    What am I talking about?
My topic is the KE-Jetronic injection system which I try to demystify as much as I can.
For all of you to understand the system in brief - Developed in 1973 and being mounted into cars up to 1993 as it went in history. But why these to letters!?(KE) K(from German "kontinuierliche Einspritzung" meaning continuos injection, without interruption) the MECHANICAL injection system on which the fuel starts flowing from the fuel tank sucked by the FUEL PUMP and delivered to the FUEL DISTRIBUTOR which sends fuel to the INJECTORS while the majority of it flows through the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR through its return line back to the fuel tank again. The letter E(elektronische Gemischanpassung/electronically controlled mixture adaptation) has to mark the electronic sensors (the developement starting from early eighties) which had to inform the ECU about the current state of the engine so that the ECU(Electronic Control Unit) then could create current signal in mA(miliampers) and send it to four crucial components for the system - the EHA(the electro-hydraulic actuator, a unit consisting of a magnet, an electromagnet and a baffle plate) which had to fine tune the engine in each of its phases, the ICV(the idle control valve), the unit which was predicted for the engines perfect idle, the X11(the diagnostic socket) where the duty cycle(the ideal mixture) was adjusted and the X11/4(the code reader) - the socket which from any codes were read if present using an OBD1 scanner.
An extraordinary injection system which could be fully repaired in your own garage using a multimeter and a pressure gauge only for its fine tuning, together with some common tools.

hello, I'm back on your channel because I need help again... I can't start my Mercedes 190 2.3E from the USA after I turned it off in the parking lot after a short drive. The problem is idle air control. when I turn on the ignition, the engine opens for 10 seconds, then there is a clicking sound, which means that it has closed. I will add that I previously adjusted the idle speed potentiometer and cleaned the idle motor. I'm running out of ideas, I can't start the car to adjust the potentiometer again, I checked the idle engine and it's working, I even replaced it with another one that worked identically. when starting, if I manually lower the air flap, it will start without any problems. It looks like not enough current because when its clicking the voltage going to zero but when i unplug idle air control engine then voltage on plug going back to ~ 11,5V. I dont know where is the source of problem. please can you help me?

Hello. When you turn the ignition on and measure voltage on the ICV do you get 11-13V?

@@mercedeske yes but only for few seconds, then voltage drop to zero. Then i hear click from icv. When im unplug icv and then measure voltage on plug is ~11,5. It looks like voltage going down because there is not enought current.

@@MateuszKruk-bh7gx Or you swapped the polarity?😉 Never mind. Try to start the car by removing the fuel pump relay, brigding contacts 7&8 and let someone connect the contacts 87V on the fuel pump relay with the battery ground(cold start valve actuation). Let it be for a second or two and then start the car, let it warm up and measure the voltage on your icv and tell me what you got.

@@mercedeske she's alive! I did as you said, the voltage after warming up the engine was 5.35V
