Randy, I just saw a U Tube site (Bend It) that turned my stomach. A guy on Lake Champlain catches 111 lake trout using live scope. It is hard on the trout to be pulled from 100 foot depth. My guess is some of them will die. This is the technological plague live scope is to all fishing not just to bass fishermen.

Trout can burp air from their swim bladder to release the pressure, so barotrauma does not affect them

Hot weather in my region…Millwood, Sam Rayburn, Lake o the Pines, Toledo Bend, the bass have always seemed lazy and will attack larger worms. I think they are just trying to get a large feed with minimal movement.

I remember the first time I fished lake Lanier In GA. I dropped a white spinner bait over the side of the boat and watched go down and down and down. Couldn't believe how clear it was.

I would love for you to come fish the Kokomo reservoir here in Indiana. It's always a tough bite. Everytime I go out I either get skunked or I only catch 1 or 2. It is a mainly muck bottom, 6 to 7 foot channel, and average of 4 foot everywhere else. There is an old rock quarry spot that reaches 20 foot, but I never do any good around the deep part either. I fish the structure and rip rap banks. Sometimes I try to find schools of bait and fish under them...

Ontario guy here, Spybait/jerkbait, drop shot, hair jig, bottom contact like a finesse tube and swimbait. Problem being some days each individual fish will want just 1 of those applications and reject everything you throw at em. Sometimes down to the colour. Far casts can be really key on those calm days.

You keep referring to MB z2 as a “shallow” running crankbait. The Tackle warehouse product description says the bait runs to 10 feet. I’m not sure if you are calling 10 feet shallow. 10 feet is often the dividing line between mid depth and deep crank. Your thoughts?
