Think so she created the first one drawings now to show us her improvement, I guess
She cleverly created them bad to show us the difference, but whatever it is, her drawings at present ar just magnificent
Damn she went from a 6th grade student to Leonardo Da Vinci.
😂
Wow lol
Lol!!
I believe she actually STARTED her drawing from Leonardo da Vinci, the first back drawing is one of da Vinci's dessin in red chalk. I also recignised the style of Rene Margrite and fashion drawing. Amazing, keep up the good work :)
Hahahahaha i burst out laughing 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Isnt anyone gonna talk about how beautiful her hands are

'NEVER give up'
*takes 10 years of break* 😂
But on a serious note, you are really talented, amazing stuff you have there! 👏👏👏
She didnt give up, she just took a break😀
Yeah. And during that break she learned to use a computer artistry program. You can see these are printed in the reflections of light. Come on people. No one starts out like she did, takes a 10 year break and learns shading and proportion with no further lesson.
How u go on a 10 year break and come back Picasso
I think she was processing all she learned from her first few years during those 10 years.
I draw too Soo when i take a break i become much better
Perhaps I should stop drawing for ten years and see the improvement. Don't think it'll work for me though -I start to get rusty after a mere ten days!
I dont buy it 😂
Sorry but not Picasso..believe me you can do this to only dedication and studying the materials. For some it takes years for others not that long. But art is different it is all about bringing your own technique and concepts. Become your own signature.
I came here for motivation but decided to take a break for 10 years.
After that you will become Da Vinci

That's just because you don't practice. I've been drawing for a few years now, and my art went from trash to something I can live with. I assure you, practice really does help.
😆😆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I am so greedy when it comes to buying equipment too, so that combined with losing interest in drawing and playing with other hobbies instead doesn't really push me in the correct direction .. I could just order a tablet, but what if I just won't end up using it .. pretty much what happened to my keyboard and guitar and I bought them like a decade ago and just play on them once in awhile.

I think that artistic ability is more to do with the mind. If you draw everyday you develop certain muscle memory but if you take a long break you can still visualise certain things and you can practice in your head by imagining which places to give more depth and shading. Art isn't all about constant physical practice, it is about your depth of understanding and how well you understand how to place colour and texture. Practicing is necessary and helps put your understanding into a physical product, but art isn't just about whats on the paper, it is the whole idea and understanding of the world around you. To be able to interpret something into art, you must understand the features and shapes in whatever it is that you are creating. People seem baffled by your improvement after such a long break but its not that strange. It proves that you improved your understanding during that time and you clearly still thought in the way of an artist. When you went back to drawing, you were able to finally release your understanding and then it flourished. You then proceeded to improve through practicing and that made your art even more accurate and advanced. Seeing your improvement was very inspiring.
I myself am an aspiring artist and i really love watching videos like this, showing people's improvement.
I took a 34 year break. I was 15 when I stopped. I'm 49 now. I believe what you say is true. When i picked up a pencil at my grandmothers house last week I honestly did not even believe how much better without practice I had become. Still a LONG LONG way from where I'd like to be, but my passion was ignited again, one that had been extinguished by a few well meaning art teachers in my youth.
Exactly!! I stopped drawing for 6 months and my art has massively improved!!
What u said is true, very very true,

This is incredibly accurate, thanks for putting it in words
The thing with realism is that they look so much like photos... and the only way to truly prove they're not photos is to rub a bit out! 😭😂

*_I'm scared of ur hand...it looks soo realistic_*
@@belmalukac9433 I think she talked about the hands the artist drew. 8'37'' and 9'47''.

Sugar Baby It's not really. You'd be surprised at how often that happens. Our brain isn't fully developed yet, so when it is we are able to do stuff which we thought we couldn't before. How is it that the drawings immediately following a 10 year break are so much better? Surely there must have been some practising going on during the 10 years?
I do not see such a difference but if you do I guess it is because I was 10 years older :) I did not practice during the break, I remember I drew about 3 pictures that I do not have anymore but it cannot be counted as a practice at all.
I agree, I was wondering the same thing! I thought maybe immediately following the break you took a class or something. The drawing following the break did seem much better than where you left off! Very cool video seeing the transformation!
I think as one grows older one sees more of the essential that is so important in arts. I ve noticed the same thing about myself. I could not practice for a long time due to “life” but when i get back to it i feel an improvement. It s weird but its a thing....

** My 10 year break - Sometimes we might get better at something only by getting older / growing up even without a proper practice (by getting more confident lines, seeing things differently, using little different techniques, using also shading instead of just outline lines, etc.). I did not practice during the break, I remember I drew about 3 pictures that I do not have anymore but it cannot be counted as a practice as I have drawn hundreds of sketches since then. The largest improvement is a result of constant daily practice (especially during 2016-2019).

I love this SO MUCH for this. I’ve been making art since as long as I can remember, but I was sooo hard on myself for not having “natural drawing abilities”…. And then I realized that it takes time and practice. It makes all the difference. At 30, I’m finally beginning to love even my less-than-perfect drawings because I know they’re just as important to the process as the “good” ones.

@@bigdipper1578 that's what lazy people say
@@bigdipper1578 Copying my comment:
What you call talent can easily be learned. I mean there's a book about that "Artistic vision" (Drawing on the right side of the brain". And if someone is better than another person with a same amount of practice, that's only because some people learn faster. It has nothing to do with talent. And even creativity is something that can you develope, because creativity needs to be fed, so the more art you see or copy etc, the more creative your art work will be. It's just stupid to tell someone they are talented, when they worked for it long hours for years. Only hardworking people can become an artist and it has nothing to do with talent. Oh, and copying and using a reference is still not the same.
@olivi doen It depends on what kind of realistic paintings you want to draw. If you want to draw from imagination, you have to learn a lot of things, like perspective, anatomy, etc. I would recommend Ctrl Paint and Drawabox lessons. If you just want to copy the best way is to read the "Drawing on the right side of the brain" by Betty Edwards. You can buy it, but it can be downloaded from the internet. After you learnt the fundamentals, learn some techniques, such as charcoal, graphite, white pencil on black paper, etc. It is all about the amount of practice that you put in. If you are losing your motivation watch some progress videos. My favourite artist is ZHC, it is insane how much learned in a few years. Good luck with your journey, I hope you will start drawing.
Edit: That is not a problem that you are left handed.

This is so inspiring. Patience is something I struggle with when making art, and it's something I need to work on. I always give up when I struggle with art. This gives me motivated to keep going thank you ❤️
The way you comment on your first drawings is motivating... you were proud, you did not say it wasn’t good enough yet, you valued your progress.. wish I could do the same!

Love the pixel effect that you give.. It is mesmerising to watch your work. Can't congratulate you enough. Loads of love
My progress:
2000: Stickman drawings
2019: Getting satisfied by watching drawing videos
😁
BTW the video was awesome and it has inspired me to improve my drawing skills!
I had a question:
What's up with those square grids that you drew in your drawings?
Ramkrishna joshi that’s funny😄 Thank you so much, I’m glad you like it😊
Wow Silvie, you are inspiration, thank you dearly! I love your work, and your hands!
I am a newbie to this art game . I have started understanding and practing shading. And I know how much work a portrait requires . Your progress gives me encouragement to carry on ❤️
Wow!! You could sell your drawings if you wanted to, they’re really good and beautiful!
OMG TYSM FOR THE HEART!!!!!!!
I m just a beginner in sketching and for me her paintings are lile blessings,so awesome,so beautiful. She is like goddess compared to what i can draw😂😂..I hope I could be like her someday.
Anime Hub I am sure you can achieve any level you want! Just believe in yourself and keep practicing. Good luck with your journey🍀
@@silviemahdal3570 sure mam..I m getting better😅😅.
I hope you won't give up and good luck!
Thankyou everyone for your support.😇😇
Let me pick my jaw up of the floor! How amazing this video is and not to mention inspiring! I am a number one fan of yours now!

These are valueble things of your long time, we are seeing in our short time, thankyou for share and show your time.
I could see the moment shading clicked in your brain. Cause it's a really hard concept for some people to learn but once you do, it's hard to forget.
It is DIFFICULT. T-T I need helppp, shading is my BIGGEST struggle 😭😭
I so agree Cat415 - once you have it, you view everything differently. When I saw the recent drawings, I could see the hrs of layers she had added to produce the realism. I’m still learning myself, I’ll always be learning I hope, but shading and building a piece slowly are definitely the difference between “not so bad” and “wow”.
@@kylieb4836 absolutely! I mean you really even start to notice it in the world around you like you never did before. Just takes a whole lot of time and practice to get it right 😊
2014 me: stickman
2019 me: still stickman.
2019: stickman with a shadow
@@Phoenix_Down444 xd
Stickman ---> Stickman with a hat haha
My first drawing around 2017 looked just like hers at 1:11.. I haven’t paid much attention to drawing since and only drew 2-3 portraits a year. This year I felt really compelled to get back In and I’m already so happy with where I am, but no where near where I want to be. I’m really excited to see my hand improve over the years :)
I’m in the process of learning now. Your videos help me a lot! Thankyou ❤
Who wouldn’t be a thousand percent impressed by your work? I’ve leaned toward realism too. I started with sketching nature, then painting (watercolor) landscapes and now I’m trying faces. You appear to be a beautiful woman who is extremely accomplished. I would say hard work on something you enjoy is a great combination. Thank you!
This is such a wonderful comment, thank you so much Catherine! I am happy you like my work, I am sure you are great at sketching and painting. Is it possible to see your work somewhere online? :)
Silvie Mahdal hi, the only online place is my Facebook under my whole name, Catherine Levison. I have only done 4 seated attempts at faces. You’ll see those on top. If you scroll down a little you’ll see the last few watercolor landscapes I’ve done. Everything on FB photos comes across darker than in real life. I wrote I lean towards realistic work but I am a beginner who is having a lot of fun with this. I do have watercolor experience in my background, but that was all untrained. I just painted what I saw in nature.
Silvie Mahdal hi, I have my first 5 facial sketches uploaded on my Facebook for you if you get time to look. Catherine Levison. Thank you.
@@catherinelevison3310 thank you Catherine! I love your watercolor paintings of landscapes :) hopefully you will keep painting them!
Silvie Mahdal hi, thank you so much. Today I’m sitting down with my new Bristol Smooth Paper, which is white vs. tan, and I’m trying to do the realistic work you do. Hope it works at least a little for me. THANKS!!
This is pure talent OMG ❤️❤️😍😊
I can’t even draw a perfect straight line
Jessica Edit’s 1. Talent means you were born with something you’re good at
2. Dont insult yourself to compliment the artist because it can be awkward for artist and its disrespectful to yourself
3. Nobody can draw perfect straight lines, thats what rulers are for
Pepperoni Pancakes you must be fun at parties
Pepperoni Pancakes I totally agree😊👍
Jessica Edit’s no worries, lines and circles are very hard to draw. It is impossible to draw lerfect line or a circle😊 moreover drawing is a skill and it can be developed so you can try to learn it😊🍀
Nobody can..?
Ur absolutely right , I am also started draw at my childhood , now practicing again I improve myself so much , love ur all drawings ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

When I was 11 years old I wanted to be an artist for a living. Drawing and painting was something I always enjoyed doing. My dad told me one day I would never be a successful artist. I would only be successful after death like my favorite artist Vincent Van Gough so I stopped drawing and paiting. It's been a little over 10 years and I'm starting to be inspired to draw again just for fun too. I just got a new sketch and a mind full of thing to draw. Sorry for the long comment, but I felt the need to share. 😅 Thanks for sharing your Journey and most importantly don't give up!
Lol
Why does everyone apologise for long comments
I was told I'd get nowhere in art.
@@NoName-vi5pl same here. I was told I was good at drawing but wouldn't be able to make a living
My dad also discouraged me and I’m trying to get back to the passion I once loved
Your drawing revolution made me more inspired..
THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Hi! Thank you for sharing, it motivates me to draw again after many years of not holding a pencil I try to draw again but this past few days I stop because I think I'm not gonna be good at it, but seeing your video motivates me. Thank you so much.
