakdown and throwing himself on Laura Palmer's coffin as its being lowered into the ground
@@ultraanton "Dont..ruin this too!"
"Boggles, you fiend! What does it mean?!"
This is probably the best version of when you pitch the idea of “clown funeral”
"The answer may surprise you"
Sounded like a Buzzfeed clickbait article
My guilty favorite from Conroy. RIP The Best Bstman.
Wow, Kevin Conroy is channeling Adam West with Captain Sunshine here. Well done, Kevin. Well done!
wdcain1 Boggles, you fiend! What does it mean!?
A batman channeling a Batman to play a knock off Superman.
Kevin Conroy practically did a good Sliver Age Batman voice for Captain Sunshine.
I will never see this scene the same way again 😥
"He always said he'd have the last laugh."
"And he want always wrong!"
savage.
Somehow I get the feeling that this is what Joker's funerals going to be like
"He always said he'd have the last laugh"
"He was always wrong"
The day the Joker died Batman cried :)
It was a good episode.
R.I.P Kevin Conroy
This scene feels different now 😞
1:19 I've always wondered why it was so hard to ID members of the council from their silhouette for everyone in universe.
They could have easily ID the priest luchador. They did ID vendata. Dragoon and Red Mantle were helmets and hoods originally. Brock though has met Dr. Z
@@StarWarsAddict527
Dr. Z had fake ears and mustache expressions, it's not much but it distorts his shadow.
the circus funeral music killed it.
Captain Sunshine appears to have had a similar relationshop to Boggles as Action Johnny and Dr. Z, sure they were enemies, but they were also sort of like family. Kind of like losing an uncle.
TOO SOON
ilvanezzo He was always wrong
I kind of like new edgy Wonder Boy.
You do now, but when he goes through the Lazarus Pit and becomes Red Wonder you'll feel otherwise.
i'd like to have a wonderboy like that lockef in my closet
Have a seat.
sequorroxx
i came here lookin' for booty
Me too, too bad he's gonna get f*cked.
"TOO SOOOON"
Its kind of sad to think when an Arch dies the other side actually misses them.
I love the reference to batman and joker
RIP Kevin 1:59
I loved how the Venture Bros did amalgamation characters like combining The Joker and The Riddler into Boggles and combining Batman and Superman into Captain Sunshine
I want that clown funeral music so I can play it at the death bed of family when they're about to croak over.
skylx08 TOO SOON
skylx08 I so need it
I want my corpse to be a Jack in the Box.
Caught the Easter egg. Wonder Boy is on Crime-o-dile's tombstone, who we learn was killed by Captain Sunshine by one of the unemployed henchmen in a previous episode.
Wan Fu. Gawd damn...that was a sniper eye find. I forgot the crime-o _dile revenge slaying all together.
Crime-o-dile even saved that henchmen's life...the henchmen always came first with him.
First episode of season 2 to be exact.
"there's nothing 'convenient' about heart disease, I can assure you, Agent Sampson!"
Dragoon seem to have the same relationship with boggles the clown that Lex had with the Joker they couldn't stand each other only to work together to defeat there common enemies
GET OFF OF ME!
This is how I want my funeral to play out
Zoids Liger model? Henchmen 21 is the best.
I can't believe Kevin Conroy's really gone.😢
God damn all these reactions to Kevin Conroy. Like people forget he's a professional voice actor and not just the voice of Batman.
"He was always wrong!" is a contender for best line in the series
Man, captain sunshine’s new sidekick is given off real Jason Todd vibes. Hope nothing bad happens to him......
D:)
Considering he's the 4th Wonder Boy I think he's Damian. Jason was the one Monarch acedently killed.
Best funeral ever!
i agree and there aint no way iam not using that music for mine absolutly priceless

Monseñor is an absolutely genius villain name/persona.
The comment about the clown car cracked me up "it took 20 minutes to pull his Hench Clowns out before they could get to him".
I'm gonna feel sorry for the grave robber who tries to rob his grave in the distant future xD

The concept of a clown funeral is hilarious.

Ile Salmo What does it mean!?
Ok the fact they have Kevin Conroy play as captain sunshine go to a funeral for his arch nemesis who is a clown to cry about losing him just makes it more funny
I laugh hysterically every time I see this and he yells too soon...🤣🤣
looks like the scp foundation finally shut him down.
whoops got it mixed up, eh close enough.
oh my fucking god I laughed when he said "too soon"
I think this is the only time we ever see Dragoon displaying some kind of power. Unless there is another instance I'm forgetting they are just kinda there to ramble on.
I like how wonder boy was balancing on the grave
And that the last time Red Mantle used magic.
The Joker + The Riddler = Boggles the clue clown!
0:34 damn, you really can see Captain Sunshines age on his back like goodness, those are some liver spots
