Mine inserted without modification. I did use the factory O ring, which was in good condition, so it doesn't seem to matter. Maybe there is a technique to use the slightly oversized O ring. I think putting it in a freezer for a few hours might shink it for during installation, but I didn't care to try that. Either way it helps to lubricate the ring before installing it. I had model CTS-HW-0513 for a 2022 GTI Autobahn.
Thanks for the video sir, I have the same issue on wednesday went I get cts inlet I spend 1 hour trying different ways to fit the part today I send a email to cts because of the fitment on the inlet and I found your channel searching if someone else have the same issue with the cts inlet.
They ask me for the original inlet part number, I send them the information. In the maintime I just done the installation and work perfect, I did the same as your video and change the o-ring fit perfect. I keep you posted at soon they contact me again. I send your link video to cts turbo and told them that I have the same issue that you. 😂
Kuya, will this work for a 2022 MK8 GTI SE as well? Nervous because it’s on sale and I don’t wanna have to grind anything if I don’t have to. What you think?
It should work for both 2022 and 2023. Hopefully they have corrected the issue. If not, try a different company. No one from CTS has reach out to me letting me know the issue has been corrected or if it was just a one off I received. Good luck!

Mine fit just fine, had to lube up the o-ring with some engine oil but went right in afterwards.

You should have swapped the o ring from the oem piece on to the aftermarket piece

Do they still make that intake for the mk8 or it a mk7 intake?
