This is the best unboxing video of this controller yet. Nice little details like showing the “into the Starfield” message on the back of the battery door. Also, others haven’t shown the rubber grips in such detail and you got really up close so we can even see all the grooves. Fantastic job and a very good motivation for getting the controller!!

Wow this looks perfect to go with the game. Best part about Starfield is that even if it ends up being buggy, the amount of systems that game has, I know I am gonna be playing this game for at least the next 3-4 years, on and off.
I played skyrim for 2 years straight to complete the whole game and spent a fair amount of time trying out the mods, so safe to say this game will have content for at least 2-3 years.
@@RobUnwraps it would be insane if it was indeed earth and the wasteland is explorable but that's too much work and a developer nightmare to implement so not getting my hopes up. Couldn't be part of a specific mission though.

This controller somehow popped on my Amazon front page, and I've gotta say, what a beauty! I don't really care about Starfield but I wouldn't mind getting this, hopefully they'll still be available next month or so.
I couldn’t skip out on the controller. I grabbed the headset as well because I felt like it was worth replacing my old Xbox headset that had its left mixer cap fall off. The colours of everything are wonderful. Regarding out of focus, I find setting the focus to manual and dialing it in based on where I’ll be sitting helps me avoid any missed focus. Especially when I am talking for a while. The autofocus on my camera is solid but sometimes it tries to focus on a poster or figure at the most in opportune time
That’s one of the best controllers I’ve seen in a while! The headset is nice too, although I didn’t find the original too comfortable when I tried it. Might have to give it another try lol.

Sony and Nintendo. Big N does a good job with their Joycon's but their Pro controllers can't compete with Xbox's special / limited edition controllers.
Being a Playstation guy who just ordered an Xbox especially for this game, I sincerely wish Xbox just made a better controller. For the primary human interface, it's disappointing how last century it all feels. I mean having to buy a rechargeable battery that doesn't even dock, bring it to a very similar price point to a dual shock, but with none of the haptics and none of the ergonomics. - But the Starfield one is definitely pretty.
I too purchased both the controller and headset on day one! I absolutely love the controller in every way, but I found out that much to my disappointment the headset is extremely uncomfortable to wear. I ended up having to return the headset to Best Buy, but that controller is a solid keep!
I got controller and Collectors Edition too - Was having to justify the cost but, its certainly a one off for me at least. The headphones look kool but, they look like "on ear" cups which I hate as they press on ears rather than cover them. Also I have a nice pair of sennheiser so I could not justify to get them.
We are eating good on games. Zelda Tears of the kingdom. Diablo 4, Final Fantasy 16. I don’t have enough hours in the day for all these games. I think this time will fly bye.

I wish they would make version of the Elite controller with these themes. After having Elite I just can't go back down to simpleton basic controllers lol.

I’ve got a lot of gift cards for Best Buy saved up…considering the controller! I don’t really need it but it will be a valuable collectors item moving forward. Even used, you could sell it for good money in a couple years if you like.

Looks so cool. Do they have a version of this controller that is Elite? With a rechargeable battery? Makes no sense to keep buying replacement Alkali batteries.
MS does make a rechargeable lithium pack for regular controllers, but I too was hoping they would skin an Elite, or the "Core" for Starfield. I'd rather buy that than some collector box with a dinky watch.
I actually strangely prefer this option, It is annoying to buy rechargeable batteries (additional cost) but its really nice as the controller ages. The longevity of the controller seemingly goes on forever (unless you get drift or something) but I have a Nintendo pro controller and ps5 controller both of which die incredibly fast now. My options with those are to either play hardwired as it charges or buy a new controller. With the Xbox controller when the batteries die I swap out for my other two Duracell battery rechargeables and it takes like 30 seconds. I also collect Sony minidisc recorders and since they use batteries AA I can use the technology as good as it was when it came out in 2000, if they had internal batteries then the units would be even more obsolete and for sure unusable. I don't know why XBOX still uses batteries either and I can see why some people arent a fan, but you wont here me complaining.
Is it just me or does the Xbox button feel a bit softer compared to other models? Could be just mine but it doesn’t sound as clicky in this video either.
So I just went through my collection and tested it against about 10 other controllers. It is definitely softer than some but as soft as others. The clickiest one I have is the Forza. I also have a few Design Labs that are really clicky. The REmix controller is also really soft and the green controller is soft too.
For me i like it, my other linited editions are my titanfall edition cod advance warfare and horizon for ps4 its my 50 million edition 20th anni cod adv warfarre and my death stranding edition My opinion my fave is my 50 million edition for ps4 and for xbox one its my starfield

I tend to put rechargeable batteries in mine. I've done a lot of videos on those too. There is like an entire industry around Xbox controller batteries that Power A dominates and Nyko and Otterbox (of all people) are trying to move in on. I wonder how it would impact the price if they just finally put an internal battery in them like Sony and Nintendo do. They do have internal batteries already in their elite controllers.

No. You’ll quickly adapt. I play across PC and all 3 controllers. The worse is going from Nintendo to anything else because they do confirm and cancel on transposed buttons. But PS to XBOX you’ll get used to the offset thumb sticks quick.
I just got mine Yesterday, but I am afraid to take it out of the box. It is just such a nice controller I don't want to ruin it. Also, I have a feeling this controller might be worth way more in a few months when they go Out Of Stock.

No, they do not. It has voice isolation to help other people here you better but it doesn't have noise cancelling to help you hear the game or other people better. It also has Spatial Sound technologies like Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS. @@darciukas this is the only one I know that does. There are some more with rubberized grips though. But not all wrap all the way around. Some just go halfway. The Forza Horizon controller has amazing grips.
My only question is have they fixed the face button issues where certain buttons wouldn't reliably register? e.g. the Y button which I believe was one of / still is the worst offender?
I have about 15-20 different Xbox controllers and have never had this issue. The only controllers I’ve personally run into systemic issues with is the joycons and drift. I’ve had to have 4 of those replaced.
@@RobUnwraps I bring this up because I've purchased 2 of these in the past (standard black controllers) from 2 different shops, and both had more or less the exact same problem. The first controller had a problem with the Y and A button and the second (which I still have) has issues with the Y button... I really want to pick this SE as it looks stunning, but was hesitant due to said issues, especially as Microsoft actually acknowledged the defect with these controllers. Fingers crossed I get a solid working unit, thanks for the speedy reply.
It was automatic. Just syncing the controller did it. I show you how to set it up in the video (if you happened to skip over that part, it's towards the end.)

Why won't Bethesda/Microsoft show ANY console-captured gameplay for Starfield?! EVERY trailer, tease, or whatever you want to call them, for Starfield was made with top-of-the-line PC-captured video at 60 FPS. The backlash from Xbox owners, once they FINALLY get to see how the game looks like for them, will be epic. Rewatch the beginning of the Starfield preview from the Xbox/Starfield Direct Showcase. The ONLY notation said "in-game footage." Nothing warning console players that it was NOT the quality image they will get. The worst part... they (most ALL videogame developers use the same deceptive tactic) show one thing, but deliver LESS. In regular commercial advertising, this is called bait-and-switch and is illegal. Why is it legal for video games? Arkane/Microsoft didn't reveal Redfall would ship locked at 30 FPS until two weeks before it was released (as of today, they're still fixing/finishing Redfall ), but Bethesda won't even show one second of gameplay video using console-captured gameplay. Why is that? I'm predicting tons of video glitches (at a minimum) when the game releases, with multiple "as we work diligently to correct the problems" apologies shortly afterward to calm the masses.

Is it just me or does the Xbox button feel a bit softer compared to other models? Could be just mine but it doesn’t sound as clicky in this video either.
So I just went through my collection and tested it against about 10 other controllers. It is definitely softer than some but as soft as others. The clickiest one I have is the Forza. I also have a few Design Labs that are really clicky. The REmix controller is also really soft and the green controller is soft too.
For me i like it, my other linited editions are my titanfall edition cod advance warfare and horizon for ps4 its my 50 million edition 20th anni cod adv warfarre and my death stranding edition
My opinion my fave is my 50 million edition for ps4 and for xbox one its my starfield

Xbox always has controllers that are amazing, Play station has ok looking controllers, but Switch and Xbox are on par with each other

It’s a shame Xbox controllers still use AA batteries, kinda of pathetic but overall the controller looks very decent along with the headset too.
I tend to put rechargeable batteries in mine. I've done a lot of videos on those too. There is like an entire industry around Xbox controller batteries that Power A dominates and Nyko and Otterbox (of all people) are trying to move in on. I wonder how it would impact the price if they just finally put an internal battery in them like Sony and Nintendo do. They do have internal batteries already in their elite controllers.

Is it difficult to transition from a PlayStation controller to an Xbox controller? The placement of the joysticks confuses me.
No. You’ll quickly adapt. I play across PC and all 3 controllers. The worse is going from Nintendo to anything else because they do confirm and cancel on transposed buttons. But PS to XBOX you’ll get used to the offset thumb sticks quick.
I just got mine Yesterday, but I am afraid to take it out of the box. It is just such a nice controller I don't want to ruin it. Also, I have a feeling this controller might be worth way more in a few months when they go Out Of Stock.

You would only need one. I saw your other comment too. You can use Bluetooth but i wouldn’t recommend. It has more delay.

No, they do not. It has voice isolation to help other people here you better but it doesn't have noise cancelling to help you hear the game or other people better. It also has Spatial Sound technologies like Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS. @@RobUnwraps true, I really really really like the see through triggers and enjoy the rubberized grips. Wish more controllers had those see through triggers :(
@@darciukas this is the only one I know that does. There are some more with rubberized grips though. But not all wrap all the way around. Some just go halfway. The Forza Horizon controller has amazing grips.
My only question is have they fixed the face button issues where certain buttons wouldn't reliably register? e.g. the Y button which I believe was one of / still is the worst offender?
I have about 15-20 different Xbox controllers and have never had this issue. The only controllers I’ve personally run into systemic issues with is the joycons and drift. I’ve had to have 4 of those replaced.
@@RobUnwraps I bring this up because I've purchased 2 of these in the past (standard black controllers) from 2 different shops, and both had more or less the exact same problem.
The first controller had a problem with the Y and A button and the second (which I still have) has issues with the Y button... I really want to pick this SE as it looks stunning, but was hesitant due to said issues, especially as Microsoft actually acknowledged the defect with these controllers. Fingers crossed I get a solid working unit, thanks for the speedy reply.

It was automatic. Just syncing the controller did it. I show you how to set it up in the video (if you happened to skip over that part, it's towards the end.)

Why won't Bethesda/Microsoft show ANY console-captured gameplay for Starfield?!
EVERY trailer, tease, or whatever you want to call them, for Starfield was made with top-of-the-line PC-captured video at 60 FPS. The backlash from Xbox owners, once they FINALLY get to see how the game looks like for them, will be epic.
Rewatch the beginning of the Starfield preview from the Xbox/Starfield Direct Showcase. The ONLY notation said "in-game footage." Nothing warning console players that it was NOT the quality image they will get. The worst part... they (most ALL videogame developers use the same deceptive tactic) show one thing, but deliver LESS. In regular commercial advertising, this is called bait-and-switch and is illegal. Why is it legal for video games?
Arkane/Microsoft didn't reveal Redfall would ship locked at 30 FPS until two weeks before it was released (as of today, they're still fixing/finishing Redfall ), but Bethesda won't even show one second of gameplay video using console-captured gameplay. Why is that? I'm predicting tons of video glitches (at a minimum) when the game releases, with multiple "as we work diligently to correct the problems" apologies shortly afterward to calm the masses.
