  • In this video I try to tackle a problem with the 106 Rallye project... Its back on the road now, but got a big problem where it dosent want to rev! And in a car like this, its a big problem!... the 100hp this car develops are at 7200rpm, so there is no fun when you cant get to that...

    My money would be on either crankshaft position sensor, coil or ht leads starting to breakdown. Also thumbs up for the Metallica shirt 🤘

      Motorbreath! ;)
      Actually the issues seems to be gone... I checked all connection, cleaned them and put it back together and so far so good.... I really dont like it when i dont find the fault.. but the most important thing is to get it fixed of course... Ill drive it for a couple of days to see if it comes back.... My suspicion is the connection to the temp sensor or the ECU itself...

    Sorry to know that the 106 is not running as intended, but I'm sure you will work this out. Just don't forget to keep us up to date.
    I didn't know that you can diagnose the car as you show, very interesting! My 106 has an aftermarket completely programmable ecu, so the check engine light is always on. But I think that in this kind of computer is easier to see the isues because you can "see" the actual readings of the different sensors, but I might be wrong, I still have to learn how to mess with this thing.
    Your videos are very informative and interesting, keep it up!

      Thanks José!
      Yea I could really use live data because that makes it sooo much easier! but Ill have to relay on fault codes and Multimeter on this one...
      An update will come soon..... I think it was a dodgy connection actually! but im not completely sure yet... :)

    A mystery to be solved - interesting to see what is actually wrong with the little Rallye. We will be watching out there!

    Hello friend
    hope you can help me what can be the reason that I don't have a spark in my 106 rally just like you have

    And what about the colors of your spark plugs ? by the way, the ECU connection tend to be a little funny to. A contact spray could help.

      I actually checked all connections tonight and fixed up some earthing... and right now, the problem has disappeared! Its really annoying when stuff gets fixed without feeling that the actual fault was found... and also it could be to early to be certain that its all gone... we will see! :)

    Hello, i have almost the same issue with my XSI 1.3, the car stoped, revs fine and works fine, but when going on a drive, the car hesitates a lot and the engine makes a noise like ignition is out of timing but this car controls that eletronicly and i dont know what it is.

    • @SeasideGarage
      @SeasideGarage  Před 4 lety

      Its differcoult to say what it could be without hearing it myself... But I would suspect things like crankpos sensor or other sensors that affect the fuel map.
