This is one of my favorite Chicago songs! More and more, Leonid and Friends demonstrate their amazing musicianship. They are genuine in their tribute to Chicago and elevate their songs to another level. As a musician (I’m a keyboardist and accordionist) I’m constantly impressed by every one of these musicians and vocalists! I’m a L&F fan for life. Thank you Jeff for your genuine and heartfelt analysis of L&F! You are awesome!
Thank you my friend! 🫶
Leonid is killing that bass.
L&F is by far one of the best, if not the best, tribute bands around. If you're able to see them in concert you would have a blast. The horns are just as tight live as they are in the video.
I absolutely love the his band, been following them for a 3 years or so. Nice to see the respect they show in their versions, they always nail it.
@@clare1061 I discovered them in 2021, it was their video “September” as a suggested video under Arnel Pineda’s cover of Abracadabra. Been loving L&F ever since.
Well I have been to 40 live shows, scheduled for at least 10 more this year! Retirement is wonderful! 🤣
That is a lot of shows. Congrats!
Guess I can't relate, but nice to know someone's having fun.
love that bass!
Jeff: Thanks again for your analysis. It’s always spot on. Imho, it really doesn’t seem to matter what line-up Leonid assembles, every production is nothing short of professional. iThere are so many talented musicians and artists in Russia, it makes one’s head spin. These guys don’t just come to the studio, pick up a guitar and attempt a cover; no…they live it, respect it, rehearse it, outperform it.
I have to say that the horn section in this band is better than that in Chicago. I say this as a huge fan of Chicago. It is always a treat to see you smile through a full video revealing just how much you are enjoying what you are hearing.
Please Someone Name Me another 'Tribute/Cover Band" Better then L.&F. .........Crickets....... Jeff, your Channel is Totally Awesome, I have the Utmost Respect and Admiration for what you Do!!
Saw Leonid and Friends for the third time in Fort Lauderdale last week. They are utter perfection in all they do. It is beyond amazing that the instrumental talent can be so tight and crisply accurate in tone and note clarity and the vocal talent is so amazing in their range and harmony abilities. Recent releases that they perform in person come through as amazing as they are on the videos. Jeff, your reviews of this band are so perceptive, especially in where you recognize that the joy that they perform with, along with the incredible fidelity of the videos brings to life the soul and spirit of the song even better than the original artist’s version and it definitely brings those of us over 60 years old back to an earlier time that we can re-live the emotions that the songs brought out of us.
Best tribute band on the planet, bar none!
Always spot on, aren't they? Once again, your analysis is on the money, too. The horn section today is the same except Andre left the band to be replaced by Valery, who has grown into the spot nicely. Makes me a little sad to see Serge. He is SO good, but being from Ukraine.....
This is the first tune I heard from them Jan of 23... It made me go see them live Sept of 23... They are that good. I will see them again😊
Great horn section.!!!
I discovered these guys not long ago then discovered your channel and now I’m set.
Start at the beginning and enjoy the ride! I discovered them when they only had 4-5 videos out, I envy you the discovery of the greatest cover band around.
And we’re extra lucky that Jeff has discovered them...now he’s getting quite the catalogue of Leonid and Friends music. No matter how many times I watch, I never get tired of these commentaries. 👍
That's the kind of performance we simply don't want to end!
Love Serge T.'s voice. Andrey Zyl hits that last high note so beautifully.
absolutely AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!
Igor is a machine!!
The dynamics in unison with the horns also get me. They all swell and fall together.
WOW!!!!
One of the first vidéo I watched from L&F.. For me the best group of musicians at that time. Serguei, serge, missing them. Thanks Jeff
Truly a under appreciated gem? As a horn player this is one of those must love to play charts.
Another home run for this band 😎
I know a lot of people see this yet another fantastic masterpiece from Leonid and Friends and think "Ksenia is saying she loves them" but the truth is she is really only saying it to me... I know.. 😁
I had to watch it 20 times, but yes... I see what she said there. 😅
Thanks, Jeff. Another classic, superbly covered.
This is an amazing cover. So well done
I grew up with Chicago and have the sound of these songs embedded in my DNA, hearing this band since I found them was pretty much indistinguishable from the recorded versions, and you're right, they has NEVER been a bad production. Lovely to see Ksenia, an accomplished vocalist in her own right, being a team player in Leonid's band. Serge from Ukraine nailed the vocals! Thank you so much for giving more well deserved publicity to the amazing accomplishments of this incredible band! Loving your reviews! Let's not forget, when these songs were first transcribed by Leonid, they were not able to buy sheet music like we can in the West, so it was all done by ear! This is also such a fine example of music transcending borders and the fact that is is only revanchist politicians who ruin everything!
Good call Jeff. You will 'not' find a bad song from L&F! They are incredible!
Perfect!!!!
Andrey is so musical on the trumpet, and as a trumpet geek myself, the G to end the chart was 🔥 Bravo to this band. I've seen them live many times, including my first time at Village Studios in L.A. on their very first U.S. tour. I never tire of listening to them. 🎼🎶
I saw them for the first time, just a few days after you, at Joe's Live in Rosemont, IL.
My absolute favorite lineup 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great song!!
I'll be seeing them once again this October down here in Texas. For me it will be front seat next to the stage! It is always such a treat to have a full dinner and show in an intimate setting of only 440 people! I urge all y'all to try to see and hear these very fine artists!
This performance of this song made me a fan of Leonid and Friends years ago. Chicago 7 is my favorite album and to hear this band perform several songs from said album was an absolute joy. Leonid has surely created something special.... very glad to hear you recognize them in this way.
Perfection!
Great reaction please react to Leonid and friends your the inspiration they do amazing work with the horns and the vocals are great too
I would have loved to have heard the original Chicago at their best with the recording and mixing technology we have today.
I think you are having the same problem I am having Jeff - namely, running out of adjectives to use to praise their efforts. I don't have your mastery of music by which to judge their efforts from a professional musical standpoint - I will leave that to you and then shake my head and agree to agree with your assessment. Of course, my opinion always tends to go along with yours so perhaps I do have an ear for what constitutes the best of the best!
Was wondering if you were able to see Dirty Loops last week. I saw them in Denver and they knocked it out of the park. Also have tickets to Leonid and Friends when they come to Denver later this year.
I'm not sure if anyone's ever mentioned it... but there a dutch group called The Analogues who perform the Beatles albums from Sgt. Pepper on. They too are unbelievable the way they recreate the sound of those records which the Beatles themselves never performed. Check them out!
I’m an OG Beatles fan and originally from the Netherlands, my cousin there turned me on to the Analogues: they are indeed fantastic. The Faux Four are fantastic too.
I've said in the past my music taste froze sometime mid 90's. No worries with this one. Close your eyes and enjoy the ride. Hats off to L&F's!!!
As usual this was just brilliant from Leonid. But it's what we've come to expect! But can I draw your attention to a production equally impressive by "Jim MIDI Doctor" featuring a young lady called Tori Holub covering The Carpenter's " We've only just begun " It's eerily uncanny how Tori sounds like Karen. It'd be interesting to get your take on this talented 24 year old singer. Like Leonid Vorobyev, James Wilkas, the producer, is a pretty clever guy to produce such a masterpiece.
Awesome as always!!
Try “the hindley street country club”. See what you think of, A Horse with no Name & A Woman in Love. Just a couple of suggestions.
I wonder if Leonid would consider doing songs from some of Chicago's later albums?
They've done "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" (16), "You're the Inspiration" (17), and "Stay the Night" (17)
@@brentgindelberger8851 I do remember them doing that, my brain didn't make the connection that those were from their later albums. 🤷♂
Hey Jeff I was wondering what happened to your guilty pleasure Feeling Stronger Everyday? 😊
Have they had a bad one? Absolutely not. Have they done some I don't like? Yes, but that is because I just don't like the song not their cover. I am so looking forward to your review of Color My World coming up. All I am going to say is that IMO that cover deviates more from the original then any of their others - and I LOVE it.
If this doesn´t make you smile and swing, pls visit a doctor ;-)
And... Ksenia said "I love you" and she looked at me!!!
"Has there been a bad one?" Not "bad" but there was one around this 2019-2020 time frame (can't remember song) where the echo of the piano was really distracting.
Perfect!!!
